After catching the last Slime, Celia walked expressionlessly to the newly purchased Alchemical Freezer.
“In you go!”
Celia dropped those wet, slippery, and cold things deep into the freezer, then closed it, staring at the knob on the control panel and twisting it to the coldest setting without hesitation.
Since they liked crawling into warm places so much, they could go reflect in a place twenty degrees below zero!
After finishing all this, Celia’s whole body slid into the nearby chair along with gravity.
Tired.
Not just physical exhaustion, but mental torture.
Her wet clothes clung to her legs, and the patch of skin on her waist where the Slime had crawled still felt vaguely sensory.
The slimy, cold, and suction-like touch seemed engraved in her mind, impossible to shake off.
“Lady Celia…”
A voice came from Lynn at the door.
Celia turned to look. Lynn was hiding behind the doorframe, only showing half her head.
Her gaze shifted back and forth between Celia’s messy collar, the lingering flush on her face, and the sweating, panting Elent nearby.
This scene was indeed hard not to misunderstand.
“Lynn, let me explain.”
Celia propped herself up on the armrest and tried to pick up her shattered dignity.
“We were just capturing escaped Magical Creatures just now. It wasn’t some strange ritual, and certainly not the kind of scene you’re thinking of.”
However, halfway through, Celia closed her mouth.
Explanations often made things worse, especially when the other person had already constructed a logical closed loop based on their assumptions.
Sure enough, after listening to this pale defense, Lynn nodded submissively.
“I understand, Lady Celia.”
“To improve the purity of Saint Celery, one must face the deepest desires and filth, honing the soul through the extreme pulling of the flesh. This is the true essence of a Fallen Saintess’s cultivation, right?”
Lynn seemed to have realized some profound truth.
“Please rest assured, Lady Celia. I will absolutely not reveal the contents of such a profound Trial to irrelevant personnel.”
“…”
Celia opened her mouth and finally closed it weakly.
Whatever.
Instead of wasting breath to correct the perceptions of someone with a wild imagination, it was better to save energy and have a drink of water.
“As long as you’re happy.”
Celia slumped back into her chair and waved her hand, signaling both of them to leave. She needed peace now.
Even staring blankly at the ceiling was better than facing this awkward atmosphere.
—
A few hours later.
The harsh sun scorched the earth.
Although the Church’s design was ventilated, in the summer of this Other World without air conditioning, the interior was still as hot as a giant steamer.
Celia tossed and turned on the lounge chair. The Happy Water she made earlier was long gone, and she was too lazy to make a new batch.
“It’s boiling.”
At a time like this, one should stay in an ice cellar and not come out.
Wait, an ice cellar?
Celia remembered the Alchemical Freezer she bought for a high price, which still had the Slimes locked inside.
“Elent.”
Celia called out.
The Hero Candidate, who was exercising, immediately stopped: “Present!”
“Go open the freezer.”
“Yes.”
Elent pulled open the cabinet door. White cold mist billowed out, feeling exceptionally precious in this hot room.
Thinking she would see five pieces of frozen jelly shards, the scene before her eyes was quite outside Celia’s expectations.
These Slimes weren’t frozen into ice sculptures; they still maintained their original shape, but their color had changed from emerald green to ice blue.
A layer of fine white frost covered their surface, looking like candy dusted with powdered sugar.
Celia reached out a finger and tentatively poked one of the Slimes.
It was hard, but not completely hard.
The sensation from her finger was very strange. The outer layer was hard and cold, but the interior still retained the unique toughness and elasticity of a Slime.
Pressing down firmly, she could still feel that bouncy feedback.
It was about the same as a piece of jelly frozen to the extreme.
A bold idea emerged in Celia’s mind.
Since they were so bouncy and their bodies were so cold, if they were stacked together, wouldn’t they have the elasticity of a sofa and the temperature of ice?
Most importantly, their logic was still working!
A stroke of genius!
“Elent, move them out. Bring them to the middle of the hall, and then…” Celia gestured a shape with her hands.
“Stack them like building blocks into the shape of a chair. Three on the bottom for the base, and two in the back for the backrest.”
Although Elent was full of confusion, not understanding why the Priestess wanted to play with several pieces of “frozen meat,” he still did as he was told.
Before long, a crystal-clear and strange Ice Blue Throne that emitted cold air appeared in the center of the hall.
Several ice-blue Slimes were huddled together. Because of the adhesive effect of the low temperature, they were very stably joined.
Celia walked around the throne once, nodded with satisfaction, and then sat down.
“Hiss—”
The moment her backside touched the Slime surface, a heart-chillingly cool sensation enveloped her body, followed by her back leaning against the cold backrest.
It was like diving into a pool full of ice cubes in the sweltering heat.
Heated? Nonexistent.
The unique elasticity of the Slime supported her body weight, fitting her curves better than any wooden chair and feeling cooler than any ordinary cushion.
It was very cool, very comfortable.
“I’m back to life.”
Celia let out a comfortable sigh, her whole body sinking directly into this mass of ice-blue jelly.
But this wasn’t its final form yet.
Celia half-closed her eyes, using her Spiritual Power to slightly manipulate and then connect to the underlying logic of these five Slimes.
The Cleaning Command she had written earlier still existed, though their movements had become sluggish due to being frozen.
But for Celia, this was just right. Being too fast would make it bumpy.
“Target, five meters ahead. Advance.”
Celia issued a command in her mind.
The Ice Blue Throne beneath her squirmed a bit.
“Guji… guji…”
Although the movements were a bit stiff and the speed was very slow, it truly carried Celia as it glided forward.
Did this count as inventing a Slime car? Even though this Slime car’s mileage could only last until the cold air dissipated.
But she didn’t need to walk now, and she didn’t need to sweat. She could order the Slime to go wherever she wanted.
If she was thirsty, she could even chill her Happy Water inside the Slime.
This is how technology changes lives.
This is the dream retirement form.
“Elent.”
Celia was in a great mood.
“Go, bring over The Recipe Book. I want to see if I can use this great invention to unlock some cold drink Alchemical Formulas.”
