Dohee’s sudden contact left Magia confused.
But as a guild leader, this wasn’t something he could just ignore.
Getting the server’s first hidden achievement and then the server’s only dungeon boss RP that was understandable.
Magia had enough luck to pull that off.
However, once Moogun poured fuel on the fire with his roleplaying, the stream’s viewer count shot past 50,000.
Even Dohee rarely saw these numbers outside of concerts or special broadcasts.
And if they didn’t meet the expectations of this massive audience?
Things would get messy. Not just a minor issue there would be a full-blown fire.
A fire so big that even the managers wouldn’t be able to handle it.
So, what were those 50,000 viewers hoping for?
They wanted Magia to keep roleplaying with Moogun.
Or to do something as the Demon King.
Whatever it was, they were waiting, eager to see more.
And if he just left the screen split into six sections like this?
People would immediately call out Parallel for prioritizing promotion over content.
They’d say they lost their touch.

So, this was the best move for now at least as long as Magia stayed in character as the Demon King.
[ Jia’s Manager: Is this good now?]
[Me: Yep, perfect!]
[ Jia’s Manager: But won’t this affect new viewer engagement…?]
[Me: It’s fine.]
[Me: We already have plenty of new viewers.]
[Me: You know it too. I’m at 20,000, and Maru’s over 13,000. The usual ratio is totally different.]
[ Jia’s Manager: That’s true.]
[Me: Just relax and play the Demon King role for a bit.]
[Me: Actually, a Demon King’s Castle tour wouldn’t be a bad idea.]
[Me: Show where everything is, give a rundown of the layout.]
[Me: We’ve been grinding non-stop, and honestly, it was getting repetitive anyway, right?]
[ Jia’s Manager: ?]
[ Jia’s Manager: I wasn’t getting tired of it.]
[Me: Just say you were, quick.]
[ Jia’s Manager: Wow. So. Tired.]
There was some resistance, but in the end, Jia’s stream setup was sorted.
At least he was a cooperative employee.
Since, well he was already starting the Demon King’s Castle tour.
[So before the castle officially opens at 10, I’ll give you all a sneak peek. It’d be great if more of you stopped by and enjoyed the content it helps Wicker too.]
It was hilarious the Demon King personally advertising for people to come invade his castle.
But this was all part of Magia’s user engagement and viral marketing strategy.
After all, the more people stormed the castle, the more he could fight and the more Serena potions he’d get to drink.
* * *
And so, two hours later, at 10 PM.
It was finally time for the Demon King’s Castle to open for the first time.
As promised, Loopko’s raid team was the first to enter, having declared yesterday that they’d take on the dungeon first.
If this was just a pay-to-clear run, it wouldn’t be nearly this popular.
But with the prestige of a first clear, an exclusive mount, and prime streaming content on the line, for streamers, this was a high-stakes attempt.
– [Whisper] Wicker: Sorry to burden you with this responsibility, but since you’re leading the first run, we’d really appreciate your best effort!
– [Whisper] Wicker: You’ve got that Skeleton Knight debuff, so your HP is stuck at 25%, right? We allowed potion use, but it’s still gonna be tough! Good luck!! ^^b
Which meant that when it came to the actual battle, they were going to give it their all.
RP wasn’t exactly Magia’s strong suit, so he planned to talk as he normally did.
But since he had taken on this role willingly, he’d see it through properly.
And most importantly Rapitz Potions.
Rapitz Potions were an absolute godsend.
“Alright then, let’s spectate the first party’s run.”
The Demon King’s Castle was cutting-edge in its own way.
Sitting on the throne in the audience chamber allowed him to observe the raid teams in spectator mode.
All he did was execute a simple sit command,
but maybe because the game had a special animation for it,
or maybe because he’d set his camera to third-person to show his own face,
people in the chat were impressed by how fitting it looked.
