Su Li knew that she did not have any emotional fluctuations right now.
However, when she looked at Miss Cat, she couldn’t help but feel a sense of heartache.
She didn’t know why she felt this way.
So, when Su Li was preparing the Cell Phone for Miss Cat, she included a SIM Card that had limited speed but unlimited Cellular Data.
Given Miss Cat’s personality, even if the Cellular Data speed was throttled, it would likely be enough for her needs.
“Will it cost a lot of Money?”
Miss Cat looked at Su Li and spoke, her voice tinged with distress over the potential cost.
“I, I have a software on my Cell Phone that allows me to use it without spending Money!”
As she spoke, she took out her old Cell Phone and held it in her hands, wanting to show it to Su Li.
However, seeing how slowly the network loaded on her Cell Phone, Miss Cat felt a bit embarrassed.
Miss Cat’s palms, which were holding the old Cell Phone, began to sweat.
She clicked on the software icon with the little blue key for the third time, but the small circle in the center of the screen continued to spin relentlessly, like a cat forever chasing its own tail.
Miss Cat’s thumb hovered over the crack-covered screen, hesitant to press down.
The last time she had poked it too hard, the interface froze and the screen stayed black for two full minutes.
The gentle Wind brought by Su Li as she leaned closer made the tips of Miss Cat’s ears burn, and a stray lock of hair brushed against the heated screen.
Miss Cat suddenly flipped the Cell Phone over and pressed it against her knee. Even though the plastic back cover hit her kneecap hard enough to cause pain, she didn’t dare rub it.
She stared at the seams of her faded Work Uniform and felt the old Cell Phone vibrate against her leg like a dying gasp.
It seemed another software was trying to update automatically.
“I… apology, Su Li. You should go busy yourself with other things first; its reaction time is a bit slow!”
“I’ll call you when it’s ready in a little while.”
Miss Cat spoke with embarrassment, worried that she would be a burden to Su Li.
Or rather, she worried that she wasn’t suitable to be Su Li’s good Friend.
“It’s fine, I’ll just wait. Besides, I want to know what it’s like for Cat to use this Cell Phone normally.”
Su Li said, showing no signs of impatience.
She had used Cell Phones that were even laggier than Miss Cat’s in the past.
This kind of network speed, which felt like a snail crawling, was actually nothing to her.
She didn’t mind it at all.
She was simply saddened by the thought of Miss Cat having to use a Cell Phone like this every day to look for work and chat with her.
But that wouldn’t be the case anymore.
She had topped up Miss Cat’s Cell Phone with enough Money for service to last for many years; even if Miss Cat never looked at the bill, it wouldn’t matter.
Su Li actually already knew what software Miss Cat wanted to introduce to her.
“The WiFi Master Key, a software that can crack the Home WiFi Password of others. Seeing it now inevitably makes one feel a bit nostalgic.”
Su Li also knew that Miss Cat didn’t have a SIM Card in her Cell Phone, so she could only use the Cell Phone through WiFi.
An image seemed to float into her mind of Miss Cat looking lost while holding her Cell Phone, and the smile that would appear on Miss Cat’s face once she finally connected to WiFi.
Even if the Cell Phone was very laggy, Miss Cat was likely someone who was easily satisfied.
After waiting for an unknown amount of time, the Cell Phone finally finished loading the software interface.
Miss Cat happily began to introduce the software to Su Li.
“By using this software, you can connect to the internet, and then I can chat with Su Li.”
“Before, I didn’t know why there was such a big difference between using this software and not using it.”
Miss Cat shared this with Su Li happily, a sweet smile appearing at the corners of her mouth, looking like a child sharing candy with a good Friend.
“Cat is already very impressive for being able to save so much Money.”
“It’s nothing, really. This software came already installed on the Cell Phone, and I didn’t understand it much at first. Then one day, I opened the software and clicked around randomly, and I discovered that the interfaces loaded by other software were all different. Only later did I realize that this could connect to the internet!”
Miss Cat spoke very happily. She wanted to share this software with Su Li, but then she realized that Su Li probably didn’t need it.
“Should we install this software on the New Phone?”
“Is that okay?”
Miss Cat looked at Su Li expectantly. After learning about WiFi, she had discovered free WiFi in many places.
Even the place where she worked provided free WiFi.
But when she was out and about, this software gave her a great sense of security.
“Of course it’s okay. Although Cat will have very few opportunities to use this software in the future, if Cat wants it, there’s naturally no problem with installing it.”
Su Li said as she took the New Phone that had been given to Miss Cat.
Miss Cat looked at her with a face full of anticipation, watching as she downloaded the software and entered the familiar interface.
Her eyes were filled with admiration.
“Su Li, Su Li, you’re so amazing!”
“It’s nothing. Once Cat learns how to use it later, you can be just as amazing. I’ll also teach you how to chat with me without using this software.”
Su Li held the Cell Phone and demonstrated to Miss Cat how to operate and use Cellular Data. Once the Cell Phone was handed back to Miss Cat and she tried it for herself, a happy smile immediately broke across her face.
“So amazing! It turns out I can connect to the internet and send messages to Su Li even without using that software.”
“Yes, if you do as I said, we can stay in touch even if there is no WiFi. Of course, there is a SIM Card in the Cell Phone now, so if Cat encounters anything you don’t understand in the future, you can also call me directly.”
Miss Cat nodded obediently.
“I’ll help you download the other software for your Cell Phone as well. When I gave you the Cell Phone earlier, I didn’t know your usage habits, so I just downloaded the ones I use. I’ll teach you how to use those software programs in a bit.”
Su Li said. Once Miss Cat learned how to read, she could even use it for studying.
Study software, learning to paint, and learning how to edit.
At the very least, Miss Cat would have many more opportunities.
She could read the Novels she liked, follow the TV dramas and Anime she liked, and even choose the life she wanted.
Su Li could tell Miss Cat about the things she didn’t understand before.
She could teach Miss Cat the things she couldn’t learn on her own.
Su Li didn’t know why she was doing such meddlesome things.
But she felt like she just instinctively wanted to do them.
“Okay!”
Miss Cat said, handing her old, worn-out Cell Phone over to Su Li.
She was actually quite worried because the Cell Phone was very, very slow, and other people would probably not be used to using it at all.
Su Li picked up both Cell Phones and patiently began to explain things to Miss Cat.
“The Cell Phone gets laggy because the memory is full, so you just need to clear the memory first.”
“It’s just like when a Trash Can is full of things; there’s no way to keep throwing more trash inside.”
“If you want to keep using the Trash Can, you can only clear the trash out.”
“Watch how I do it. If the Cell Phone gets laggy again in the future, just do this.”
