Most Parallel fans knew all too well about PIN0’s madness.
The lunatic who breathed life into Magia’s rigging, and whenever Magia appeared, the first thing he did was throw in a donation.
So, it was practically an unspoken rule among viewers that the special invitation ticket, funded by PIN0, should naturally be used to invite Magia.
– Is the deputy manager coming in right away?
– Wow, Magia LOLOL
– PIN0 did it again LOLOLOL
– He rigs the model, donates, and now even makes a special invite happenㅋㅋ
Just looking at the chat in Momo’s stream often referred to as Parallel’s command center everyone assumed Magia’s arrival was a given.
Rather, they were already considering Magia as the default choice and debating who to invite with the remaining ticket.
Because of that, Maru no longer felt any pressure about the special invitation tickets.
PIN0 had probably donated just because he wanted to see Magia.
But regardless of his intentions, he had essentially saved Maru.
Nice.
Feeling much better now, Dohee spoke to Maru.
“One ticket goes to Jia, and for the other one, ask who’s available right now and invite them.”
[Okay.]
At this point, Dohee wasn’t thinking too deeply about anything.
If anything, she was just barely tipping over the line between frustration and happiness.
After all, Maru had nearly shot herself in the foot due to the leak scandal.
Dohee had been worried and wanted to help however she could.
On top of that, she was already pissed that the special invitation tickets hadn’t appeared at all.
But now, two tickets had fallen right into Maru’s hands.
How could she not feel better?
Of course… that happiness didn’t last long.
– Wait, doesn’t this mean Maru becomes Jia’s mom?
– Oh… yeah, you’re right.
– Uh-oh.
– Momo just lost an employee LMAOo
– LMAOOO
– ??? : Boss? You?
On a server where invitations were the only way to enter, the invitee would typically roleplay the inviter as their “parent.”
In other words, Magia who had always followed Dohee with absolute loyalty would now be chirping after Maru instead.
“The hell do you mean, stolen? It’s just a temporary loan on the server.”
– Honestly, after getting exploited by Momo for so long, if Magia gets Maru’s genuine kindness, she might never go back LOL
– LOLOLOL
– If it were me, I’d choose to be Maru’s daughter too LOLOL
– Momo is so cold…
Oh? Trying to pull a move on me, huh?
Momo frowned and let out a loud shout.
“What the hell are you guys talking about?! Shut up! The real reason the special tickets didn’t appear is because you guys didn’t pray hard enough when donating!”
– ??
– Is she seriously blaming us?
– HEY HEY HEY
And just like that, another classic WWE match had begun.
* * *
The invitation ticket created by the sponsorship of PIN0 and the good luck of Maru.
Since I had already been preparing to log in, I was able to join the Wicker server in less than 10 minutes after the invitation was released.
At the same time, the broadcast began.
[(🔴Live) Wicker Town Season 2 – Parallel Surveillance Room, Day 1] 👪2,110
#64Cubix #Parallel
– I can’t believe I get to watch Magia’s stream for two whole weeks.
– Wow, the surveillance room was a genius move lol.
– After three years, Momo finally looks good to me…
– Jaha!!!!
– Jaha~
Honestly, I wondered if it was really necessary to stream this on the official channel when all I’d be doing was grinding and promoting.
But since the boss gave me a special task, I started the stream without complaint.
As stated in the title, the purpose was surveillance.
During Season 1, the members kept cutting their streams short to play off-stream late into the night, so the boss had to go around catching them one by one and forcing them to sleep.
This was the drastic measure put in place to prevent that.
Even if the first-gen members turned off their streams, I would be awake as usual, monitoring whether they were sleeping or not.
It might seem difficult, but once I logged into the server, I could check who was online in real time.
For a few hours after the members went to sleep and a few hours before they woke up, I would stay in the server and monitor them.
In a way, it was a pretty simple task.
At the same time, I had to keep the bored Parallel fans occupied on the official channel and notify them whenever a member logged in.
This meant I had to keep playing on the server as well.
Did that mean I had to put in extra effort to interact with viewers as a streamer?
「You don’t have to go out of your way to entertain the viewers. Just do your job. That’s what the surveillance room is for, anyway.」
Exactly.
Since the boss had given clear instructions, I just had to focus on my tasks calmly whether that was grinding or promoting.
Anyway, I entered the tutorial zone.
As I looked around to find Maru, who had invited me, someone next to me suddenly spoke to me.
[Magia-nim, hello!]
They had a distinctive mirror ball above their head and a white title indicating they were an admin this was a Wicker.
