The 6 years in elementary school passed by quickly.
When I first entered elementary school, I was nervous.
“Is this finally the start of the assassination school?” I thought.
But elementary school was not much different from kindergarten.
If I had to compare, it resembled an academy more than an assassination school.
In elementary school, I was able to interact with many more people.
So, over the 6 years, I gradually adapted more to this world.
I became better at understanding the world around me.
Shockingly, the underworld in this world wasn’t as exposed as I had expected.
The form of governance in each country was very egalitarian. I think they called it liberal democracy.
Thanks to that, most children could receive academy education.
Elementary school was not an assassination school, but a part of an academy.
But still, it seemed like there was a shadowy side.
The people from the underworld in this world seemed more secretive and more evil.
That’s probably why they weren’t so exposed.
I heard about Illuminati, mafia, and secret organizations of countries like America, and there were a few big powers.
When I read stories about them in books, my whole body shuddered.
I wanted to defeat them and become the king of the dark side of this planet, Earth.
To do that, I first needed to follow the laws of this world.
Even those who are part of the underworld in this world need to live above ground.
It seemed normal to act like an ordinary citizen in the open.
The strategy was to live thoroughly as an ordinary citizen above ground while hiding the underworld side.
It was a strange method for someone like me, who had lived in darkness my whole life.
But since everyone had a resident registration, I felt like I had to do it.
So, I had to act like a middle school student thoroughly.
“We’re lucky to be in the same class. Hehe.”
On the first day of middle school,
I was on my way to school with Chaeyoung and Jiyoung, as usual.
It was probably because the three of us lived near the same apartment.
When I first entered elementary school, Chaeyoung, who hadn’t overcome her trauma, clung to me so much that her family moved nearby.
Jiyoung’s family had already lived close by.
“Chaeyoung, is your mom coming to the entrance ceremony?”
“No. She has a shoot, so I think only my dad will come. And even if she came, it would just be noisy and annoying.”
“Yeah. My mom said she can’t come either. What about Siyeon?”
“She’s coming.”
Hye-won and Jihyun are currently famous clowns… I mean, mid-tier actresses in South Korea.
In a world where clowns are gaining popularity, if those two came to a ceremony like this, it would cause a big stir.
They’re actresses. Even now, they occasionally ask me if I plan to debut.
I understood that the actors here are a different concept from the clowns of my past life.
But still, revealing myself to them was a cautious matter.
I was the strongest assassin of the continent, living my whole life in darkness. I’m Nameless after all.
“Isn’t it a problem for both of you?”
“Huh?”
“What?”
Jiyoung tilted her head, and Chaeyoung crossed her arms, shooting a sharp look.
Their mothers, Hyewon and Jihyun, were well-known actresses, but these two were no less impressive.
Chaeyoung was a rising child actress who showed incredible acting in ‘The Moon That Swallowed the Sun’ last year.
Jiyoung was a famous idol trainee around here.
And everyone knew they were the daughters of famous actresses.
Sometimes, Jiyoung asks me if I want to become a trainee.
“…It’s nothing.”
I kept quiet.
Arguing with them would just be annoying.
From my experience, girls around this age tend to be like that.
They talk a lot, get upset over strange things, or feel hurt.
In my past life, at this age, I was in assassination school.
If it was a girl my age, it was either about killing her or being killed.
At some point, I had acted like a troublesome girl for the sake of acting.
But now, I had stopped that. There was no need to act with a fake personality.
I just had to appear somewhat like a person from this world.
Still, I wasn’t really caught.
Of course, because of that, girls other than Jiyoung and Chaeyoung sometimes gossiped about me.
They’d talk about how annoying Kim Siyeon was, and so on.
It wasn’t even funny, so I ignored it.
In my past life, I would have killed them.
“…!”
Whoosh-
At that moment, I felt an unpleasant gaze from somewhere.
I instinctively turned my body toward the direction of the gaze.
“S-Siyeon, why?”
“You scared me!”
Jiyoung and Chaeyoung flinched at my sudden movement.
But I ignored them and scanned my surroundings.
“Ugh, ugh, eek…”
And what I discovered was a male student wearing the same school uniform.
He was a chubby, short guy with glasses.
“Ugh, uuuh…!”
When I glared at him sharply, the male student waddled past us.
He seemed like an ordinary person with no combat skills, so I just let him go.
It felt like an uncomfortable stare, but it seemed like he was just looking.
“What’s that? Was he staring at us?”
“Looks like it. How did you know, Siyeon?”
“I felt an unpleasant gaze.”
“Ugh! It feels so uncomfortable.”
“Then, Chaeyoung, aren’t your skirt a bit too short?”
It was common to attract attention when the three of us walked together.
I guess none of us had an ordinary appearance.
It wasn’t anything special, so I just let it go.
But Chaeyoung and Jiyoung kept talking about it, lowering their skirts.
If they were going to do that, why did they make such a fuss about shortening them in the first place?
I thought it was unnecessary, but from the perspective of someone who had lived a long time in my past life, it felt like a rather mature decision.
“What if the upperclassmen ask for our numbers? I heard middle schoolers do that.”
“Ehh! Really? That sounds fun.”
“What’s fun about it? If a senior like the one earlier asks for your number, would you give it?”
“Well, of course, I wouldn’t…”
Girls of this age talk more roughly than expected.
Chaeyoung and Jiyoung continued with their wild conversation.
