“You did great,” Professor Eve said with a sigh of relief.
“Professor,” Ping Yanyan whispered, “What do we do next?”
With that, she forcefully pulled her sword out of the Deadpool’s body, stabbed it in again, repeating the action several times.
At the same time, she warily looked around and shakily pulled out her phone, attempting to call the police, still appearing disoriented.
Her acting was comparable to a seasoned movie star.
However…
An Xiaoyi frowned.
He thought the female student’s reaction should be more realistic.
For example, she should have immediately run towards a crowded place instead of waiting there.
That’s how normal victims react; they want to leave the place first.
An Xiaoyi had seen too many crime scenes involving vampires.
Even enforcers or ordinary people, after dealing with a blood slave Deadpool that attacked them alone, or narrowly escaping, would first flee.
The female student just stood there, staring around, as if afraid the vampire wouldn’t realize this was a trap.
He suddenly understood why the Principal said that the vampire always disappeared without a trace each time.
St. Antiona Academy was too eager for its students to grow, so they always involved students in operations, serving as bait or advance teams to allow students better contact with vampires.
No matter how well-trained the senior students were, they could never compare to experienced enforcers.
He thought the executing professor should know this.
“Retreat now, it’s best to run,” Professor Eve commanded.
“Don’t stay put.”
The female student ran frantically along the street.
Everyone stared intently at the vicinity of the street, no one noticed the faint, blurry shadow subtly appearing under the lamppost.
Found it.
An Xiaoyi observed the attitude of the executing professors; they seemed to have not noticed the anomaly by the lamppost.
In his ear, he faintly heard a man’s cold sneer of mockery.
Standing behind the professors, An Xiaoyi tilted his head in thought, an unnoticeable blood-red flash in his eyes.
He felt that the other party hadn’t fully discovered the school’s trap; they were just overly cautious.
Just then, Eve’s finger twitched slightly, and a strong gust of wind swept from the side, quickly dissipating.
“The effect of your power?” An Xiaoyi asked in a low voice.
“Wind Whisper. I can use the wind to detect situations within a kilometer,” Eve didn’t mind telling him about her power.
She looked over, her eyes filled with worry, “This operation might fail.”
“Still haven’t found it?” another executing professor sighed.
“By now, it has probably already discovered us. Vampires are very sensitive to powers.”
An Xiaoyi looked at the blurry shadow under the lamppost; it hadn’t left, but the effect of one of its powers could almost perfectly camouflage it as invisible.
Now, its eyes were clearly alert.
An Xiaoyi’s fingers twitched slightly, and he opened his mouth, forming silent words.
Suddenly, a gust of strong wind swept through, as if invisible blades had cut through the man’s body, leaving shattered, sharp wounds on his clothes, with black-red blood sliding down his muscles.
He dodged in surprise.
“Why is the wind so strong?” Professor Eve asked, puzzled.
At this moment, she widened her eyes.
The enforcers all sensed something and looked over.
Everyone saw a figure standing by the lamppost.
Everyone’s gaze intensified.
The figure appeared silently, as if he had been there all along.
He just looked a bit disheveled, bleeding black blood, and his clothes were tattered.
A Pureblood Vampire!
“Target sighted!” Eve shouted.
She turned and looked directly into An Xiaoyi’s eyes, “Please!” With that, she led a group of executing professors down the stairs, rushing towards the Pureblood Vampire who was exposed but in no hurry to leave.
“I don’t think this bullet can kill him,” An Xiaoyi murmured softly to himself.
Under the scope, positioned enforcers and students converged on the lamppost, the most unsuspecting spot, where no one would imagine a vampire hiding.
The running students continuously fired mercury-infused neurotoxin bullets.
The instant a bullet hit, it exploded into a dense mist, like clouds floating at their feet.
A young man in Adidas stepped out, the soft tap of his leather shoes sounding nonchalant.
He had a handsome face and pallid skin, like a demon draped in human skin.
He wasn’t injured, and even casually brushed off some debris from his clothes.
He tilted his head, a peculiar look on his face, his blue eyes boldly scanning Professor Eve.
Then, his gaze swept across the enforcers and students holding guns in every direction.
He seemed to be pondering, wondering why tonight’s hunt felt different.
How could this woman have found him?
“Good evening, everyone,” the man said in broken Mandarin.
“Could you please move aside?”
He stood still, not at all bothered by these humans.
His azure, almost polycoria-like eyes rotated rapidly, judging the most threatening human with extreme speed.
He directly locked onto Professor Eve.
“Don’t you feel heavy?” Eve looked at him calmly.
“A little,” the man said faintly.
“I’m surprised you could discover—”
The trigger was pulled.
In An Xiaoyi’s eyes, the bullet simply left the muzzle at a speed visible to the naked eye.
He braced against the immense recoil of the anti-material sniper rifle, watching as the vampire was struck in the heart by the bullet.
The powerful impact sent the man “flying” several meters.
An Xiaoyi felt that was the optimal moment to shoot.
The vampire had been moving, assessing Eve, so he wasn’t completely still, but An Xiaoyi still took the shot, trusting his judgment.
It was a direct hit.
His chest was blown open, his heart shattered.
The man lay face down in a crumpled posture, his eyes blank.
“As expected of someone the Principal values,” Eve looked towards An Xiaoyi’s position.
But then she fell into thought.
That sudden gust of wind earlier was clearly an enhanced version of her Wind Whisper power.
Her power was S-rank, only able to use wind to cut the target when it was found.
That strong gust of wind was SS-rank Wind Whisper, but no one else present possessed such a power.
Before she could think further, an executing professor waved, and several enforcers moved forward to check the situation.
“Inject neurotoxin.”
This time, the neurotoxin-laced bullets finally penetrated the man’s body.
Even if he were still alive, it would be difficult for him to resist, only to become a lamb to the slaughter, then to be impaled through the heart with a silver sword.
But that was impossible.
He had been so utterly destroyed by the bullet that he had no heart left.
How could he still be alive?
Watching this scene, An Xiaoyi lowered his gun and turned to leave.
The vampire’s eyes suddenly darted around.
Eve shouted, “Everyone, create distance!”
The students retreated, then Eve commanded several enforcers forward.
The man unexpectedly tried to slowly get up, then the first bullet exploded near his head, the second bullet passed through his throat, followed by a third bullet that shattered his face.
The enforcers pressed their blades into the vampire’s body, leaving almost no part of him intact.
“How is he still moving?” This fell into Professor Eve’s blind spot of knowledge.
“Damn it!” The adjacent executing professor exclaimed in shock.
