Song Qiuyu walked past Jiang Xiao, who was changing his pants, picked up the military training uniform from the table, and scurried into the bathroom, locking the door.
“Song Qiuyu, if you’re just changing clothes, why are you running into the bathroom?”
It was Gu Nian who asked this.
Song Qiuyu had long expected this; Xie Zhuran had teased her about it just yesterday morning.
She replied nonchalantly, “What’s wrong? Do you really want to see?”
These words, when they reached Gu Nian and the other roommates’ ears, were automatically translated into: “You’re probably gay, aren’t you? Do you really want to see a man’s body that much?”
Gu Nian was instantly choked, and the other roommates who had been casting curious glances at the bathroom door immediately withdrew their gaze awkwardly.
What’s there to see about Song Qiuyu’s body? She doesn’t have any of the necessary hardware.
Hiss, don’t say it, but they really did want to see.
However, honestly, with Song Qiuyu hiding like this, could it be that it’s not just her face that looks like a girl’s, but even her “little Qiuyu” too… which is why she’s afraid of them seeing…
The more they thought, the more their minds wandered, until they couldn’t help but feel sympathy for their roommate in the bathroom.
“Alright, alright, alright! If you want to hide in the bathroom to change, then hide. But hurry up, I’m a bit urgent!” Gu Nian changed the subject.
“Okay, okay, okay!”
Responding, Song Qiuyu quickly changed into her military training uniform.
Before her belt was even fully fastened, she opened the door and walked out of the bathroom.
The fact that the base apartments don’t separate the bathroom and toilet is truly a bit inconvenient.
She was even rushed while changing clothes.
This time, Gu Nian really was in a hurry.
As soon as she walked out of the bathroom, Gu Nian flashed in like lightning, slammed the door shut.
Song Qiuyu stood on the balcony, lowering her head to fasten her military training belt.
At this moment, Jiang Xiao had already put on his military training cap.
With an unintentional glance, he happened to see Song Qiuyu pull up her waistband a bit too vigorously, revealing a small section of her smooth, jade-like calf and heel.
The military training camouflage pants were quite loose on Song Qiuyu, but with that pull, they subtly outlined her graceful leg shape.
Jiang Xiao easily completed the image of her leg shape in his mind, his eyes narrowing slightly, feeling a sense of familiarity.
However, on second thought, he felt he was overthinking it.
After all, he and Song Qiuyu had spent three years together in junior high, so it shouldn’t be strange to feel familiar with Song Qiuyu’s legs.
After fastening her belt, Song Qiuyu turned and walked back into the room, then opened the bag containing a pile of daily necessities.
Sanitary pads were among them.
Even though DS said the first period wouldn’t be heavy, for safety’s sake, it was better to bring an extra one.
So, she secretly looked around at her roommates, and seeing their attention wasn’t on her, she quickly reached both hands into the bag.
Then, she secretly rolled up a sanitary pad and hid it in her palm, then stuffed it into her sleeve.
Immediately after, she casually got up and sat on the stool to change her shoes.
As she tied her shoelaces, she secretly breathed a sigh of relief, a trickle of cold sweat sliding down her cheek.
Guys, who understands this thrill of being a thief! But it seems she’ll have to be a thief for the rest of her life!
After leaving the apartment, she pretended to be calm and hid the wad of sanitary pad packaging she had torn off last night inside an ordinary tissue, then threw it into the trash can outside the cafeteria.
The third day of military training was cloudy.
The military training freshmen stood in their formations with the best spirit they’d had since the start of school, staring unblinkingly at the real guns in the instructor’s hands, like cats seeing fish.
There were many new students, but not many guns were prepared for them, only ten in total.
The square-faced instructor finally demonstrated target practice for them, then allowed them to hold the guns and practice freely.
Of course, the instructor wouldn’t give them bullets yet.
For their safety, even the magazines on the guns had been removed.
The free practice time was only one hour.
After this, the instructor would assess their situation, and only then would he give them bullets for formal target practice.
If their target practice performance wasn’t up to par, they wouldn’t be allowed to eat.
Target practice is fun for a while, but continuous target practice isn’t always fun.
“An hour, huh? That’s a challenging task!” Song Qiuyu frowned, looking at the gun currently in Jiang Xiao’s hand.
As one of the best students in military training, it was reasonable and proper for him to get the gun first.
Around them, a large crowd of people who hadn’t yet touched a real gun gathered.
Xie Zhuran was one of them.
“Jiang Xiao, lend me the gun! I’m going to do something big!”
So, Jiang Xiao lent it.
Xie Zhuran then self-directedly rolled on the ground a few times, then raised the gun, striking a pose he thought was incredibly cool.
