As Asteris and Delucia had said, Dexilensi had indeed become much more obedient after that incident.
She hadn’t made another inappropriate move, but on the surface, she still acted very friendly—as if she had never attempted to assassinate Dolosa at all.
“Does she really think she was sleepwalking that day?”
Dolosa stood on the second floor, watching Dexilensi busily cleaning downstairs, and let out a cold laugh.
“She’s really something—lying to others so much that she’s started lying to herself too.”
Asteris and Delucia sat nearby on chairs, laughing as they responded to Dolosa’s comment:
“People like her are the most dangerous. To fool others, she even fools herself. Of course, she’s still looking for an opportunity. As soon as she’s stronger than you, she’ll try to kill you.”
Delucia suddenly thought of something and laughed loudly, leaving Dolosa confused.
She turned to Delucia, “What are you laughing at?”
“I just suddenly remembered someone telling Dexilensi that they were the child most loved by Mom, which made Dexilensi shift her attention from Illucy to that person… she ended up bringing trouble on herself~”
Delucia’s sarcastic remark successfully angered Dolosa.
But since Delucia was speaking the truth, Dolosa said nothing and just flicked her sleeve, heading straight back to the Practice Room, leaving Asteris and Delucia giggling on the spot.
Downstairs, Dexilensi stopped cleaning and slowly looked up toward the two twins playing upstairs, but after a quick glance, she lowered her head again and resumed cleaning seriously.
She was smart.
After realizing her own weakness, she no longer planned to try killing the other children—there was no benefit for her, and she would almost certainly fail.
If she were suspected by Liang Lai again, one or two times would be fine, but not a third or fourth.
If it happened again, Liang Lai would definitely be suspicious and kick her out.
If she was going to kill, she had to do it thoroughly, without leaving a trace.
She couldn’t do that yet.
“I have to work hard, work even harder… so that only I exist in Liang Lai’s eyes.”
This was Dexilensi’s thought.
And so, a month and a half passed.
The worst thing still happened—just as Asteris and Delucia feared, Dexilensi truly was a genius when it came to the Crystalization Ability.
“We’ve been spying outside the Practice Room. That girl really is talented. But honestly, you’re talented too, Dolosa.”
Asteris didn’t hold back her praise, causing Dolosa’s cheeks to flush red as she actually became modest.
“Y-you’re pretty good too, Asteris. Your learning ability is strong and you’re talented.”
This was unusual—Dolosa had never praised anyone so much before, which made Asteris and Delucia widen their eyes in surprise.
Seeing their shocked expressions, Dolosa felt a bit embarrassed and flicked her sleeve again, leaving.
However, the month and a half was otherwise peaceful with nothing else happening.
The only incident was around mid-second month—just these past few days.
Dolosa, unable to resist getting close to Liang Lai, conspired with Asteris and Delucia to inject poison into Liang Lai’s body once again.
Dolosa really enjoyed this closeness with Liang Lai.
She hadn’t realized that she was no longer so opposed to Asteris and Delucia being close to Liang Lai.
In fact, when she saw the twins kissing Liang Lai, the pang of jealousy she used to feel no longer spread through her heart.
Perhaps the power of habit was truly frightening. Or maybe she was slowly accepting the twins.
Yet, while the three of them were fumbling over Liang Lai in the room, a shadow quietly appeared outside the door.
It was Illucy.
She had suspected something was off about these three for some time—she had noticed last time but hadn’t dared to investigate.
Now, she had finally mustered the courage.
It was night, and without any lights, people had no shadows.
Delucia couldn’t easily detect if someone was eavesdropping outside by their shadow.
Illucy had recently figured this out, which explained her boldness today.
Illucy carefully pushed the door open, making no sound.
Among the three, Illucy’s hearing was the best, probably because of her “Shadow” nature.
The door cracked open just enough for Illucy to clearly see inside the room.
At the sight before her, Illucy’s eyes widened, her mouth gaping in shock.
“Th-this…!”
Her breath quickened; she couldn’t believe her own eyes.
She lifted her hand and rubbed her eyes twice, thinking she must be confused or dreaming.
But she wasn’t confused or dreaming.
Everything she saw was real—Dolosa was currently sitting on the Saintess, doing indescribable things. Illucy had never seen such a scene before, and she didn’t even know what they were doing.
The child was extremely innocent. Although her feelings for the Saintess weren’t pure, she had never considered anything “of that sort.”
Mainly because she had never read novels or seen pictures about such matters.
Now, her first encounter with these things wasn’t through a novel or pictures—it was a “live broadcast,” and she saw it all completely.
She stared in stunned silence, a strange heat creeping up her body.
Why was her body so hot?
Illucy tugged at the collar of her clothes, revealing a large patch of her fair skin, much like Liang Lai lying exposed on the bed above.
Poor, innocent child—her eyes glued tightly to the movements on the bed.
Just as Dolosa was about to continue, Asteris poked her shoulder and then pointed to herself, signaling it was her turn.
Dolosa reluctantly rolled to the side, watching as Asteris sat on top.
Illucy noticed Delucia was gone, but she saw Asteris’s dark shadow writhing and understood where Delucia must be hiding.
“What… what are they going to do now?” Illucy wondered inwardly.
Her heart pounded wildly as she stood outside the door, curious about the twins’ next actions.
At the same time, she felt stranger and stranger, her legs tightly crossed.
