Once again abandoning her teammates, Li Xunsi ran up to the entrance of a mountain temple, only to see a path leading straight up to the summit.
On the stone slab at the gate, it read: [Huanggua Temple].
“It’s over, literally all the guests are hunting me down.”
As she climbed the mountain road, she tried to take off her cassock, thinking that if she wasn’t wearing it, no one would know she was the Tang Monk, and they wouldn’t chase her.
But the cassock clung to her like sticky toffee, impossible to remove.
However, the cloth robe underneath could be taken off, but then she’d return to that infamous image of the naked red maiden from before, which was far too indecent and inconvenient for action.
Back when she fought the Spider Demon Sisters, she hadn’t been at her peak, since she still wasn’t used to fighting others while naked.
It was too embarrassing—she had to worry about accidental exposure and couldn’t move freely.
Now, wearing the cloth robe, she was no longer half-naked and could unleash her full strength.
But that said, if she ran into a Whale, she’d still have to run.
That Medusa just now was obviously the Whale among Whales, so much so that she wasn’t even human anymore, just a complete monster.
Her pay-to-win level was even higher than the last time she encountered the Sky-Gouging Great Sage, though the Ding Shen Spell from last time was still a bit more threatening.
Aiya had also said that last time was just the test server; now was the official server, and the guests seemed to be a whole level stronger.
“Sha sha sha! Sha sha sha!”
The woods on both sides of the temple gate kept making eerie rustling sounds, like some huge creature was crawling and hunting.
“Sometimes, these virtual Dream Realms being too real isn’t a good thing.”
Even the battle-hardened Li Xunsi was a little shaken by this environment where every bush and tree seemed an enemy, and her legs carried her flying up the path.
Even though it was a sunny, cloudless day, she felt a chill down her spine, the terror was overwhelming.
These Private Server Dream Realms were constructed so realistically, and combined with the top-tier Dream Chamber’s deepest immersion, it was nothing like the gunfight Dream Realms she played at home at night.
Li Xunsi was starting to lose track of what was real and what was virtual—maybe reality wasn’t even as real as this place.
From time to time, indecent moans drifted from the woods, so filthy and disgraceful that they made her scowl.
Li Xunsi had basically turned this Private Server Dream Realm into a marathon, running from the foot of the mountain all the way to the summit, where she found a flat expanse of white bricks—a place with no apparent purpose.
She didn’t even know why she’d lost her mind and stepped onto this suspicious white-brick ground.
Li Xunsi looked around as she walked, taking in the sweeping view from the mountaintop.
Why did she say she’d lost her mind?
Simple: anyone could tell this was a boss battle arena.
Sure enough, the next moment, faint noises sounded all around.
“Huff! Huff! Huff! Huff!”
Suddenly, several disheveled young girls flew out from the woods, crashing heavily at Li Xunsi’s feet, gasping for breath, trembling, their long legs like newborn fawns, unable to stand, drooling even after being healed.
On their pale skin, red grid-like marks crisscrossed—they must have suffered some kind of attack.
Each was incredibly resilient, but their state clearly wasn’t from falling; they must have endured some sort of “pleasurable” torment.
No need to look closely—these young girls were definitely just chicks thrown in for the guests’ enjoyment.
“Bang! Bang!”
From the direction the girls had flown, several huge trees snapped as a colossal creature broke out from within.
It was a Centipede Demon, her upper body that of a beautiful, mature woman in a white-collar office suit, hair disheveled like a ghost, and her lower body a centipede stretching over ten meters—sinister and terrifying.
The Centipede Demon held two pitch-black Whip-Swords, each with a three-meter blade.
She slowly lifted her head, her complexion pale, perfectly fitting the look of an unhinged maniac.
Paired with her outfit, she looked just like an office worker who had lost her mind.
“Tang Monk, I’ve searched so hard for you.” The Centipede Demon spotted Li Xunsi and grinned widely, clearly delighted.
But the happier she looked, the unhappier Li Xunsi became.
In an instant, the Centipede Demon’s hundred legs powered up like a bus charging straight at Li Xunsi.
Her speed was astonishing, catching Li Xunsi off guard.
The white-brick ground was wide open, with no obstacles—no room for her to maneuver.
Li Xunsi suddenly sidestepped and sprang away, letting the Centipede Demon rush past and dodging the attack with ease.
But the Centipede Demon immediately whipped her tail back in a violent strike at Li Xunsi’s face—a fearsome, unpredictable counterattack.
Faced with such inhuman moves, there was no strategy—only pure reflexes.
After all, who fought giant centipedes on a daily basis?
But Li Xunsi suddenly dropped flat to the ground, the centipede tail sweeping just over her face.
The sight of those whipping red centipede legs was pure horror, but she was unharmed.
Not only that, Li Xunsi even grabbed one of the centipede’s legs, using its momentum to slide along the ground and get flung up by the tail.
She flipped midair and landed on the Centipede Demon’s back, charging forward along the centipede’s shell.
“Lock of True Love!”
Li Xunsi’s sense of balance was extraordinary, as if she were on level ground.
In an instant, she circled behind and locked her arms tightly around the Centipede Demon’s neck.
“You! Let go of me! What do you think you’re doing?”
The Centipede Demon’s eyes cleared up a bit, gritting her teeth.
She never expected a mere chick to fight back against her.
“Didn’t you recognize me? The money you spent is coming back to bite you now! You guys gang up and make your own little rules! This Dream Realm is a battle royale, not for your illegal team-ups.” Li Xunsi hissed into her ear, voice fierce and menacing.
“Courting death! Just because you beat a few newbies, you think you can act this cocky?” The Centipede Demon thrust her hands forward, and the two pitch-black Whip-Swords suddenly segmented apart.
She swung her arms with force, lashing the sword-blades behind her like whips, aiming for Li Xunsi.
“Crack! Crack!”
Li Xunsi didn’t budge, letting the Whip-Swords strike her body.
A scorching pain shot through her entire being.
“Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack!”
The Centipede Demon kept swinging at high speed, her whip technique top-notch—maybe another pay-to-win move.
She whipped the two swords into a flurry of phantom strikes, mercilessly beating Li Xunsi behind her.
“Hahahaha! Let’s see how long you can last! Hahahaha!”
The Centipede Demon laughed as she lashed, clearly a sadist.
After a hundred lashes, she still didn’t feel the two fair arms locked around her neck loosen in the slightest—in fact, they tightened, making her feel a hint of suffocation.
“You think this pain can defeat me?” Li Xunsi whispered into the Centipede Demon’s ear again.
Her voice was steady and domineering, with a faintly bloody edge.
