How long had I been drawing?
Eventually, the piece was finished.
“Looks pretty good.”
It wasn’t perfect, but I’d done my best within the time I had.
Creating a flawless piece would’ve required pulling an all-nighter, which wasn’t ideal.
In the end, completing commissions efficiently was just as important as doing them well.
[+HurryAndLeave: Wow, that’s beautiful.]
[+HurryAndLeave: You’re seriously talented.]
[This is amazing.]
[How much do you usually charge for something like this?]
[Pepe: I have no idea…]
[I don’t know either.]
Normally, I wouldn’t answer this kind of question, but the viewers kept asking, so I finally gave in.
“For something like this, I usually charge around 300,000 won. I do feel a bit bad since it sounds expensive, but I try my best to make it worth the money.”
I never thought I’d end up discussing commission prices with people I’d never met before.
Feeling a bit embarrassed, I glanced at the chat.
[???]
[Why are you charging so little??]
[That’s way too cheap, LOL.]
[+HurryAndLeave: Seriously? That’s way too low.]
[Pepe: Huh??]
The chat was in chaos.
Most of the messages were comments saying I wasn’t charging enough for my work.
“Huh? Isn’t 300,000 won a lot? That’s what I thought when I looked it up before.”
As far as I knew, 300,000 won was a decent rate.
It felt like the viewers might be misinformed.
[+HurryAndLeave: LOL, no.]
[+HurryAndLeave: You’re seriously undercharging, haha.]
[No wonder you’re constantly getting commissions.]
[Please filter out the noise a bit.]
[Pepe: At the very least, you should be charging 600,000 won…]
Even after explaining myself, the viewers seemed to misunderstand—or perhaps I was the one misinformed.
“I’ll look into it after the stream.”
Now I was genuinely curious if I’d been underestimating commission rates all along.
As I was chatting idly about it, something unexpected happened.
[Glim has donated 10,000 won!]
– I’m here to challenge you. Log into the game now!!!
“Oh, Glim’s here. Alright, I’ll hop in right now.”
[+HurryAndLeave: Is it just me, or can you already picture Glim getting destroyed? LOL.]
[Her losing is the most likely outcome.]
[Based on her track record, yeah, it’s safe to assume she’ll lose.]
[Pepe: Good luck!]
[Let’s do this!]
With the viewers cheering me on, I logged into the game.
It was finally time for revenge.
After countless one-on-ones with Lusha, Glim felt she had mastered the matchup entirely.
“Hoo… Don’t be too surprised, everyone. I’m about to crush Jaehun completely.”
Though it was a bit of a dark thought, she wanted to hear that man’s calm, composed voice waver with panic.
At first, her desire to win was fueled purely by competitive spirit.
But after repeatedly losing to him, frustration had morphed into a small but undeniable craving for payback.
It wasn’t a big emotion, but it was there.
[Destroy him, LOLLLLL.]
[Please win this time, Glim. I’m begging you.]
[If you win, I’ll donate 10,000 won!]
[Pepe: Do you actually think she can win?]
[But she’s done a ton of one-on-ones with Lusha, so maybe…?]
[If you lose this time too, are you just gonna give up?]
“If I lose this time…?”
To be honest, the thought of losing hadn’t even crossed my mind.
I had spent countless hours grinding and refining my skills, all for the sake of winning this one-on-one match.
Still, if I did lose, there was only one thing I could do.
“Hmm… If I lose, I’ll admit it and bow my head. After all, I’ve caused plenty of trouble in the streams of a normal guy just trying to enjoy his time.”
[Wow, since when do you act like a decent person?]
[But honestly, bowing your head is the least you could do, LOL.]
[Remember when he had to cut his art stream short because of you, you jerk?]
[You should pay damages, you absolute maniac.]
[Damages! Damages! Nothing less is acceptable, LOL.]
“Alright, if I lose this time, I’ll send a big donation.”
And I meant it.
After all, I’d caused that man plenty of trouble.
Some level of compensation was only fair.
But.
“Not that I’ll lose, anyway.”
I had no intention of losing.
Before, I may have been winging it, but this time, I’d analyzed the matchup to perfection.
If he climbed onto a wall, I knew exactly how to counter.
If he sniped from a distance, I knew where to move to avoid his line of sight.
Every possible scenario was mapped out in my head.
[LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL.]
[Please win, Glim. You know what’ll happen if you lose.]
[Get ready to be smacked down if you lose, LOL.]
[If you lose this, all your mindless FPS streams are going to come back to haunt you.]