I quickly adjusted my mic settings and responded.
“Ah, ah. Can you hear me?”
[Whoa. You’ve already finished setting up your sound? A lot of people struggle with this part, so I’ve been personally helping them with the admin team.]
“Oh, yeah. Since I usually help out the members when they have trouble, I’m used to it.”
Even back when we first gathered the members on the now-forgotten Parallel 64Cubix server, I had set up all their sound settings.
I won’t say who, but there was someone who couldn’t understand the instructions no matter how many times I explained, so I ended up going to their house to set it up myself.
– Definitely has the experience of a seasoned manager lol.
– Thinking about how the members always struggle with this makes me feel relieved.
– So smooth~
Since I was used to it, I wasn’t surprised by the reactions from the viewers and the Wicker.
…Though, some people were blatantly comparing the members to me.
I immediately reported them to Seungyeon and handed out a 10-minute ban as a warning.
After that, I temporarily opened up donations on the official channel.
Since the official channel streams usually had a formal atmosphere, donations were generally disabled to keep the flow of the broadcast uninterrupted.
While running the support system, the incoming donations couldn’t be ignored. Since those donations could be used for more gacha pulls, the company temporarily reinstated it.
While the game server team was working on API integration, Wicker sent a direct message with a transparent background image.
[That’s a chart showing the effects of donations besides coins, depending on the amount. You can display it on the stream. As long as the content matches, you can customize it.]
Simply put, the server provides rewards based on the donation amount.
Even the special invitation that the CEO and Maru desperately wanted was obtained using Wicker Coins through this system.
– 10,000 won: 10 Wicker Breads (server-exclusive food) + 1 coin
– 20,000 won: Full hunger & thirst recovery + 2 coins
– 30,000 won: Full health recovery + 3 coins
– 50,000 won: Various random buffs + 5 coins
– 100,000 won & 500,000 won: Coins + a monster horde that drops rare items upon defeat
And finally, 1,000,000 won.
As seen with Maru earlier, a server-wide announcement is made, followed by the player being launched into the sky and instantly dying from fall damage.
If they pulled an inventory protection item from the gacha, they might survive, but if not, they drop all their items upon death.
Still, since the donation announcement gets broadcast across the server, it’s one of the few chances for small to mid-sized streamers (with around 500 viewers) to gain exposure.
If Oshi is making waves among streamers?
Then just drop a million-won donation and get a full-server announcement.
“Look at my streamer!”
[Once the integration is complete, I’ll send you a whisper. For now, check out the tutorial and enjoy the server! Thanks for coming, Magia!]
“No, I should be the one thanking you for the warm welcome. See you again.”
– Wiba~
– Wiba!
After parting ways with Wicker and heading down a few steps, large billboards lined the streets.
It was the server tutorial.
What professions exist, how to make money, how to level up, essentially, an invitation to explore what you want to do in this two-week-long server event.
Reading through them, some of the concepts seemed complicated.
With my skillset, mining might suit me best.
After passing a few more billboards, Maru spotted me and ran over, bouncing around me excitedly.
[Waaaah, it’s Jia!!! Magia! Magia! Magia!]
“You’re too hyper.”
[Hehehe, sorry.]
Many players were still lingering in the tutorial zone, waiting for their friends to log in.
Thanks to Maru’s overly enthusiastic shouting, a few people curiously approached me.
They were all familiar faces.
Mugeon spoke first.
[Hello, Manager. It’s been a while.]
“Oh, hey. Long time no see, Mugeon.”
[So… when are you finally reaching Master Tier?]
“I’m working on it, but there are way too many insane players. I still need to climb two more tiers.”
Next was Ronze.
[Jia! I really enjoyed the travel teaser video! When’s the full version coming out?]
“Hey, Ronze! Usually, teasers drop 1–2 weeks before the main release, so if I had to guess, sometime next week or the weekend. I haven’t received an exact date yet.”
Lastly, Serena hesitated, seemingly wanting to say something.
—[Whisper] Wicker: Magia, the API integration is complete!
—[Whisper] Wicker: Enjoy the server~ ^^b
Wicker’s whisper came faster.
And the moment I finished reading it fireworks erupted as my body shot high into the sky.
— [Server] Magia has ascended after receiving a 1,000,000-cloud donation!
I pierced through the clouds, soaring upwards, before plummeting back down.
For a second, I wondered who the madman was that just dropped a million won on the official channel.
:: :: PIN0 has donated 1,000,000 clouds! :: ::
:: :: I’ve been waiting for this day, Magia! :: ::
…You again?!
