Thank you all for reading “This Kingdom Needs a Coup.”
This story originally began as a spontaneous idea—
I wanted to write a novel centered around a coup, so I started adding layers, developing the plot, and eventually, it became what you see today.
To be honest, I faced quite a few challenges along the way.
I had a general outline of the story, but I struggled with filling in the details at times.
There were moments where I had to improvise, inserting characters and events like a last-minute script, which made some parts feel a bit forced in hindsight.
Some elements were even added on the spot based on reader comments.
Still, I think I managed to tie up most loose ends, and the story didn’t completely fall apart—so overall, I’d say it turned out decently.
And with this, Carolus’ journey comes to an end.
I hope to see you all soon with my next work.
Right now, I’m considering:
- A protagonist who uses a Death Note-style power but only eliminates real criminals, restoring order to the world.
- A war hero who is betrayed by the empire and defects to the Demon Lord’s army, turning against humanity.
- A villainous protagonist who is forcibly summoned by a Goddess and wreaks havoc on the world through ideology.
Not sure which one will take off first, but we’ll see…