[Oh man, I’m so ready to watch you lose.]
[Finally, the FPS Dark Age might be coming to an end…]
The pressure was mounting, but Glim’s confidence remained unwavering.
And so, the one-on-one match officially began.
As soon as the game loaded, I selected my hero.
It wasn’t the one I usually picked.
Instead, I went with a nimble male hero who dual-wielded pulse pistols.
“I’ve been sticking to sniper heroes this whole time, and it feels like they’re starting to get countered. So, I’ll go with this one.”
[+HurryAndLeave: Ooh, I like this.]
[This is the way, LOL.]
[Glim’s stream is about to be a goldmine of entertainment, LOLLLLL.]
[Glim, brace yourself, LOL.]
[I’m drooling at the thought of this matchup.]
The chat sped up again, but by now, I was used to it.
I didn’t think much of it.
After all, most of these people would leave as soon as the match was over.
“Hmm… I wonder if Glim is sticking to her usual hero?”
If I were her, I’d switch things up at this point.
But from what I knew about Glim, that didn’t seem likely.
She was too straightforward a person for that.
[+HurryAndLeave: Dunno? LOL.]
[Trying to sneak some intel, huh? LOL.]
[Come on, no cheating now.]
[Pepe: Keeping secrets like a pro, LOL.]
The chat provided no useful information.
I thought maybe one person would leak what hero she’d chosen, but no such luck.
Not that it really mattered.
With that, I typed a message in the chat.
[BestOfTheBestJaehun: First to 10 kills wins.]
“Let’s go with 10 kills—finishing in one go might be too quick.”
It felt like a longer match would be more engaging.
When I suggested it, Glim agreed right away.
[Glim1111: Sure.]
[Glim1111: Let’s do this quickly.]
“Alright, Glim’s on board. Let’s get started.”
I’d already been streaming much longer than usual.
Normally, I kept it to two or three hours a day, but waiting for Glim had stretched things out significantly.
Because of that, I planned to finish this match as quickly as possible.
Whoosh.
Using my hero’s exceptional mobility, I darted across the map, searching for Glim.
It wasn’t long before I spotted her.
“Huh?”
She was crouched behind a wall in an overly tense stance, trying to stay hidden.
However, a piece of her character’s decorative gear stuck out just enough to give her position away.
Seizing the opportunity, I dashed forward and planted a clean shot in her head.
[BestOfTheBestJaehun has eliminated Glim1111.]
“That’s one.”
The kill was so fast that Glim hadn’t even had time to react.
[+HurryAndLeave: Wow, this is just bullying at this point, LOL.]
[Jaehun, you’re too much. Glim prepared so hard just to counter your sniper, and then you pick a different hero?]
[You’re the definition of a villain…]
[Stop killing her if you don’t want to see her die. Stop killing her if you don’t want to see her die. Stop killing her if you don’t want to see her die. Stop killing her if—]
[User has been temporarily muted!]
[Pepe: Instant cut, LOL.]
[It’s a fair competition. What’s with the spam? LOL.]
[It’s just someone who can’t stand seeing their queen lose…]
Glancing at the chat, I could tell Glim had put a lot of effort into preparing for this match.
It seemed losing to me was a massive blow to her pride.
But…
“…This is kind of pitiful.”
It was amusing, in a way.
She had spent so much time studying counters and strategies to beat my usual hero.
“Hold on a second.”
A brilliant idea struck me.
I quickly made my way to where Glim respawned, fired a few pretend shots, and let her kill me.
[Glim1111 has eliminated BestOfTheBestJaehun.]
“Alright, now I’m switching heroes.”
This time, I picked the exact hero Glim had apparently been researching so diligently to counter.
It also happened to be one of my favorite heroes to play.
“Winning with this hero would make things even more entertaining.”
It was bound to get a great reaction if I beat her with the very hero she had spent so much effort preparing to counter.
[+HurryAndLeave: OMG, this is too evil, LOLLLLL.]
[This guy’s the worst, seriously.]
[Yotteu, is this really necessary?]
[Yotteu, Yotteu… why are you like this?]
[Pepe: Umm…]
[Glim’s golden opportunity, LOL. She’s about to get destroyed even harder, though.]
The chat reactions were hilarious.
There were all kinds of responses, which made the situation even more enjoyable.
Grinning, I picked the sniper hero that Glim had focused all her preparation on countering and headed into the battlefield.
How much time had passed?
[Glim1111: I’m sorry.]
[Glim1111: Could you please use a different hero…?]
Unintentionally, I had managed to extract an apology from Glim.
