I hadn’t planned on playing Reore for too long.
After all, even on busy days, my streams typically lasted three hours at most.
Spending that limited time solely on Reore felt like a waste of precious streaming hours.
But I didn’t expect this situation to happen.
Having a famous streamer as a teammate?
“What’s with this? Why does this keep happening in my games? Is this even possible?”
When I was playing FPS games, I ended up in the same ranked match as Glim.
And now, here I was again, matched with another well-known streamer.
It didn’t make sense.
Unless they were sniping me intentionally, meeting these people by chance seemed like a long shot.
[+HurryAndLeave: Seriously, this makes no sense, lol.]
[“How do you end up with two famous smurfs back-to-back? LMAO.”]
[“The gods of streaming must really like you.”]
[Pepe: Maybe Lusha sniped you?]
[“No way Lusha sniped—they’re way too busy to bother with that, lol.”]
“Well, I guess I’ll put extra effort into this match.”
I always played my best, but knowing someone like Lusha was here made me want to step it up.
There was no better feeling than carrying a game with a large audience watching.
It reminded me of playing ranked matches in a PC café as a kid, with the guy next to me sneaking glances at my screen.
[+HurryAndLeave: This looks fun, lol.]
[“But Lusha’s good too, so you might end up getting carried instead.”]
[“Ohhh, Lusha~!” (said in an exaggerated tone)]
[Pepe: Can’t you pick a hard-carry Mid champ? I kinda want to see an AD champ for a change.]
“AD? Alright, I’ll go with that.”
In Reore, there are champions who focus on magic power (AP) and those who focus on attack power (AD).
I usually preferred champions that relied on magic power.
But since the viewers seemed keen on an AD champion, I decided to pick a female champion specializing in throwing daggers.
“I’ll go with the dagger champ.”
I wasn’t highly skilled with the champion, but I figured I could manage as the game progressed. With that mindset, I officially started the game.
“Yawn…”
Today was supposed to be my day off from streaming—a rare chance to relax without going live.
I had planned to stay in bed, lazing around all day, but someone I usually followed had gone live, and I couldn’t help but get up and sit in front of my computer.
‘This is the guy who supposedly humiliated Glim.’
Since I frequently browsed various community sites, keeping up with trends and controversies, I already had some idea about the relationship between Glim and “Yottt.”
“Hmm…”
I had confirmed from previous clips that he had undeniable talent in FPS games.
Glim was quite skilled herself, but he had completely outplayed her, leaving no room for doubt about his abilities.
With that thought in mind, I entered the stream of the man I had followed.
“Alright, I’ll play Reore. It got the most votes.”
“Oh?”
I’d heard rumors about him playing Reore, but there wasn’t much concrete information.
Hearing him confidently announce it made it seem like he was quite familiar with the game.
However, AOS games and FPS games are entirely different beasts.
‘FPS games rely purely on reaction speed, while AOS games require strategic thinking.’
A game where good reflexes can carry you versus one where you can’t win without brainpower—it’s an entirely different world.
I wondered what tier he might be in.
As I kept watching, the answer came out.
“…Diamond?”
I couldn’t believe it.
I had assumed he’d be around Gold at best, but Diamond? That was surprising.
Intrigued, I continued watching the stream until he finished the first match.
“Ugh, that was tough.”
Despite his words, his voice sounded calm and unbothered.
It was obvious to anyone listening that he hadn’t struggled much.
This sparked a new level of curiosity in me—a desire to meet him in-game.
Unconsciously, I matched my queue timing to his.
Ding!
I managed to get into the same game as him.
There’s a reason I dislike attack-damage (AD) champions.
Honestly, AP champions have far more versatile roles, and lately, I’ve found AD champions to be somewhat underwhelming.
Unless you’re talking about a select few champions, the difference in what you can achieve with AP versus AD is massive.
That’s why I’ve always preferred AP champions.
Yet here I was, playing AD.
“Well, I’ll do my best.”
[+HurryAndLeave: Let’s gooo!]
[“Let’s crush the enemy, lol!”]
[“How can we possibly lose when we’re in the same game as Lusha?”]
[“Let’s do this!”]