Song Qiuyu blinked: “That’s it?”
Then his gun was taken back by Jiang Xiao.
Song Qiuyu had an expression of “an old father entrusting his daughter-in-law to his son” as she looked at Sang Tian and Jiang Xiao.
With Jiang Xiao’s ability, there would definitely be no problem.
“Jiang Xiao, let’s teach Sang Tian together first!”
“…”
Jiang Xiao looked at her expressionlessly for a couple of seconds, his calm eyes subtly revealing a hint of disbelief.
What on earth was in Song Qiuyu’s head?
Song Qiuyu’s mind was entirely focused on getting Jiang Xiao to cheer up and to happily date Sang Tian.
She actively encouraged Sang Tian: “Don’t worry, we’ll teach you together, you’ll definitely get it!”
“I appreciate your kindness, Song student, but no need. Actually, I pretty much understand it; I just need to practice.”
Sang Tian, however, shook her head and declined.
“Ah.”
Song Qiuyu was stunned for a moment.
She felt a mix of pity and regret, but she managed to keep her expression straight, nodded, and scratched the back of her neck with a small hand, “Is that so? Well then, Jiang Xiao, I didn’t watch carefully enough when the instructor demonstrated just now… could you teach me?”
She had originally planned to kill two birds with one stone: Jiang Xiao would teach Sang Tian, and she would secretly learn by their side to catch up.
“Mm.”
Jiang Xiao nodded lightly.
He handed the gun to her.
As soon as she received it, her eyes lit up, and she rubbed it back and forth with her palms, touching it repeatedly.
“Done touching it?”
“Done touching! And ready!” She withdrew her fingers from the muzzle and gripped the gun’s handle with both hands.
Jiang Xiao moved aside, giving her the best position for target practice.
There were a total of ten shooting positions on the field, all occupied now, with a two-meter distance between each person.
Fifty meters in front of the shooting positions was the electronic target system.
Traffic lights flickered on the electronic target, which had Peking opera mask patterns printed on the target paper; these had continuously changed during the instructor’s earlier target practice.
Song Qiuyu raised the gun in her hand.
Without any flashy moves, she felt incredibly cool at that moment!
Her small hand first tried pulling the trigger, firing a few “air shots.”
Jiang Xiao silently walked behind her and began hands-on instruction.
Watching Song Qiuyu hold the gun in front, with Jiang Xiao behind her helping adjust the angle and explaining, Sang Tian was slightly dazed.
She suddenly felt that Song student was like the little tabby cat her family kept—obedient and pretty—while Jiang Xiao was like the Tibetan Mastiff next door, always cold-faced, with a certain sense of distance and danger.
Her family’s little tabby cat always fearlessly teased the neighbor’s Tibetan Mastiff, yet the Mastiff never slapped it to death or bit it as they expected.
They got along unexpectedly well.
The angle was adjusted.
Song Qiuyu pursed her lips, her finger on the trigger eager to move, “Jiang Xiao, it seems like it’s already aimed?”
She was very confident in her eyesight.
“The muzzle is off.”
Jiang Xiao held her restless small hand, adjusted the crooked angle back, and leaned forward so her back rested against his chest.
A mix of shampoo and shower gel scent blended with a faint body odor wafted into his nostrils.
It was slightly cool.
He furrowed his brows slightly, and with a faint expression, guided her hand to try pulling the trigger.
At the same time, he simulated the bullet’s trajectory in his mind.
It should be a bullseye.
Sang Tian quietly watched them, listening to the occasional female voices beside her saying, “They’re so well-matched, aren’t they!”, and gradually felt as if a door to a new world was opening to her.
She widened her eyes.
It had to be said, Song student and Jiang Xiao really were a good match.
She had thought so since their first meeting.
At that time, she had even thought they were boyfriend and girlfriend.
An hour was up.
Sang Tian returned to her class’s formation.
All military training freshmen began to queue, in groups of ten, taking turns to shoot.
The Directing Department was ahead of the Dance Department.
Song Qiuyu was ahead of Jiang Xiao; Lin An and Xie Zhuran were in front of her.
With a bang, the Peking opera mask on the target paper turned white; Xie Zhuran had scored 6.6 points.
Another bang, the Peking opera mask on the target paper turned black; Lin An had scored 4 points.
“Qiuyu, it’s your turn, good luck!” Lin An turned, handed the gun to Song Qiuyu, patted her shoulder, and went to the back of the line.
“Mm!”
Song Qiuyu nodded, then took a deep breath, walked to the shooting position, and raised the gun in her hand.
Sang Tian is fujoing out! Good for her, good for her
