“Mr. Moogun, please don’t hold me back. I’m going for first place today.”
Needless to say, the chat window went up in flames.
-Your ankle is LOLOLOL
-No, you’re the one grabbing my ankle.
– Don’t ignore the signals
-You’re a bit arrogant LMAO
-Why is it that everyone from the bad guys are so confident?
-You’re being picky about the subject HAHAHAHA
– You’re a good runner LOL

-Yeah, you’re the one making the speed.
– It’s hard to keep up with that LOL
– I’m sure you’ll be able to keep up with him.

:: Fact) If the sniper from two days ago was Staffy, Moogun already lost a kill bet to Staffy::
– Oh yeah?
– You didn’t even say it was you. LOL.
-Why are you all making such a big deal about it?
But he didn’t react.
Actions speak louder than words.
Since he remained silent, I decided to try to calm down the overheated atmosphere by claiming it was his room.
It was pretty simple: I revealed my nickname.
[The manager says they’re about to start].
[Yeah, your brother].
“Yeah.”
As soon as I actually walked into the waiting room,
{3p: 1stYear1stAnniversarySongReleasesNov5. }
Laughter immediately erupted from the chat window.
-Mr. Ani LOLOLOLOLOL
-Nickname HAHAHAHHAH
-and I can see you even if you hide behind a tree LOLOL
– You’re really gritting your teeth for publicity.
– Mrs.This was kind of funny LOL
ᅳLMAOOOO
And the laughter was even better thanks to Mugun’s proper support.
[1stYear1stAnniversarySongReleasesNov5, let’s do our best. Don’t worry, I won’t grab your ankle, but try not to trip over your own.]
My tongue is twisted, but I speak well again and again.
At least he quit his job and did some broadcasting.
But it seemed like he was trying to win the favor of our boss, so I got annoyed.
….kill?
“I’m a little nervous, but can I teamkill you before you do?”
– Oh Ho! LOLOL
– Wow, there’s nothing you can’t say, seriously. LMAOO
– Violently adorable. LOL
– Your chaotic instincts keep popping out periodically! LOLOLOL
[1stYear1stAnniversarySongReleasesNov5: Hey, we’re a team here. You can’t just attack your teammates. Aren’t you aiming for first place?]
“I’m not as famous as Moogun, but the reason my name got out there is because I used to take down troll players. If someone holds me back, they’re a troll, right?”
[Then, would it be okay if I take down you first, 1stYear1stAnniversarySongReleasesNov5? Considering the vibe here, I think I might need to.]
A teammate from the Supporter class, who had been quietly observing our conversation, tried to mediate.
[Bro, I really want to win this scrim…]
…but it didn’t take long before they got swept into Moogun’s rhythm.
[Then you better keep an eye on 1stYear1stAnniversarySongReleasesNov5. If you slack off, they’ll put a bullet in the back of your head. Isn’t that right, 1stYear1stAnniversarySongReleasesNov5?]
“Of course.”
-LMAOOO
– Ughhh! LOLOLOL
– What’s up with Moogun today? LOLOLOL
– I swear, the way he insists on reading out full usernames is driving me crazy! LMAOOOOOO
People are baffled by Moogun’s commitment to fully pronouncing usernames, but it’s actually an unspoken rule of this scrim.
Reading usernames in full is considered basic etiquette here.
Now, Moogun had to focus on sharp sniping support, because our team had to take first place.
To make that clear, I picked “Crazy Shot,” the character I play best, signaling for the team to adjust accordingly.
Moogun then asked,
[But do you seriously use dual snipers?]
“I survive ranked matches with just that and smokes.”
Letting out a brief groan, as if debating strategy, Moogun unexpectedly accepted my pick without much fuss.
[Fine, let’s roll with it. The class balance is perfect as is. 1stYear1stAnniversarySongReleasesNov5 will take point with dual snipers and Crazy Shot. I’ll secure the backline with Hawkeye, and Wonhyuk will cover mid as Support.]
