“We haven’t had a single person injured so far. The zombies simply can’t break through, all thanks to the Demon-Hunting Nuns,” Director General Mei said to Samimi.
The entire Great Severance Team was composed entirely of Demon-Hunting Nuns, so no matter what Closs said, there was little room for debate.
“Ten Thousand Night Severance! Severance Night Severance! Night Night Severance—”
Amid the deafening sounds, on the third night, a horde of undead burst out from the depths of the Undead Forest.
For the members of the Great Severance Team who had each killed over a hundred zombies on average, witnessing such a scene stirred no panic within them.
The Adjudication Knights drew their greatswords one after another, their eyes cold and emotionless, moving with machine-like precision to mercilessly slay all enemies pressing against the city walls.
After two days of intense battles, the Expedition Team had no signs of weariness; under the leadership of the Demon-Hunting Nuns, they had only grown more united.
“See that? This is exactly why the Will of the Queen of the Blood-Sucking Ghosts wants to come out and wield her Demon Wind Magic to burn our supplies. Because the zombie horde no longer affects us, nor can it curse our will. This is great news for us, it means the Queen of the Blood-Sucking Ghosts is starting to panic. If we didn’t have a way to counter her, we’d be doomed.”
Samimi still stood on the collapsed tower, unfazed.
But she had already sent out her fierce Niubao and Captain Frolro to break through the city walls and hunt the zombies to the fullest extent.
Meanwhile, she had changed the enchantments on her companions. Samimi placed the Hell King’s Crown on Captain Frolro, imbuing her with magical enchantments so she could slash through the undead beneath the city walls with ease.
Niubao wielded the Enchanted Holy Hammer of Thorns, glowing with scorching Salt Flame as he charged into the zombie lake, making seven in and seven out runs, specializing in killing the Giant Undead amidst the horde.
At the same time, Qiqi Zhu and the Golden-Haired Elf Big Sister took their positions flanking Samimi, transforming into the Scattering Artillery Platform and the UB Attack Artillery Platform, mercilessly shooting and killing zombies across the battlefield.
Qiqi Zhu’s scattering attacks were especially effective against zombies with mutilated flesh, nearly as powerful as Salt Flame itself.
The Golden-Haired Elf Big Sister’s arrows were enchanted with Salt Flame, making her a huge killing force for the Great Severance Team; any special zombie that appeared was instantly pierced by her flaming arrows.
“Is it a good thing that the Will of the Queen of the Blood-Sucking Ghosts has manifested and begun casting spells?” Closs asked skeptically beside the Demon-Hunting Nuns.
“You just don’t understand. Everything is going according to my plan,” Samimi chuckled lightly. “The Will of the Queen of the Blood-Sucking Ghosts would have remained dormant because the Divine Official was focusing entirely on breaking the seal. But now, we’ve forced her to come out. Do you know what that means?”
Closs was about to doubt further, but Samimi continued, boasting with confidence.
“Does that mean the Queen of the Blood-Sucking Ghosts can no longer break the seal?” Left Hand asked seriously.
“That’s right. You understand perfectly, Lord Left Hand. The awakening of her Will doesn’t mean the seal is broken; it means the seal has been reinforced. It’s counterintuitive, something no one would expect—but I saw it coming,” Samimi smiled.
“Thanks to you. Without your intelligence, we’d probably be panicking right now,” said the Papal Left Hand with genuine admiration.
“Nun, can you enchant me? I want to go out and kill zombies,” Director General Mei pleaded softly on the side.
“Alright. With my current magic power, I can enchant up to five people. I hope you won’t let me down,” Samimi said, pressing her palm, casting the Blessing of the Heaven’s Attendant.
A fiery glow sparked between the seam of Director General Mei’s greatsword and its sheath as she leapt off the city walls.
“Charge!” The moment she landed, she unleashed a fiery slash, ruthlessly clearing a large group of zombies.
Though wielding a greatsword meant slower speed and relatively low damage, the lack of a Buff made it even harder.
Now, Niubao, Demon Hunt Captain Frolro, Fatty Qiqi Zhu, the Golden-Haired Elf Big Sister, the Azure Moon Rampaging Dragon, and even Director General Mei had all entered their killing modes, slaughtering zombies to such an extent that even the undead tide could no longer overwhelm them.
By the way, the Azure Moon Rampaging Dragon was killing solely by personal strength throughout the battle, without any Buff from Miworm.
Of these six, four had been empowered and enchanted by Samimi to enter their god-killing modes. Samimi was clearly the core of the team, no question about it.
Watching her teammates unleash their dazzling attacks, the one feeling most powerless was still Closs.
Closs had been standing behind the ruined tower for a while, dazed and completely unnecessary to intervene. No one needed her help, and her expression had darkened.
Damn Samimi. She said she could enchant five people but had only enchanted four. Why didn’t she enchant herself? If she enchanted her own helmet with Holy Flame, she could wreak havoc too.
“You said you could enchant five people, why only four? How can you slack off like this? Enchant me, give me Eagle Eye. Do your duty as a Divine Official properly!” Closs shouted, complaining incessantly, her tone sharp and stubborn, clearly unaware of what discipline meant.
If it were Pure White Knight Fabiana or the socially awkward Little Miworm, they definitely wouldn’t demand support or enchantments like this.
But Closs was different; she didn’t care.
“…Fine.”
Samimi turned her head and glanced at her helplessly.
But at that moment, Closs’s arrow ignited with Salt Flame.
This caused the zombie tide to surge even more fiercely, pushing the undead horde back to the edge of the forest.
They killed every single zombie that emerged—one zombie out, one zombie dead; ten out, ten dead.
Originally, this was a simple “Miworm vs. Zombie Horde” city defense game, so how did the zombies manage to push the front line all the way to the city gates?
This game’s design was seriously unbalanced! It was like a boss battle where zombies suddenly stormed the city gate? How was that reasonable? Could you even keep playing like this?
Samimi didn’t even need to watch the frontline anymore; the people had already retreated, watching the city collapse.
She knew the Will of the Queen of the Blood-Sucking Ghosts was lingering within her team.
A slight smile appeared on Samimi’s lips. She believed the expression on the Queen of the Blood-Sucking Ghosts’ face was probably one of growing panic.
And so…
The third night in the city! Bloody slaughter! Wild killing! Frantic killing!
The Expedition Team easily held strong until dawn, their willpower growing stronger with every fight, their mentality as solid as rock, never faltering.
Each of them had high intelligence and rationality, all legendary adventurers capable of facing even the most brutal battles head-on.
Samimi didn’t bother hiding anymore. She stood directly on the roof of the ruined tower, facing the fortress, silently meditating and wildly drawing on the magic power in the distorted space, converting it into her own magic energy.
“King of Scabbards, thank you for your sheath.”
She had no need for magic reserves; her magic power was overflowing.
As she often said, the moment she left the Newbie Village, she had taken a wrong turn and challenged the high-difficulty hidden dungeon, the Continental Magic Academy, where she was rewarded with three Legendary Skill Books.
Even facing dungeons full of Earth Demons, she could still easily push through.
