Chapter 40: The Strange Head Maid Liya

After leaving the kitchen and hurriedly eating some of the delicious dumplings and noodle soup made by her big sister, the former Grand Commander of the Knights, Miss Elsa, straightened her stockings and apron, put on her headpiece, and made sure her appearance was perfectly neat and proper. 

She looked in the mirror at the cute silver-haired maid staring back at her; there was still a trace of the dashing knight she used to be.

Elsa shook her head. 

She was only dressing like this for her big sister’s sake.

Next, she had to escort Philina, making sure she safely reached the edge of the Demon King’s Castle and that all the humans were returned to the surface unharmed.

To avoid revealing her identity, she tied the same silk ribbon around her eyes that her sister used.

There was still time, so Elsa decided to rest for a bit. She sat down in the changing room and began thinking about future plans.

She glanced once more at the cute girl in the mirror…

Had she never realized that she actually looked pretty adorable in a maid outfit?

But all of this was just part of her sister’s disguise to satisfy the Demon King’s tastes while pretending to please her.

She fully understood her sister’s painstaking efforts~

“Elsa, are you feeling all right?”

Head Maid Liya’s voice came from behind her.

Elsa turned and gave Liya a smile. “Yes, Lady Head Maid. My body is fine.”

“Is that so?”

Liya sat down beside her. 

She wore the same uniform, had a similarly petite frame, and her purple hair made her look like a warm, caring big sister.

Yet that gentle smile always felt like it was hiding some unknowable secret.

Elsa had always been wary of Liya, from beginning to end.

Except…

For the mark on her chest.

Elsa had once made a bet with her and lost.

That day, Liya had come to her bedroom, made her take off her dress, and injected a dark power into her chest as a curse.

She hadn’t completely lost, though.

It was true that Big Sister Gabriella liked the Demon King, but Elsa simply believed her sister had gotten too deep into the act. 

After all, even if she was playing a false role, she was still using her own body to please the Demon King. 

It was inevitable that she might fall a little… Still, Elsa trusted her sister.

If the curse could be lifted, everything would be much better.

Right now, the mark on her chest was burning hot, constantly sending waves of itchy longing through her.

It wasn’t maddening or violent; it just planted a small, secret anticipation in the depths of her heart.

Anticipation… for Liya…

“Elsa, if you keep resisting, you’ll go mad, you know,” Liya said, her gaze drifting toward Elsa’s chest.

“I’ll be even stronger than Big Sister. I’ll be fine.”

“Is that so?”

There was a strange certainty in Liya’s doubtful tone.

She moved behind Elsa, reached out, and lightly touched the mark on her chest.

“Nn…”

Just a gentle brush, and it felt as though an electric current of tingling pleasure shot through her delicate body. 

Elsa instinctively arched her back, savoring the lingering waves of warmth that made her cheeks flush crimson.

Yet she still declared firmly:

“I… will be fine. I will never accept the [Gift], Miss Liya.”

“Gift? Actually, what we do isn’t really called a [Gift].”

“It isn’t?”

Elsa’s eyes narrowed as she stared at her.

“Did you lie to my sister?”

“I never lied to Lady Gabriella. The [Gift] is simply a concept: the Evil God bestowing her favor and power upon her kin~”

Liya continued touching the mark as she spoke.

“I think… it’ll be very soon now…”

“Evil God?”

“Mhm. Your sister has fallen deeply in love with her. Soon she’ll awaken her true power.”

“That’s impossible, Lady Liya…”

Elsa knew she couldn’t let this conversation continue.

She refused to believe anything could happen to Big Sister Gabriella.

But could the current Gabriella really resist the Evil God Isabella?

If the answer was no, then the moment the Evil God truly awakened, the world would be doomed!

Elsa’s mind grew hazy.

Just resisting the successive waves of electric pleasure left her burning hot, almost moaning aloud. 

But if she let out a sound, wouldn’t that mean she was admitting Liya was right?

Even if it wasn’t a [Gift], she would still be turned into a kin.

She had to endure.

“Lady Elsa, why refuse to accept demonkind?” Liya suddenly asked. Noticing Elsa’s rising temperature, her touch became even gentler.

“I…”

“Is there anyone on the human side worth clinging to? The Church’s humans are nothing but infighting trash.”

Elsa retained her rationality, yet she found herself deeply agreeing with Liya’s words.

Not just about abandoning her sister.

Even in recent years, the Church had been filled with internal strife.

Many fought over the position of “Goddess,” trying to prove they were the chosen one from the prophecy who would oppose the Evil God.

They treated those around them as enemies; the atmosphere was suffocating.

Compared to all that, seeing her sister suddenly grow horns didn’t feel like a big deal at all.

Yes.

Why exactly was she still clinging to the human side?

Because of her sister.

As long as her sister hadn’t given up on being human, how could she?

But… was her sister really just acting?

She harbored no hostility toward the Demon King at all. 

In fact, she frequently accepted the Demon King’s affection.

The more Elsa thought about it, the hotter her body became.

If her sister really did abandon humanity…

“Ha… ah…”

Unknowingly, a soft, suggestive gasp escaped Elsa’s lips.

Liya stopped at just the right moment, withdrawing her hand.

Elsa stood up and walked toward the door.

She would never let Liya sway her.

But before leaving, she still voiced the question buried deep in her heart:

“Miss Liya… just what exactly are you?”

“I’m the same as you: merely a follower of Lady Gabriella.”

Liya gave a slight bow.

When Gabriella brought Tina to the lounge to eat, she discovered Elsa had already left.

As expected, Tina received the exact same treatment as Elsa—she was instantly surrounded by the maids.

Unlike the other cute little maids, the Ice Saint Tina was taller and more voluptuous, the perfect mature big-sister type.

Her quiet, reserved nature gave off an aura that made her hard to approach.

She was even more mature than Elsa, though she still retained a trace of girlish petite charm and youthfulness.

Tina wasn’t particularly nervous. 

She often attended banquets and formal dinners; the calm, icy elegance she had honed in public settings came naturally, earning admiring sighs from the demon maids.

Many of them knew she was an incredibly powerful human.

But since she had been personally brought back by Lady Gabriella, she must be just as soft and adorable as little sister Elsa, right!

Seeing the maids practically vibrating with excitement, Gabriella sat beside Tina just in case.

Tina leaned close and whispered nervously:

“Where did Lady Elsa go?”

“She’s fine~”