Assault, Controller, Support.
Typically, teams need a balance of these three classes—frontline, recon, and support—to perform well.
My specialty was frontlining.
And luckily, we had a solid sniper and support on our team.
Moogun had clearly grasped my intentions perfectly—perhaps no surprise, considering we were aiming for first place in a top-tier match.
In this squad, my role was pure assault: to charge into enemy lines and create absolute chaos.
And if I could completely crush them, even better.
“I’m going to charge straight ahead after popping smokes. You guys handle the cleanup.”
[Wait, isn’t cleanup 1stYear1stAnniversarySongReleasesNov5’s job? I knock ’em down, and they finish with the kill.]
– ENOUGH!!
– Dude, my brain’s about to break.

– I’ve already memorized it. 1stYear 5thAnniversary Song releases on January 1st, right? LOL
* * *
Before today’s scrim began, every team collectively pinpointed the weakest link in their minds, Moogun’s team.
No matter how legendary Moogun was as a sniper during his prime, he couldn’t handle coordinated attacks coming from all directions.
After all, he was just a sniper.
If only one person attacked Moogun, the attacker might end up dead instead.
But if two opponents targeted him, it wasn’t uncommon for Moogun to go down alone.
Of course, this could change if a Supporter class—focused on heals, shields, or barriers stayed glued to Moogun.
Take his international championship-winning team, for instance.
Back then, Moogun had dominated the high ground, shredding shields from afar while his two teammates cleaned up, securing victory.
Ever since, Moogun had preferred to work alone, holding his own position.
This made his team’s strategy predictable.
If opponents swarmed Moogun first, they could neutralize him, leaving the remaining two teammates easy to dispatch.
As precise as Moogun’s sniping was, there were limits to his reaction time, especially against enemies who used cover effectively to approach unnoticed.
[“When we face Moogun’s team, we’re taking him out first, right?”]
“Nope. Opposite. Focus on their frontline first.”
[“Agreed. Taking down the ‘Charging Dinosaur’ first is the way to go.”]
The “Charging Dinosaur,” also known as JigwonD or Signal Flare, was infamous.
A third of players knew him outright, while the remaining two-thirds only learned about him after frantically searching the wiki.
Regardless, he was a headstrong, reckless charger.
In the pro scene, charging without pinpointing enemy positions? That was practically suicide.
Even with a smoke grenade in hand, it wasn’t a magic shield.
Smoke had its limits: it obscured vision but didn’t make you invisible. If you got close enough, they could still see you.
And professional players’ movement skills? Lightning-fast.
In a game with a high TTK (Time to Kill), players with advanced movement skills often made it impossible to end fights with just one magazine.
For a surprise charge to work, the attacker had to secure at least one kill during the initial rush.
Failing that?
The midline and backline would quickly converge, leaving the charger exposed and taken down.
This distinction—seamless teamwork—was what separated diamond-tier players from those above.
JigwonD’s mindless charges?
A near-certain recipe for his team’s downfall.
[“Let’s bait JigwonD—Signal Flare, whatever his name is—get him down first. Once their Support’s stranded, we’ll pretend to go after them but pivot straight to Moogun.”]
“Got it.”
[“Okay, let’s go.”]
And so—
Bang! Bang!
As soon as the sound of a double-barrel shotgun echoed nearby, Team C’s players immediately shifted towards the commotion, positioning themselves around a house and its surrounding walls.
The trap for the Charging Dinosaur was set.
Just as they predicted, after some feigned gunfire and a short wait,
a cylindrical object came spinning toward them.
Thunk—hisssssssssss.
The smoke bomb hit the ground, releasing a puff of white smoke.
– Holy shit.
– That’s a pretty brute force assault.
-It’s not like the smoke screen can stop it all.
-Well, I can’t help it…
Assault, who had been holding the forward position, reported back.
[Falling backwards slowly].