[“I love you, Lusha! Lusha, I love you! Lusha, I love you! Lusha, I love you! Lusha, I love you!”]
Forcibly removed from the chat!
[Pepe: That quick ban was beautiful, lol.]
I had already told HurryAndLeave, my moderator, to handle spammy chat messages for me since I couldn’t always monitor the chat myself.
“Please don’t spam.”
With that, I started the laning phase.
In Reore, laning is critical.
It’s the phase that often determines whether you’ll win or lose the game.
“All it takes is using my skills a bit more precisely…”
Using my shadow and dagger skills, I landed perfect hits on the enemy.
Of course, in the early game, the damage wasn’t too significant, but it’d add up over time, and eventually, the opponent would feel it.
Thwack! Thwack!
After a consistent barrage of attacks—
[You have slain an enemy!]
I easily secured the kill.
[+HurryAndLeave: Beautiful.]
[+HurryAndLeave: This is what I’m talking about, haha!]
[“They’re seriously good.”]
[“Yottt <<< This guy just knows how to play games, lol.”]
[“Yottt, are you friends with Lusha or something?”]
[“But seriously, they look like an experienced player…”]
After securing a simple kill, I used my spare time to check what Lusha was doing.
We had no personal connection, but since we ended up in the same game, I couldn’t help being curious about their performance.
Besides, Lusha was playing in the top lane, which is notorious for frequent skirmishes.
[+HurryAndLeave: What’s with that sly look?]
[“Can’t resist watching Lusha’s laning phase, huh? Lol.”]
[“But seriously, how did you two end up in the same match? This is wild.”]
[“Both of you are just pure-skill goats at this point.”]
[Pepe: Lusha, the guy is watching! Show us what you’ve got—take someone down, hehe.]
I kept watching for a while.
[You have been slain!]
“Ah.”
I saw Lusha get taken down by the enemy firsthand.
It was a bit surprising.
The chat had been hyping them up as an incredible player, but seeing them lose like that was unexpected.
“Uh… close one. That was close.”
That was about all I could say.
Lusha had been in a favorable matchup, so it was surprising they’d end up on the losing side.
I shrugged it off and focused back on my own game.
[You have slain an enemy!]
When I got a kill.
[You have been slain!]
Lusha got killed.
If it had only happened once or twice, I wouldn’t have thought much of it.
But.
[You have slain an enemy!]
“Got them.”
Shortly after.
[You have been slain!]
“Ah…”
This pattern repeated itself five times.
At that point, it was impossible not to notice.
No matter how volatile the top lane was, dying five times in a row was a serious problem.
[+HurryAndLeave: Umm…]
[“Wow, they’re really bad at this, lol.”]
[“As a Lusha fan, I’m so sorry. Seriously, I think Lusha’s nervous because they’re playing with a guy. My deepest apologies!!!!!!”]
[“Why are you apologizing? Lol, what’s the point?”]
[Pepe: At this level of gameplay, apologizing feels appropriate.]
[“They’re so bad at this, lol.”]
[“Where are all the people who said this person was good? Hello?”]
The chat was starting to heat up.
It was clear that all the hype about how skilled “Lusha” was before the game had created equally high expectations, and now, seeing them underperform so badly, the backlash was kicking in.
Or maybe it was just an excuse for people to pile on.
I didn’t particularly care either way.
All I could think about was making this match my last one and avoiding Reore for a while.
The game was exhausting.
Not only was the gameplay itself mentally draining, but the viewers were also becoming way too aggressive.
“Let’s wrap this up quickly.”
Normally, I avoided taxing strategies, but this time, I started rotating the camera constantly to track every enemy movement.
I just wanted the game to end as fast as possible.
[+HurryAndLeave: Ahh, this is making me dizzy.]
[“Pro players do this a lot, haha.”]
[“Does this even let you see anything?”]
[“If it didn’t, they wouldn’t do it.”]
[Pepe: It’s just for show, maybe? Hmm, lol.]
Forcibly removed from the chat!
I began directing the team through precise pings, orchestrating where the support should move and what everyone needed to do.
The sole goal was to finish the game quickly.
After what felt like an eternity—
[Victory!]
The victory screen popped up, and.
“Ending the stream now.”
I ended the stream as sharply as a blade.