— That slouched posture is actually kinda cool. ㄷㄷ
— The contrast between this and his usual streams is messing with my head… lmao
— That armor looks way too terrifying, though. LOL
— It’s a classic trope super strong armor, tiny cute girl inside.
— But in Wicker Town, it’s not a girl, it’s a skeleton. LOL
Loopko’s team came in fully geared with endgame equipment, all maxed out to +10,
so they blitzed through the first floor in no time.
When hordes of mobs swarmed in,
they pulled all the aggro at once and wiped them out in one go
using AoE magic and alchemy-crafted firebombs a spectacular display.
The second-floor labyrinth slowed them down a bit as they got lost,
but even then, they reached the third floor with 18 minutes left on the dungeon timer.
There were three rooms before they reached Moogun’s chamber.
With Wicker’s custom server gear and enhancements, their damage output was absurd.
The Void Dragon, the final boss in the vanilla 64Cubix version, was cut down in just 1 minute 30 seconds.
The Giant Tree Spirit in the next room and Jörmungandr in the following one each went down in under two minutes.
And so, with about 12 minutes remaining, they arrived at the final room on the third floor where Moogun and the three-headed Cerberus were waiting.
[Hey. This is where it ends.]
[Huh? It’s the financial fraudster. Bro, how about if I win, I don’t pay back the 500K I borrowed?]
[Bro? Who said I’m your bro?]
[Come on, let’s drop the roleplay.]
[Silence, fool. I am the Demon King’s most loyal retainer.]
[Is this guy senile or what? Kill him!]
To be honest, Moogun had been placed on this floor purely to mess with him.
Some viewers had already caught on to the joke,
but Moogun himself still hadn’t realized my true intentions.
[Kuhaha! I have slain 100,000… No, a single mage!]
— Uh… but there are four heads?
— It’s two dogs, actually.
— No, it has four heads. ㅇㅇ
— Man’s really out here following orders like a loyal pup…
— Moogun is truly committed to his role.
— This guy’s taking his officer duties way too seriously. lolol
Of course, no matter how hard Moogun tried, he wasn’t wearing the Demon King’s armor like I was.
In the end, no one could withstand being surrounded and beaten down.
Still, the fact that he managed to take down two out of sixteen full-party members using the Cerberus Shield was impressive.
[I’m sorry, Demon King. Please, preserve your noble body!]
— LOL
— Even getting wrecked takes skill LOL
— It’s “preserve,” not “conserve” LOL
— Truly pathetic LOL
Anyway, once Moogun fell, what awaited them was the banquet hall on the fourth floor.
A secret area that had never been revealed to the public before.
I intentionally didn’t show it on my stream so that each player could experience it firsthand.
As I waited leisurely, time kept ticking away…
With only five minutes left on the raid timer, the frustrated players finally kicked open the audience chamber doors.
[Uwaaaah—!]
[Demon King, come out!]
[I was seriously losing my mind! Where are you? Show yourself…]
[DEMON KING!!!]
Sitting arrogantly in my chair, I slowly rose to my feet, the heavy armor clanking as I moved.
My height had doubled thanks to the Demon King’s armor.
A long, black cape billowed in the wind from the shattered windows.
— No need to raise your voices like that.
— Crushing ants without turning them to dust… requires careful control.
— Come forth, my Gourmet Society.
— Don’t use lines that sound too strong. It makes you look weaker…
All I did was step forward.
Yet, somehow, the viewers got even more hyped, shouting famous quotes from anime and manga.
I kind of got where they were coming from.
I personally found it more entertaining to watch a CEO struggle miserably, but some people preferred to see a streamer dominate, climb higher, and wield overwhelming power.
Those who were excited now were probably the ones enthralled by my character hoping that Demon King Magia would effortlessly cut down the intruders like autumn leaves.
However, up until now, I had only been fighting monsters, not people.
So, in truth, I didn’t know much about PvP in this game.
Unlike monsters that were clearly categorized as melee or ranged, players could freely switch between bows, swords, and even magic.
