Until school was dismissed, Aurora still hadn’t seen Leonora anywhere, and Albert hadn’t appeared again either.
A lingering doubt unsettled Aurora’s heart; she wanted to know why Leonora knew her, and why she felt as if she had seen her somewhere before, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t recall.
Not only that, but according to the pink-haired girl just now, she had actually served as a maid for that witch named Beatrice?
This was even more unbelievable. If Aurora’s guess was correct, that witch should have been the one who kidnapped her. If she had really served as her maid, she would have remembered it.
A thought appeared in her mind — could it be that she truly had lost a segment of her memories?
But her sister had told her that she was cursed by that witch and had slept for more than ten years before waking up. Could it be that she hadn’t actually been asleep, but had instead lost all memories from that period?
The chaotic thoughts only grew inside her. After swimming to shore from this sea of confusion, she finally felt these speculations were too absurd.
Losing over ten years of memories? How could such a thing happen to her? She must be overthinking it.
With that, she picked up a few books and prepared to leave.
Her sister had said she would come pick her up before, so she must have been waiting outside for a while now.
The witches around her mounted their brooms, one after another flying out through the windows. Even though the windows had the words “No Entry or Exit” written on them, the witches didn’t seem to care at all.
This made the classroom door almost exclusively a private passage for Aurora.
After stepping out of the classroom, Aurora looked up at the witches flying freely in the sky, then glanced down at the wooden floor beneath her feet. A twinge of envy arose in her heart.
‘I want a broomstick and a set of witch’s clothes,’ she thought, but she couldn’t bring herself to say it out loud.
She was clearly the older sister, yet she always troubled her younger sister to do this and that. That was hardly the behavior of a responsible elder sister.
“When did I become so materialistic…”
“I definitely wasn’t like this before.”
She muttered to herself, feeling a bit down.
The recent drastic change in her living conditions had made her start to enjoy the noble lifestyle.
Maybe it was because of that that her emotions had begun to shift.
“I can’t become that kind of person…”
Saying this, she slapped her own cheek with a bit of determination.
“As the elder sister, if I want something, I have to go get it myself!”
She muttered this to herself, just as she looked up and saw her sister standing not far away.
Her cheeks instantly flushed pink, and she stared at her sister for a moment, stunned.
Had her sister seen her earlier expression?
Pretending to stay calm, she hurried over to her sister.
She forced a smile onto her face and whispered, “Let’s go home.”
“… Sister.”
“Hm?”
“What do you want to fight for? I can help you!”
“…..”
She was caught.
“N-Nothing, haha.”
Waving her hand, she tried to brush it off awkwardly.
“Oh, by the way, I’ll cook lunch today!”
This clumsy change of subject was obviously no match for Lorebel’s sharp eyes.
She wanted to know everything about her sister, to fulfill every wish her sister had.
If she sensed that her sister was hiding something, she would do everything she could to find out.
She also knew that her sister was stubborn in some ways, so she used to resort to acting cute or crying to win her sympathy and get her to open up.
But now it was different. If she acted like that again, her sister would surely laugh at her.
Besides, she now wanted to present herself as a mature and reliable person in front of her sister. She didn’t want to be treated like a child anymore.
“Is there anything you want, sister?”
“Whatever you want, I’ll bring it to you.”
“I-I don’t really want anything, haha.”
She casually pointed to some wildflowers nearby and said, “Actually, I just want a flower.”
“But weren’t you just looking at the sky a moment ago?”
“I…”
She hadn’t expected that her sister had even noticed that little movement. Had she been watching her all the time since leaving the school?
But where? The classroom was on the tenth floor; could it be some kind of strange magic?
Seeing her sister reluctant to talk, Lorebel decided to find the answer herself.
She looked up at the sky — the deep blue sky, the fluffy white clouds, the blazing sun, and… the flying witches.
Suddenly, she glanced down at Aurora’s feet.
Then, as if she had just realized something, she said, “I see…”
“I was so careless, sister.”
“I completely forgot to buy a set of witch’s gear.”
“A witch’s robe, witch’s hat, and a magic broom…”
Seeing Lorebel list these off like a catalog, even mentioning witch’s underwear, Aurora quickly interrupted, “I-I don’t need those! The academy gives us some stuff that’s pretty useful, like this wand, see!”
She took out a stick from her pocket. It was badly decayed and looked like it would snap if bent — who knew how long it had been sitting in the warehouse.
“… Looks like we need to add a wand to the list too.”
“I said I don’t need it!”
Aurora was a bit annoyed. Although she knew her sister meant well, this was a matter of an elder sister’s pride — she simply wouldn’t give in!
“Those things you mentioned, I can actually make them myself!”
“I can make a witch’s hat, robe, even boots just by looking at them once.”
“As for brooms, you can just grab any old one, like… the one at home!”
“And…”
Before she could finish, her lips were suddenly covered by a hand.
Lorebel looked into her eyes, her expression somewhat unhappy.
“Sis, stop talking about making clothes.”
“You don’t need to make any more clothes now. Whatever you want, I can give you something better.”
“So, don’t touch the sewing machine anymore.”
Her tone carried a hint of command, which made Aurora feel uncomfortable.
She knew why Lorebel didn’t want her to sew clothes anymore — half of Aurora’s previous life had been spent at the sewing machine.
But she didn’t dislike sewing. In fact, it had been her greatest joy to make clothes personally for Lorebel. It was something she genuinely enjoyed.
Looking into Lorebel’s eyes, she softly said, “Actually, I still really like making clothes, especially for you.”
Lorebel was taken aback for a moment. A flicker of darkness appeared in her eyes, but it quickly vanished.
She took Aurora’s hands in hers and moved closer.
“Then how about this, sister.”
“You make me a set of clothes, and I’ll buy your clothes.”
“But don’t buy anything too expensive.”
“Ha.”
About to buy the most expensive.
