About a week had passed since I played Heart Memorial on stream.
Nothing major had changed.
As usual, I started my streams, completed my commissions—it was business as usual.
If there was anything noteworthy, it was that today was the release day for a new character in Heart Memorial.
The one I had illustrated myself.
Originally, today wasn’t supposed to be the release date, but apparently, the schedule had been moved up.
‘I never found out exactly why, though.’
Of course, that didn’t mean I had any plans to play the game.
I wasn’t insane enough to put myself through that again.
If I willingly re-entered that game, after witnessing half-naked men parading around, that would basically confirm I had a thing for it.
“Hmmm…”
Still, I was curious.
It was my own illustration, after all.
But actually logging into the game?
No thanks.
As I mulled over what to do, a great idea popped into my head.
A lot of streamers checked their café before properly starting their broadcasts.
Since browsing certain community sites on stream could be risky, many viewers would gather posts from those sites and share them in the café instead.
It was a way to avoid controversy while still discussing trending topics.
The key takeaway?
If someone else uploaded a post in the café, I could check how my character looked in the game without actually logging in myself.
That was… pretty convenient.
‘Guess I should ask the viewers on stream.’
This wasn’t something I needed to decide on my own.
Hearing what the chat thought might be a good idea.
With that in mind, I started the broadcast.
[The broadcast has started!]
As the notification went out, viewers slowly began trickling in.
Of course, compared to before, viewers were pouring in at an incredible speed.
[Viewer count: 32]
There was a time when even twenty viewers would’ve made me wonder if someone had leaked my stream link somewhere.
“Ah-ah, can everyone hear me?”
[Yeah.]
[Loud and clear.]
[+HurryAndLeave: Haha.]
[Damn.]
[I love that you always start on time.]
One thing I found interesting about streaming was how much viewers appreciated me simply going live on time.
I wasn’t even early—just on time.
It made me wonder how other streamers managed their schedules for this to be such a big deal.
Wouldn’t just posting a proper notice solve this issue?
I couldn’t wrap my head around it, but I set the thought aside and got to the point.
“Alright, alright. You all know what today is, right?”
[?]
[What day is it?]
[+HurryAndLeave: Could it be… the day that Yotte’s illustrated male character gets released in Heart X Memorial?!]
[LMAO.]
[Did this dude seriously prepare his lines ahead of time? Manager, check on him, lol.]
Seemed like everyone already knew.
Ever since I streamed Heart Memorial, it had been a frequent topic in chat.
Anyway.
“So, I have personal reasons for not playing the game myself. However, I was thinking of opening a café where we could check out videos and posts related to it. What do you guys think?”
[Ohh.]
[I like that idea.]
[+HurryAndLeave: Opening a café sounds great.]
[Let’s do it right now.]
[Pepe: Holy—this is gonna be sick.]
[Finally, we’ll have a proper café browsing segment. This is peak content.]
The viewers seemed excited.
A lot of them probably enjoyed casual chatting while going through forum posts.
Well, I didn’t mind that either.
“Alright, I’ll go ahead and set it up. Oh, and if you guys have any name ideas, let me know. I can’t think of one.”
When it came to naming things, it was always best to leave it to the chat.
There was only so much I could come up with on my own.
Click-clack, click-clack.
As I spoke, I navigated to the website and began creating the café.
It used to be a hassle to make one, but these days, the process was a lot simpler.
Setting it up wasn’t difficult at all.
“Alright, for the categories…”
I created a few general sections where viewers could post:
— General Discussion
— Humor Board
Then, I added separate boards for each type of content I streamed:
— Reore Board
— FPS Board
— Art Board
— Music Board
If I ever started doing new content, I could just add more categories later.
For now, this setup seemed good enough.
As I was finalizing everything.
[Wait, but naming it Yogurt is kinda too much, don’t you think?]
[Is there any café name better than Yogurt? Because I can’t think of one.]
[+HurryAndLeave: Yeah, I have no clue either.]
[Honestly, just let the owner decide at this point.]
[So what’s the final decision?]
[Pepe: Wow, you guys have zero naming sense, lololol.]