“Circling for the kill.”
It’s too simple a fight to see in chat.
The mood was that they were about to be surrounded and killed.
But then,
Before the retreating Assault could escape the smoke.
Through the blur of the smoke, a figure emerged.
Braided red hair and blue lipstick.
It was Crazy Shot, pointing two guns at the unknowing.
[What?]
It was insane.
The squad was already surrounding the smoke screen.
We’re not going to get out if we’re stuck in the smoke.
I didn’t know what the hell I was doing, I was just going to kill the first guy I saw.
But this isn’t the first time Assault has been in this situation.
Being at gunpoint doesn’t necessarily mean you’re going to die.
In fact, the closer you get, the harder it is to hit them if you move fast enough.
Bam!
Bam!

[What, what?!]
– ?
-What was that just now?
-No shot accuracy crazy!
It wasn’t even just a shield, it was a level 3 shield.
That’s just below the maximum level of level 4, which means you can get shot in the head with an objective sniper rifle and still have one shield left.
But Assault took two double-barreled shots and went down cleanly.
Staffordy’s wild side-to-side movements put most of the shotgun’s pellets into his head.
That, with the penalty of blurred vision from the smoke.
“What the hell, what happened?”
[No crazy. Is this a laydown?]
“This isn’t a lay. Report your position.”
[Where are you, you’re in the smoke, don’t come in, wait until it’s gone, this guy’s shotgun is weird].
“Copy.”
Had the team jumped into the smoke as soon as Assault went down, they could have put Stafford down in six seconds-the reload time for two double-barrels.
But they reacted too late.
We hadn’t realized that he would actually be lying in two rooms.
I’d heard stories of signal rounds smashing enemies with smoke boats, but there was no data to suggest it worked against the pro’s moves.
‘Let’s get a grenade.’
[Check]
Two people from the Supporter and Controller classes were just about to throw their gifts at Staffy, who was trapped behind the smoke, when they took cover.
Crazy Shot pops out of the smoke with her head bobbing.
This time she appeared from the supporter side.
As soon as she heard the grenade being cooked (a technique that delays the explosion so that it goes off at the same time as it lands), she didn’t hesitate to jump out of the smoke.
Poof! Pow!
Another double-barrel burst of fire, and down goes the supporter player.
[Crazy].
The controller releases the grenade and circles back around the smoke, just in time for Staffy to drive right back into it.
Tudadada, I try to form a formation on the presumed escape route, but I only scratch the shield.
“That’s one fast bounce…!”
The controller quickly took cover.
“Mr. Ani. I’ve never heard of Dia doing this before. Are you Dia? Are you a pro?”
What the hell?
-The winner of the women’s league got blown out by the third team of the regular league, so I don’t think so LOL
-I don’t think he’s an employee in the first place LMAO
Meanwhile, another plume of smoke was rising, filling the area with white smoke.
It was right in front of the fence where the controller was hiding.
I have a rough idea of where you’re taking cover.
If you stayed still, they’d come in with shotguns.
As the smoke continues to spread and overcome the fence, the controller has two options.
Go inside the smoke and engage in a head-to-head confrontation.
Or stay back and wait for the smoke to clear.
The former was my usual playstyle.
I couldn’t do that because what I’d just seen was insane.
Entering the smoke made me feel like my head was going to blow off.
I started running in a direction that took my controller away from Staffy. I figured I’d get out of there and revive my teammate.
The double-barrel’s range is really short.
I calculated that if I ran full speed, it would be virtually impossible to catch up.
But,
Am I forgetting something?
—- Bang!
Kwajang-chang!
“Oh shit. Fucked.”
Staffy is not alone.
If she didn’t finish her off quickly enough, the rest of the guns followed and took up positions.
There was a snap, and as soon as the shields broke, a crazy shot shot out of the smoke like a wind.
The muzzle of the double-barrel was aimed squarely at the controller’s head this time.
Bam!!!
