Chapter 34: Captain Miss

In the shadowy thickets of the forest, the light was dim and mottled, obscured by countless layers of cover.

But perhaps she’d hit her head too many times— afraid of bumping into something again, the little troublemaker walked extremely slowly, allowing Wu Ma to follow with ease.

Wu Yi was completely unaware of Wu Ma’s presence.

She could only feel her heart pounding wildly as she ran deeper into the woods in a panic.

Her skin was burning up— an ominous sign that change was coming.

Her eyes stung. Tears spilled from beneath the blindfold.

Frustrated, Wu Yi tore off the blindfold and her vision slowly began to clear.

Wait… something was wrong. Why was only one eye working…?

Her left eye could see perfectly, but her right remained shrouded in darkness.

“You’ve got to be kidding me!”

Wu Yi felt like crying but had no tears left. 

A deep sense of foreboding crept over her.

Her once-slender figure was indeed growing— her legs longer and more striking.

Power returned to her delicate body, but with it came a deep, smoldering heat in her chest.

It was the overwhelming surge of an intensely sensual temperament.

Yet the Wu Ye she had so longed for hadn’t appeared— instead, her clothes were tight and straining, her figure more mature, her wine-red nails brushing aside her bangs, eyes half-lidded with a lazy allure. 

A blend of dominance and seduction merged naturally within her. 

Her face still bore a pure, flawless beauty, but somehow exuded a bold, invasive charm that could stir the hearts of all who saw her.

Her long hair fell in soft, tousled waves. 

Wu Yi slung the blindfold loosely around her forehead, covering only one eye.

Wu Ye’s clothes were completely useless now. Instead, she had no choice but to change into sheer black stockings and a provocative off-shoulder top.

Rising to her feet, she felt her entire body buzzing with vitality and heat, desperate for a satisfying outlet.

Unbidden, her mind replayed last night’s entanglement with Kefulu, and for some reason, the memory irritated her.

“That little thing had the nerve to lie on top of me.”

She tilted her chin, casually draping a jacket over her shoulders. 

With a queen’s grace, she stretched her body and sauntered back the way she came.

In one hand, she held a scented smoking pipe, its fragrance sinking deep into her lungs before she slowly exhaled.

A wicked curve danced on her lips.

She made her way back to the courtyard.

Kefulu stared at the woman before her— the aura was completely unfamiliar, yet the scent was unmistakably familiar.

“You are… huh?”

Kefulu was forced to lift her chin.

Because Wu Yi had used her smoking pipe to tilt it up.

“From here on out, I’m taking over. I’ll take you to the Plains State. I’ll take you to find Wu Yi,” she said slowly, locking eyes with Kefulu in a deliberately seductive gaze.

Then she leaned down, lips brushing against her ear, tongue flicking her earlobe: “Do. You. Understand. Me?”

In that instant, Kefulu actually felt like she’d become her own little priestess— the one being toyed with, the weaker side.

Absurd.

It was utterly humiliating!

Her pride would never allow her to be the submissive one.

With a fierce glare, she suddenly grabbed Wu Yi’s collar and yanked her face close.

There can be no two tigers on one mountain. 

If anyone dared to challenge the king’s position, no matter who it was— they would be crushed beneath her.

“Don’t you dare talk to me in that tone,” Kefulu said through gritted teeth.

“Oh~ Did the little octopus just change colors from fright?” Wu Yi giggled behind her hand, utterly unbothered. “Come on, spray your ink for big sis.”

You’re asking for it.

The woman’s flippant teasing enraged Kefulu.

Suddenly, she shot out her tendrils, hooking Wu Yi’s ankle clad in black silk and hoisting her into the air, dragging her into the room.

But Wu Yi showed no fear.

Because the one standing here now was not the prophet being dragged along by fate, nor the leader who had once beheaded a god-king—

She was the Queen of the Seas thirteen years ago.

The woman who had once ruled the seven oceans, made the three pirate emperors bow before her, and was worshipped by all pirates as the ultimate faith.

“Mmm… that tingles a little.”

Wu Yi casually pried off Kefulu’s tendrils, though she was secretly alert.

Kefulu really had gotten stronger. 

Probably because she’d reined in her scattered mental energy, her venom was now more concentrated and acted faster.

In this Captain form, Wu Yi seemed to be evenly matched with Kefulu. 

If the sea monster managed to inject too much venom… if too many tendrils bound her…

She might actually lose.

Heh. That could be fun.

A captain and a sea monster— natural-born enemies.

Let’s see if it’s your tentacles that tie up my ship… or my blade that cuts your limbs down.

“What’s your relationship with my priestess?” Kefulu demanded, her voice laced with mental compulsion.

“Relationship? Why don’t you guess~”

Wu Yi sat on the table, crossing one leg over the other, lazily sucking on her smoking pipe.

She exhaled a fragrant puff of smoke into Kefulu’s face, relishing her frown of disgust. 

Only then did she smile, clearly satisfied:

“All you need to know is this— From here on out, I’m the one taking you forward.”

Then, mimicking Kefulu’s tone from the night before, she added with a smirk:

“Be~ a~ good~ girl~”

“…Hah… hahahaha…”

Kefulu laughed, goaded past the edge.

Her gaze grew feral and hungry.

“Interesting.”

She knew now— this overbearing woman had completely awakened her desire.

“I want to see… when my venom fills your mouth, will you still be as mouthy as that little priestess of mine?”

“If you’ve got the guts, go ahead and try,” Wu Yi said, flicking Kefulu’s dangling tendril with her toe and tossing it aside in disgust. “Tch. You sea monsters… all bark, no bite.”

“When we get to the sea… I’ll show you exactly what part of me is hard.”
