The corpses of Zombies… someone?
Lin Mo immediately realized that Zombies wouldn’t attack their own kind.
The only ones capable of killing Zombies were likely other survivors—and a particularly formidable one at that.
Ordinary survivors couldn’t take down four or five Zombies at once.
Even for Lin Mo at this stage, dealing with that many wouldn’t be a simple task.
At this thought, Lin Mo grew tense.
This person was definitely not to be underestimated!
Moving quietly toward the interior of the supermarket, the smell of blood grew stronger, the atmosphere more oppressive.
Every now and then, he’d spot Zombie corpses on the ground, bearing deep wounds—some even decapitated, their heads rolled to the side…
“Groooaaar—!”
A Zombie’s roar came from not far away.
Lin Mo followed the sound, but by the time he arrived, it had already ceased.
Only a Zombie’s corpse remained, dark red viscous blood slowly oozing out.
“Whoosh―”
The sound of a blade cutting through the air reached him.
Lin Mo shuddered, swiftly raising his axe to block the incoming strike.
“Clang―!”
Metal clashed.
A tremendous force traveled through the axe handle into Lin Mo’s hands, numbing his palms.
“Who has such strength?!”
Just as Lin Mo was reeling in shock, the other person spoke.
“Human?”
His voice sounded hoarse, as if he hadn’t spoken in a while.
“Yes,” Lin Mo replied.
Almost simultaneously, both lowered their weapons in unspoken agreement.
Lin Mo glanced at the man’s weapon-a sword.
He wasn’t well-versed in such things and didn’t know its name, but its craftsmanship appeared exquisite, clearly no ordinary blade.
Then, Lin Mo turned his gaze to the man.
He looked young, under thirty, with a sturdy build though not particularly muscular.
Logically, he shouldn’t possess strength that even Lin Mo could barely withstand.
At the same time, the man was studying Lin Mo.
When he saw his youthful face and slender frame, he too seemed surprised.
“An Awakened?” the man asked, frowning.
“Huh?” Lin Mo was baffled, not understanding what he meant.
“You don’t know?”
The man’s expression turned odd before he explained,
“After the apocalypse, most people either turned into Zombies due to poor constitution or other reasons, while a small portion remained ordinary humans. Then there’s an even rarer group who, for unknown reasons, gained strength far surpassing normal humans. We call them the Awakened.”
“So, you’re an Awakened then?”
At that moment, a string of data flashed through Lin Mo’s mind.

Name: Fang Rui
Level: 3 (Low-tier Strength Awakened)
Occupation: None
Strength: 4.5
Agility: 2
Constitution: 3
Spirit: 1

No wonder Lin Mo had nearly been overpowered-4.5 strength was staggering.
Though the other attributes were weaker compared to Lin Mo’s.
“So this is an Awakened…”
Lin Mo hadn’t expected such people to exist in this apocalyptic world.
But perhaps it was for the better-it meant greater hope for humanity’s survival.
Still…
“How do you know all this?”
Lin Mo asked.
“I used to be a general in the military district. Shortly after the apocalypse began, we discovered these things.”
The man didn’t conceal anything and directly told Lin Mo.
“A general in the military district?”
Lin Mo was instantly shocked.
No wonder this person was so formidable.
An ordinary person, even with awakened powers, might not necessarily be able to kill so many Zombies alone.
Dealing with Zombies requires more than just strength- what’s indispensable is courage and fighting spirit.
“But why did you leave the military district? Also, what about the government… isn’t the army planning to provide support?”
Lin Mo fired off several questions in a row, all of which had been puzzling him recently.
