As the Barrier shattered,
Lingering Cloud and the two Little Qilins inside were forced a step back, completely out of their control.
Lingering Cloud’s face was filled with shock.
Their tactic had never met a match among the same year at the Main Academy.
Their matches always began with the Black and White Dual Aura enveloping the trio, forming an unbreakable Barrier, plus his own Thunder Spell in hand!
Their opponents’ fate had always been to flee around the arena, relentlessly pursued by his Thunder Spell!
Even those rare few who could fight back could never break his Black and White Dual Aura Barrier!
This Barrier, forged from the Black and White Dual Aura, was the very core of his strategy! Its sturdiness was such that even senior students at Tier 2 couldn’t shatter it!
One could say, ever since he devised this tactic, it had never truly lost.
When facing those of higher rank, they would eventually be worn down by depleted mana, but the Black and White Dual Aura Barrier itself had never been broken!
No matter how unbelievable,
The Barrier had broken, and that was that. The Thunder Spell gathered in his hands was almost complete as well!
“Fall!”
At Lingering Cloud’s command,
Countless bolts of thunder crashed down from the Thundercloud above, each one a massive, silver serpent plunging toward Lin Xing and the others!
Lin Xing wasn’t surprised. While dodging the lightning, he did his best to loose Flaming Arrows.
He wasn’t surprised that Lumiya and Little Green had managed to break the Barrier.
He’d already witnessed Lumiya’s strength more than once!
Although it appeared that Little Green had broken the Barrier this time, Lin Xing still had the feeling that Lumiya had done something behind the scenes.
He couldn’t see how, but his instincts told him as much!
Lumiya and Little Green weren’t idle, either.
The moment the Barrier shattered, they charged at Lingering Cloud’s group, heedless of the thunder falling overhead.
Boom!
As expected! A bolt of lightning struck the two of them head-on,
But, oddly enough, their momentum did not falter in the slightest!
As for Lumiya, of course—she was completely unscathed~
But how was it that even Little Green was unharmed?
Not until another bolt struck Little Green’s head did everyone realize: there was a Spatial Rift overhead!
The lightning fell upon it like a pebble dropping onto a vast lake—other than a ripple of waves, nothing happened at all!
Thus, the two advanced beneath the falling lightning, directly charging in front of Lingering Cloud’s group.
Since Lingering Cloud and the others’ tactic had been broken, there was no point maintaining it.
With a brief exchange of glances, one person and two beasts swiftly picked their opponents.
Little White Qilin, Little Jade, quickly transformed into human form, raising her tiny fists brimming with white mana as she rushed straight at Lumiya.
Two equally fair, tiny fists met each other head-on. The instant white light met golden light—
A fierce wind suddenly swept up between them!
In the next instant, they became intertwining afterimages, fists and kicks colliding in a flurry like rain!
Everyone could see it clearly: although Little White Qilin was doing her best to block, she had clearly fallen behind.
Her blocking fists kept getting pushed back, her steps retreating again and again. The white radiance around her faded a shade—she clearly couldn’t last much longer.
Yet despite this, Little Jade stubbornly gritted her teeth under Lumiya’s gaze of encouragement and appreciation, refusing to give up.
On the other side, Little Black Qilin, Little Ink, faced off against Little Green. That battlefield could only be described as tragic.
Poor Little Ink was utterly toyed with by Little Green.
Little Ink, who specialized in spellcraft, couldn’t even touch Little Green’s shadow.
Even the spectators could tell that Little Green wasn’t fighting back at all—she was simply playing with the pitiful Little Qilin up in the air~
These two beast-taming battles could only be likened to an elder toying with a child—completely one-sided.
The two Little Qilins, who hadn’t been born long, stood no chance against the two seasoned veterans!
The only normal fight was between Lin Xing and Lingering Cloud.
Lingering Cloud formed seals with one hand, Black and White Dual Aura swirling at his fingertips, sketching one talisman after another in mid-air, each flying toward Lin Xing.