“Then should Siyeon take care of everything for us?”
“Why me?”
“You always protect us.”
I had helped them out in dangerous situations from time to time.
Especially Jiyoung, who was clumsy and would trip or fall often.
I had received help from their mothers, so I helped them too.
But both of them were a handful.
“Don’t act like you know us in middle school.”
“Ah, come on! Siyeon!”
“Hey, Kim Siyeon!”
Middle school life seemed like it would be quite a hassle.
The noisy gymnasium of Sebit Middle School.
Today was the entrance ceremony day at Sebit Middle School.
School is like a small society. Since its members are young, it can be more savage than the real world.
The 2nd and 3rd-year students were watching the new 1st-years, who were all frozen with nerves.
“I must have been like that. So cute, so cute~”
“Hey, isn’t that girl cute over there?”
They weren’t adults yet, but within their society, their hierarchy was high.
Of course, kids of this age grow day by day.
They were much more experienced than the newly graduated elementary school students.
“Wow… Damn. Look over there.”
“What? Where? Where?”
“Over there! Those three girls!”
Seochogu missile punch, Kang Dongwoo.
He was a 3rd-year at Sebit Middle School and was known as the king of the school.
He was close with the local high school bullies, so no one dared to mess with him in middle school.
Dongwoo looked at the place pointed out by the king of Seochogu, Kim Chanwoo.
“ot M…
“What’s that?”
Dongwoo opened his mouth as soon as he saw them.
There were three girls, who appeared to be freshmen, standing and talking to each other.
They were stunning beauties, standing out among the other students.
‘Hey, that new girl this year is a bitch, but isn’t she the one from the soap opera?’
‘Wow, you’re right. Then I have a crush on her.’
‘Then I’m the tall one over there.’
‘Hey, Dongwoo! What are you looking at?’
‘Hey, look over there. This year’s freshman water is getting fucked.’
‘Shit.’
One by one, the boys gather around Dongwoo and Chanwoo.
They’re all huddled together, looking at the three female freshmen.
‘Hey, I think she’s the prettiest one, the cute one over there.’
‘I’m her. She’s even prettier than the one in the drama.’
‘Dude, no, she could be a real idol.’
As is typical for boys of this age, they rudely commented on each other’s looks.
The votes were evenly split between Jiyoung and ChaeYoung, but it was Demo who stole the show.
‘No, she’s really too much. I’ve never seen anyone that pretty on TV.’
‘Hey, shut up. She’s the one. I’m flirting.’
The men cheered at Dongwoo’s bombshell.
Dongwoo smiled wryly at the demonstration.
I was scared of middle school. Shall we go to karaoke?
‘You don’t have to go to the practice room?’
‘I finished early, so I don’t mind if you hang out for a while. Chae-young, do you want to go to karaoke?’
‘Okay.’
‘I didn’t tell you I was going yet…’
Drool.
Shimo, Jiyoung, and ChaeYoung were packing up and heading out.
The back door of their class opened and someone walked in.
‘Hey, it’s them. With the girl from The Moon That Swallowed the Sun.’
‘Wow, she’s really pretty. Does she have a nose?’
The girls were second-year students at Sevit Middle School.
With mulberry bangs in their bangs and white make-up like clowns, they walked into the classroom, chewing gum.
‘What, what?’
‘Isn’t that the senior? Kim Siyeon, a sophomore?’
‘You’re friends with high school students? Why, why are you in my class?’
Woong Sung Woong Sung
They were famous in the neighbourhood.
The other kids were terrified and quickly packed up and ran away.
Only Demo, Chae-young, and Ji-young remained in the classroom, staring at them from afar.
‘Are you her, Kim Siyeon?’
‘What did you do to your face? You’re good at make-up~’
‘…?’
They walked over to Demo and giggled amongst themselves as they examined his face.
Siyeon looked down at the girls distantly.
‘Well, anyway, Dongwoo’s brother is interested.’
‘Come with me. Dongwoo wants to see you.’
‘You two, come with me.’
With a shove on Siyeon’s shoulder, the girls walked out of the classroom.
‘Who are those ugly things?’
‘I think they’re the Iljin sisters. Siyeon, what should we do?’
‘Let’s follow them.’
Chae-young glared at the girls and Ji-young shivered.
Siyeon picked up her bag and followed them.
Chae-young and Ji-young followed without question.
They followed the women to an alleyway.
There, in the thick smoke of cigarettes, the members were gathered and giggling.
‘Ah, here we are. Tsk-’
Seocho-gu Missile Punch’s Kang Dong-woo, who was smoking a cigarette at the centre of the group, spat on the ground.
He extinguished his cigarette and trudged towards the demonstration.
‘Hi, you know my brother, right?’
Dongwoo puts his arm around Siyeon’s shoulder.
The other guys walked over and started clustering around Chae-young and Ji-young.
‘You’re him, right? From ‘The Moon That Swallowed the Sun’. You’re even more fucking gorgeous in person.’
‘Oh, let go…What…’
‘What’s your name?’
‘Hey, don’t do this…’
Chae-young and Ji-young are surrounded by a group of men.
Chae-young was pushing away their touches as if she was offended.
Jiyoung cowered in fear.
‘Didn’t you look pretty at the entrance ceremony earlier?’
And Dongwoo caught her in the act.
‘I see. The real assassination lessons start in middle school.’
He laughed.
