“Move aside!”
Sensing something was wrong, Aisia immediately pushed past the two guards.
The guards dared not stop her and let her walk straight in.
Then Aisia witnessed a scene she would never forget.
Inside the tent, a girl with twin ponytails dressed in light demon hunter armor knelt on the ground, gripping a delicate little foot tightly with both hands.
The owner of that small foot was leaning awkwardly against a chair, her silver-white bobbed hair disheveled, her face flushed bright red.
Truth was covering her eyes with her arms, gasping heavily.
“What are you doing…?”
Aisia was stunned and confused.
Just as she was about to ask, she saw the twin-tailed girl open her mouth without hesitation and take the silver-haired girl’s toes inside.
Warm breath and a wet tongue swept over again, sending a tingling current through Truth’s entire body.
“Wah!”
Truth straightened up in fright, then the other small foot began kicking Rachel’s face repeatedly.
“Stop! I said stop! You bastard, I’m really going to kick you to pieces! Waaah!”
“My weakness lies in Truth,” Rachel shouted with her toes in her mouth, her speech muffled.
Truth’s counterattacks didn’t faze her at all; instead, they only made her more excited.
The moans of a quasi-Saintess were truly delightful—Aisia wished she had a recording device to capture them…
“I’m really going to kill you!” Truth gritted her teeth and yelled, weakly hitting Rachel’s head with her hands.
Her pink pupils rapidly turned blood red.
She had already told her to stop, that she didn’t need to apologize anymore, yet this girl had apparently gotten addicted to licking her feet and refused to let go.
Don’t ask—it was because her apologies weren’t sincere enough, so she had to keep apologizing longer to prove Rachel’s determination!
“How dare you… bully a quasi-Saintess behind her back!”
Seeing the scene before her, Aisia narrowed her eyes in furious trembling.
No wonder the Goddess said faith at the border was gradually diminishing and needed urgent attention.
She had wondered how bad it could be, but it had come to this!
It was so severe that even demon hunters had started ignoring the Saintess!
One of the demon hunters’ sacred duties was to protect the Life Saintess to the death, but here was the reality right in front of her…
“Stop this at once!”
Aisia’s whole body radiated a dense Life Energy, and the emerald Divine Pendant on her wrist shone brilliantly.
“Hum!”
In the next moment, a solid Life shield enveloped Truth’s body and simultaneously flung Rachel away from her.
“What’s going on?!”
Rachel rubbed her sore backside and angrily stood up.
Who dared attack her inside the military camp?
She turned her head to see a girl wearing Saintess robes with long blue hair—not much taller than Truth—looking at her angrily.
Behind the blue-haired girl stood three demon hunters, including Morpheus, all watching her with admiration.
Morpheus silently praised Rachel:
“You actually dared to lay hands on a quasi-Saintess. I have to admit, Rachel, you’re the boldest demon hunter in the world.”
“Aisia… Saintess?!”
Rachel immediately recognized the girl’s identity.
As a demon hunter, being able to identify all the Saintesses was essential knowledge.
Saintess?
Truth also turned her head curiously toward Aisia.
But her body was too weak, and she had no strength.
Suddenly, she lost balance and fell from the chair, shattering the Life shield as she hit the ground.
Aisia quickly rushed forward to check on her.
“Are you okay?!”
Aisia flipped Truth over and cradled her in her arms, but Truth only heaved heavy breaths without saying anything.
“Sorry, I got a little tired from yelling earlier—let me catch my breath for a moment. You go take care of that twin-tailed girl for me,” Truth said, slipping out of her demon state without Aisia noticing anything wrong.
After being bullied like this, it was outrageous!
Aisia examined Truth carefully and thankfully found no serious injuries.
But even without serious harm, she would never let Rachel off.
She glared fiercely at Rachel.
“Someone, lock her up in the dungeon! I want her severely punished!”
“What?!”
Rachel was shocked.
Then Morpheus and the others held her down without hesitation and dragged her outside the tent.
“Wait, this isn’t what you think! Truth can explain!” Rachel cried out…
“So you’re also a victim?”
In the mist, Ariel leaned against the Old Tree, deep in conversation with Suna.
After revealing the true reason she had been trapped inside the mist, Ariel shared to break down barriers how she and Truth had been toyed with by demons.
“Yes, all I want now is to save my friend.
She’s been completely brainwashed by the demon and now treats it like a deity.”
“That kind of thing happens quite often down south.
Some people with a little power but ill intentions like to impersonate deities to deceive others, just to feel superior.”
“Is that so? Then how can I break the demon’s brainwashing on my friend?” Suna asked.
Now, both of them were in the same boat.
Ariel confidently raised a finger.
“It’s simple—just kill the so-called ‘deity’.
In the minds of most followers, deities are immortal.
So once the ‘deity’ dies, the brainwashing naturally disappears.”
“But that demon’s strength…”
“I know it’s strong, but that’s only for now.
It might not stay that way,” Ariel gave Suna a knowing look.
“Senior, you mean…?”
“Like I said before, your magical talent is very high, and you have a natural affinity with the Fire Element.
So right now, a very bright path lies before you:
To meet the Heavenly Fire and become a Cataclysm Mage!”
Cataclysm Mage?!
The moment she heard those words, Suna froze.
Why was she suddenly being asked to become an outcast?
“Isn’t that… a bad idea?”
Suna asked nervously.
As a lifelong devout citizen of Deya City under the faith of the Life Goddess, becoming an outcast was…
“Hmph, I knew you’d say that.
My juniors were all like you before becoming Cataclysm Mages.”
Ariel suddenly leaned close to Suna and whispered in her ear:
“What if I told you that the creation myth of the deities you’ve heard all your life is false?
That this world wasn’t created by gods at all?
And that the Five Great Catastrophes existed long before the gods?”
After Ariel’s words, Suna felt as if struck by lightning.
Her face was full of shock and disbelief.
Because what Ariel said was the bold hypothesis she and Teacher Lister had secretly researched about ancient history!
“Ah!”
“Huh? Judging by your expression, I guess your faith in the Life Goddess isn’t very devout either.”
Ariel looked teasingly at the uncomfortable Suna, who hurriedly turned her face away.
“This… is a serious matter for me.
I need to go back and think carefully about it.”
Ariel beamed inwardly and pressed her advantage.
“No rush, you’ve got plenty of time to decide.
By the way, how about I teach you some Fire Magic?
Not Cataclysm Magic, so you can safely use it.
I’ll teach you High Explosive Group Burn—how’s that?”
