Chapter 18: Leisure Time

After Ye Jinyi finished enjoying herself, Huimengyi asked her to sit on the sofa while she headed into the kitchen to find something to treat her guest.

“So comfortable~”

Ye Jinyi sank into the soft, squishy sofa, and that feeling of being enveloped—it really was something else.

She suddenly understood why bosses always had a couple of genuine leather couches in their offices.

With how comfortable this was, if she had money, she’d definitely buy one too!

A short while later, Huimengyi came out of the kitchen carrying a plate of fruit and two glasses of orange juice, which she placed on the coffee table.

After setting the plate down, Huimengyi handed one of the glasses to Ye Jinyi.

“Here, drink up.”

“Thanks!”

Ye Jinyi took the orange juice and started drinking.

Huimengyi picked an apple from the plate, took a bite, and sat down on the sofa with Ye Jinyi.

“Wanna watch some TV?”

She picked up the remote and got ready to turn on the big screen mounted on the wall.

Ye Jinyi quickly swallowed her sip of juice and replied.

“Sure!”

Hearing her response, Huimengyi pressed the power button, and the screen flickered to life.

Huimengyi glanced at Ye Jinyi, who was sipping her juice.

“By the way, Shifu, what should I call you now? Should I keep calling you Shifu? Or just use your name—Ye Jinyi?”

Ye Jinyi had to pause her drinking again.

“Ye Jinyi. Just call me by my name. Our master-disciple relationship came from an online game anyway, it’s not like it’s anything fancy.”

“Got it.”

“So, Ye Jinyi, what do you want to watch?”

That question stumped her.

“Let me think…”

Ye Jinyi couldn’t really come up with anything she wanted to watch.

After all, movie companies these past few years had been constantly cash-grabbing—she had zero motivation to watch anything.

Some so-called top-tier masterpieces of the year would probably blow a gasket if they heard that.

Her memory was still stuck in those years full of trash-tier flicks.

People only have so much energy, but the things they face are endless.

Ye Jinyi had poured all her energy into work, so naturally, there was none left for art.

“By the way, Huimengyi, what do you like to watch?”

Next moment, the TV began playing the well-known supernatural, mystery, and adventure show—Approaching Science.

They watched for about thirty minutes and had just started getting into the story when, suddenly.

“Coming up after the break!”

That was it—Ye Jinyi completely lost interest.

Anyone could waste her time, but not commercials—unless she was getting a cut of the profits.

“Let’s just play some games instead.”

Ye Jinyi slumped weakly beside Huimengyi like a puddle of melted ice cream.

Her time was like water in a sponge—if capital wanted to squeeze it, there was always more to lose~

You successfully wasted two minutes of my life with a meaningless ad.

“I’ll turn it off then.”

“Wanna play cards?”

“I wanna build a house in a sandbox game.”

After speaking, she pulled out her phone and showed Huimengyi the sandbox game she had installed.

“Okay, I’ll download it now.”

Huimengyi opened the app store, found the game, and a few minutes later, had it installed.

“Done downloading! Let’s play now.”

“Alright, I’ll make a room and wait for you to register your account.”

Ye Jinyi opened a map and created an online game room.

“Room’s ready. Add me as a friend and I’ll pull you in.”

“Room number 63618.”

Huimengyi searched the number, found Ye Jinyi’s room, and entered the game.

Seeing that Huimengyi had joined, Ye Jinyi said:

“Alright, let’s get started.”

With that, she picked a spot as her area and began building her little house.

About ten minutes later, Ye Jinyi had just finished her matchbox-style structure and was ready for a break.

Time to go see how Huimengyi’s build was coming along~

Ye Jinyi made her way over to Huimengyi’s spot, took one look, and froze in place.

“So beautiful…”

Even though Huimengyi’s house wasn’t that big and was still a work in progress, every area and every decoration she had completed was placed with stunning precision and harmony.

It was genuinely pleasing to the eye.

In comparison, Ye Jinyi’s randomly stacked matchbox looked ridiculously crude.

Comparison really is the thief of joy!

She was supposed to be the experienced one, yet she’d been outclassed by a beginner.

Ye Jinyi felt deeply humiliated.

Putting down her phone, Ye Jinyi scooted over and asked, “Huimengyi, how did you build that? Teach me?”

“I just built it the way I usually draw.”

Huimengyi answered honestly.

So this is what a natural-born artist looks like?

Turns out she was a talent-based player—no matter how hard you tried, you just couldn’t catch up~

Come to think of it, Huimengyi’s magical girl abilities were indeed related to drawing.

Guess that counts as using her talents in the right place.

Just then, the entryway door opened.

“Mengyi, Dad and I are home.”

Xiang Yujie said as she took off her heels, switched into slippers, and walked into the living room.

“Oh! Xiaoyi, you’re here! Welcome!”

“Hello, Auntie Xiang!”

Ye Jinyi waved and smiled at her, secretly hoping Auntie would be in a good mood and make her that strawberry cake.

“Did you come over to hang out with Mengyi?”

“Yup!”

Ye Jinyi nodded earnestly. She was here to eat, drink, and have a good time.

Huimengyi also paused her game and turned to her mom.

“Mom, Ye Jinyi wants strawberry cake. Can you make her some?”

“Hehe~ no problem! I’ve still got some ingredients at home. I’ll whip one up for you two right now.”
