The news that Seere von Devata, the lowest-ranked Demon King, had gotten a mentor was uninteresting to some, but to others, it was a fascinating fact.

Especially for Demon Kings of similarly low rank as Seere, it was news they couldn’t ignore.

“That little kid got a mentor?”

“Yes.”

In a bathroom filled with steam, there was a woman with disheveled blonde hair and a voluptuous figure that was incredibly alluring.

Sitting in the bathtub, she was filing her nails while receiving a report from her subordinate, and asked with curiosity.

“Which fool took on such a task?”

“It’s someone called Nahin.”

“…Nahin?”

The woman repeated the name “Nahin” and “Nahyeon” to herself, then spoke briefly.

“Never heard of them.”

“We’ve looked into it, but nothing came up. They’re a suspicious individual.”

“Hmm.”

Droplets of water fell with a ‘drip’ sound.

As her lush body, hidden underwater, became fully exposed, the subordinate lowered their head slightly.

“Send a message.”

With a splash, the woman stepped out of the bath.

Drying her hair with a towel prepared by a servant, she spoke softly.

“I’ll visit them soon.”

In the office assigned to Nahin, who had become the Demon King’s mentor, there was Nahin, Kain, and Seere, who was holding a white stuffed bear.

Seere was watching Nahin jot things down in a training journal.

Kain felt slightly uneasy as he watched Nahin.

He was truly grateful that someone had become his master’s mentor, but to even take control of the financial authority of the Demon King’s castle?

‘Do they have some ulterior motive…’

It was a situation that could easily lead one to such suspicions.

After all, money had power in any situation.

As Kain was deep in thought, Nahin called Seere.

“Seere.”

“Y-Yes!”

“Come over here and take a look at this.”

Nahin handed the training journal to Seere.

Blinking, Seere looked at what Nahin had written and asked.

“Teacher, do I do all of this in one day?”

“Yeah. Does it seem like a lot?”

“A-A little.”

“Then should I reduce it a bit?”

Nahin smiled and erased a few things.

He had intentionally written a lot to allow her to adjust the training amount on her own.

However, there was a minimum threshold he had to maintain.

Based on his experience of seeing countless endings, he had a minimum training requirement to optimally help Seere grow.

“You can do this, right?”

Nod, nod.

As Seere nodded, Nahin smiled and patted her head.

“If you work hard without skipping for a week, I’ll buy you a big doll.”

“Really?”

“Of course, really.”

Nahin told Seere.

“That’s enough for today. We’ll start lessons tomorrow, so get to bed early.”

“Yes.”

Nod, nod.

Even her response, nodding her head, was the typical behavior of a child.

It was hard to believe she was a Demon King.

“Kain, I need to talk to you for a bit, so go ahead and rest tonight.”

“Okay.”

Seere hugged her teddy bear and ran off to the door.

As Kain opened it for her, she gave a quick bow to both Nahin and Kain before leaving the room.

“…She’s really cute.”

“She’s still young. But, more importantly, sir—”

“Just call me by my name.”

“Then, Nahin, there’s something I want to ask.”

“What is it?” Kain cautiously asked Nahin.

“When you asked for financial authority, you said you were going to make money.”

“That’s right.”

“But you haven’t shared any plans with us yet. How do you plan to gather funds?”

“Oh, that.”

Nahin gave a meaningful smile and confidently said, “Just do nothing for now.”

“Excuse me?”

“Trust me and wait.”

Nahin chuckled to himself.

“A fortune will roll in.”

Kain was taken aback.

He had expected some sort of scheme, but just waiting was the plan?

‘Is it really okay to leave things in his hands?’

Kain was beginning to regret giving Nahin control over the finances.

Watching Kain’s expression, Nahin thought to himself.

‘As expected, he doesn’t trust me.’

It was understandable that his words made him sound like an irresponsible fool.

But it was true.

Just waiting would bring the money in.

As someone who had played “Evil Queen Maker,” Nahin knew all the early-game events.