In Lin Xing’s hand, golden-red flames burst forth, silver light flickered around him.
In a flash, he appeared right in front of Lingering Cloud, and the flames in his hand condensed into a blade and hurled forward!
A flaming blade, flying straight at Lingering Cloud’s face!
Strangely, Lingering Cloud stood his ground, not dodging at all. He simply turned over his palm.
A tiny Eight Trigrams Plate appeared in his hand!
The Black and White Dual Aura at his fingertips gently spun the Eight Trigrams Plate in his palm!
As the Eight Trigrams Plate slowly rotated, Lingering Cloud’s aura shifted dramatically!
His presence became ethereal and indistinct, as if a thin layer of cloud and mist had concealed his body.
The flaming blade, which should have struck his face directly, instead passed straight through his form!
Lin Xing was momentarily taken aback, not quite understanding what had happened.
And the talismans he should have dodged behind him now seemed to have eyes, homing in on him relentlessly!
With no choice, Lin Xing’s flames surged, forming a thick Fire Shield around him, blocking all the flying talismans!
He watched Lingering Cloud, now cloaked in clouds, with increased vigilance, not daring to rush in recklessly again.
Suddenly!
A hand wreathed in powerful lightning appeared behind Lin Xing, thrusting straight for his heart!
Fortunately, the Fire Shield bought Lin Xing just enough time to react!
But by the time Lin Xing spun around, the hand had already vanished!
After repeating this once or twice, Lin Xing grew increasingly frustrated.
He couldn’t figure out the hand’s pattern of appearance—it always managed to attack his blind spot by surprise!
He stopped overthinking it! With roaring flames, he charged fiercely at the Lingering Cloud veiled in mist!
As expected, that figure turned out to be nothing but an afterimage!
So where was the real Lingering Cloud hiding?
It didn’t matter! If he couldn’t guess, then he simply wouldn’t let him get close!
No longer did golden-red flames blaze around Lin Xing; instead, his aura grew contained, and silver sparks danced in his eyes!
It was the power of space from Little Green!
As the silver light in Lin Xing’s eyes grew stronger, the space around him grew more and more unstable.
Tiny cracks began to appear, which combined into larger fissures!
One after another, the big cracks appeared, until they completely enveloped Lin Xing.
When he was done, beads of sweat formed on Lin Xing’s brow, but he looked around with confidence, trying to figure out how Lingering Cloud was vanishing so silently.
At the same time, not far away, Lingering Cloud’s face had turned pale.
The Eight Trigrams Plate in his hand spun with Lin Xing’s gaze, and the Black and White Dual Aura at his fingertips grew thinner and thinner. Clearly, his mana was nearly depleted.
In fact, he had always been right in front of Lin Xing, but relied on the Yin-Yang Eight Trigrams Plate to temporarily cast a Cognition Screen over Lin Xing.
He had completely blocked himself from Lin Xing’s perception.
The eyes saw, but the brain couldn’t register him. In Lin Xing’s view, he was no different from the bricks on the arena floor.
That was why Lin Xing couldn’t find him no matter what!
But this move consumed an enormous amount of mana, and his ambushes had failed.
After several tries, he’d thought he could shatter Lin Xing’s Fire Shield and take him down at the same time! That way, he could help Little Jade and Little Ink!
Unfortunately, Lin Xing didn’t hesitate and immediately erected a Space Barrier, isolating himself from his surroundings!
Now, Lingering Cloud had no confidence that he could break through the Space Barrier and defeat Lin Xing in an ambush.
So he dismissed the Cognition Screen, and in an instant, it was as if he appeared out of thin air in Lin Xing’s sight.
Lin Xing understood as well. Now that his opponent had revealed himself, he would go all out—no more tricks and sneak attacks.
However…
Lin Xing guessed that Lingering Cloud’s ability to conceal himself must consume a tremendous amount of energy.
So—
With Lingering Cloud’s power now drastically weakened, could he really shatter the Space Barrier Lin Xing had painstakingly constructed in imitation of Little Green?
