“Your genetic compatibility with the T-virus being high only means one thing — you won’t immediately mutate into a monster.”

“You may not be turning into an unspeakable creature yet,”

“But you’re still not out of the woods.”

Christine drew a large balloon on the board with the marker.

“Let’s say your body is like a balloon,” she explained.

“And the T-virus is like a hairdryer blowing air into it — one that never stops and that nobody can turn off.”

“The better the material of the balloon, the longer it can withstand the air from the virus — and the more ‘air’ it can hold.”

“But the worse the balloon’s quality…”

“Boom!”

She made a bursting gesture, startling Li Yiming.

He instinctively touched his chest, feeling his rapidly beating heart, and shivered.

He understood what Christine was getting at now.

Right now, he hadn’t mutated yet.

But he could clearly feel the T-virus continuously “blowing air” into his body.

If it continued like this, eventually his body would—just like the balloon—explode!

“Then… doesn’t that mean I’m doomed?”

Li Yiming clutched his chest, speaking gloomily.

Christine, however, smiled at that moment.

The main character’s situation in that story was strikingly similar to his own now.

Back then, the protagonist was racing against time.

And now, Li Yiming had to outrun the T-virus’s transformation—outrun death itself!

“Heh…”

Li Yiming suddenly let out a small smile.

Christine stared blankly at the smiling Li Yiming, slightly stunned.

This guy… really might be something else.

Most people, upon hearing that their life was hanging by a thread every passing second, would have mentally collapsed on the spot.

The T-virus enhancement was like a Damocles’ sword hanging over one’s head—

Run just a little too slow, and the sword would come crashing down.

Yet Li Yiming, facing such a situation where his very life was dangling by the waistband…

He smiled?

What a madman…Christine shook her head helplessly.

“What are you smiling at? You don’t really think you’ve got plenty of time, do you?”

“Even though we haven’t found any other test subjects with a genetic compatibility as high as yours,”

“We have run predictive simulations using mathematical models.”

“Also, I can make a drug that slows down the T-virus enhancement rate.”

Li Yiming’s eyes lit up instantly when he heard that.

“Really?!”

“Damn—are you Doraemon or something? How can you make everything?!”

At that, Christine’s face darkened immediately.

This guy… seriously needed his mouth smacked.

If she weren’t physically outmatched, she really would’ve kicked him on the spot!

Forcing herself to hold back the urge to curse him out on the spot,Christine rubbed her temples, her shoulders trembling slightly as she muttered:

“While I can make a suppressant that weakens the T-virus’s activity,my lab is currently missing one very important ingredient…”

“I need a vial of T-Antivirus Serum.”