The reason he was telling them to wait was because of one event that would soon occur in the game’s early stages.

Knock, knock.

There was a cautious knock at the door.

Before Nahin could say anything, Kain asked what the matter was.

A hesitant male voice came from beyond the door.

“M-Master of the house, a letter has arrived.”

“A letter?”

Kain glanced at Nahin.

The timing of the letter seemed too perfect, especially after Nahin said they should wait.

Kain looked at Nahin’s face and couldn’t believe what he saw.

‘Is he smiling?’

It was as if he had been expecting this.

Nahin smiled meaningfully and said to Kain, “Let’s get it.”

‘Were you waiting for this?”

“Well, I wasn’t sure if it would happen, but I had a feeling.”

While Nahin feigned modesty, Kain opened the door.

One of the few remaining servants, Eldin, stood there holding a luxurious envelope.

“Where is it from?”

“It’s from downstairs.”

Hearing that it was from downstairs, Kain’s face hardened.

He asked urgently,”Which floor?”

“That, it’s… from the 71st floor.”

The 71st floor.

Upon hearing this, Kain’s mouth dropped open.

“N-Nahin…”

“Yes, Kain?”

“Could it be… were you waiting for this?”

Nahin met Kain’s eyes and slowly nodded.

“Why are you so worried?”

“Isn’t it obvious? It’s from the 71st floor!”

The 72 Demon Kings ruled over the Demon Realm, and each of their territories was divided into “floors” since the Demon Realm was structured like a massive tower.

Rank was determined by the order of the floors, with Seere, being the lowest-ranked Demon King, ruling the 72nd floor.

So, hearing that the letter came from the 71st floor meant it was from a Demon King ranked one place higher than Seere.

It might sound like a trivial difference, but Demon Kings weren’t ranked solely based on individual power.

The ranking of Demon Kings considered their military might, influence, and the size of their forces.

So, while the 72nd and 71st floors might seem close in number, the difference in power was vast.

The larger armies and wealth of the higher-ranked Demon Kings made a significant difference.

Moreover, the 72nd floor was the topmost floor of the Demon Realm, the closest to the Human Realm, which had long been hostile to the Demon Realm.

Because of its proximity to the Human Realm, the 72nd floor constantly suffered from human invasions, making it hard for Seere to grow her forces.

That’s why Kain was so alarmed by the letter from the 71st floor.

Not only was the opposing force much stronger, but Seere couldn’t even compete in terms of personal strength.

As Kain massaged his stiff neck, he calmed himself and handed the envelope to Nahin.

“You didn’t request this letter, did you?”

“No, I didn’t. But I was expecting it.”

“How could you have anticipated this?”

“It’s simple.”

Nahin answered without hesitation.

“Seere has a mentor now, something she never had before. Of course, the higher-ranked Demon King would feel the need to keep her in check. They couldn’t ignore it.”

“So, you’re saying this letter is only about you?”

“Not exactly. They probably want something more as well.” He shrugged as if it were obvious.

Kain, confused by Nahin’s nonchalance, spoke again.

“So what do you mean by ‘expecting a letter’? Do you expect us to offer tributes to the higher-ranked Demon Kings?”

“Don’t worry, Kain.”

Kain was baffled.

Nahin still wore that confident smile without a hint of doubt.

“Let’s check the contents first.”

Nahin opened the envelope he received from Kain.

After reading the letter, he let out a quiet laugh.

“They’ll be visiting in a few days.”

“What? Who?”

“Who else?”

Nahin gave Kain a look that implied the answer was obvious.

Kain’s face froze as he realized the truth.

“Please tell me it’s not true.”

“Your guess is probably correct.”

Nahin handed the letter to Kain.

With trembling hands, Kain opened it and read the contents.

His face went stiff, and his hands began to shake.

“A-Aaah!!”

“Calm down, Kain.”

“How can I calm down?!”

Kain pointed at the letter as he yelled.

“Sitri is coming in person?!”