Checking chat, I saw that opinions were all over the place.
It seemed like no one could come up with a decent café name.
Since we weren’t getting anywhere, I decided to just come up with something on the spot.
“Alright, then. I’ll just go with YotteLab.”
[?]
[Uh…]
[What does that even mean?]
[+HurryAndLeave: Eh… this one’s kinda… hmm…]
[Pepe: Honestly, just calling it Yotte with two characters might be better.]
There were several reasons I picked YotteLab, but the main one was simple.
“I added Lab because it means laboratory. YotteLab—like an experimental space.
But if you guys have a better name, I’m open to suggestions. I just didn’t see anything good in chat.”
None of the names that had popped up so far were particularly creative.
[Oh.]
[Guys, please, think for once.]
[I really don’t wanna be part of a café with that name, lol.]
[+HurryAndLeave: Everyone, put your heads together. Please.]
[My brain’s fried, I can’t think of anything, lol.]
[Pepe: Come on, there’s gotta be a better name.]
As soon as I said that, chat suddenly started taking the naming process seriously.
Guess they really didn’t like YotteLab.
‘…Am I the only one who likes it?’
I felt a little disappointed.
I actually thought it was a pretty clever name when I suggested it.
Sure, I threw it out casually, but I did put some thought into it.
“Well, I’ll go ahead and set up the café. If you guys come up with a better name, leave a comment there. It’s hard to read every single message in chat.”
With that, I officially created the café.
For now, I temporarily named it YotteLab.
At least that way, the viewers could find it easily.
Click.
Using the chat pinning feature, I fixed the café link at the top of the chat.
Not long after.
Ding! Ding!
Notifications started pouring in.
[New membership request received.]
It looked like viewers were already applying to join the café.
Normally, I would take my time verifying each request, but since the café had just launched, I accepted anyone with a normal-looking username.
Of course, I ignored the ones with weird or inappropriate names.
“…I try to approve as many of you as possible, but how am I supposed to accept someone with a name like this?”
Some of them were so crude that I couldn’t even say them out loud.
Instead, I took a screenshot and displayed it on the stream.
[OMG, lololol.]
[Who the hell makes a username like that?]
[No way, I’m crying. LOL.]
[+HurryAndLeave: That’s so unbelievably vulgar, what the hell, lol.]
[Pepe: We need to track down whoever did this, lol.]
[Some of those words only belong in very specific kinds of doujinshi…]
After filtering out the worst offenders, I continued approving normal requests.
How much time had passed?
“Hm, I think this should be enough.”
Total members: 81.
That was plenty for a brand-new café.
Satisfied, I temporarily closed membership requests.
[+HurryAndLeave: Yeah, this feels like a good number to start with.]
[Wait, I didn’t get in… ㅠㅠ]
[Too slow, loser. No soup for you, lol.]
ᄂ [User has been temporarily banned!]
[+HurryAndLeave: Can you not be so aggressive, lol.]
[Why are they so mean about it, lmao.]
“Alright, now that the café is up and running, head over to the post I just made and leave a comment.”
Since this was a space we’d be using regularly, it was important to come up with a name that wouldn’t look weird to outsiders.
I didn’t personally think YotteLab was a bad name, but since chat’s reaction had been overwhelmingly negative, I was open to changing it.
…Well, if no good suggestions came up, I’d just keep it as is.
[Lolol.]
[I’m gonna go ask ChatGPT for name ideas, brb.]
[+HurryAndLeave: No, but seriously, I can’t think of anything.]
[Anyone got a solid idea?]
As viewers were tossing around ideas.
[Pepe has donated 1,000 KRW.]
—Yotte, I just uploaded a video of the new Heart Memorial male character in your café.
Wanna check it out?
“Huh? Wait, how did you even post? I definitely set it so new members can’t post for their first week.”
That was weird.
I was sure I had disabled posting for users who hadn’t been in the café for at least a week.
Just as I was wondering what was going on.
[Pepe has donated 1,000 KRW.]
—??? You made me a café admin.
“…Oh.”
Everything suddenly made sense.
