“Hmph hmph hmph~
With a top-tier magic sword like me, a mere LV6 kitten can’t hurt you~”
A cute female voice, tinged with a hint of arrogance and smugness, spoke.
Seeing the girl’s puzzled expression, Eleanor began to demonstrate her abilities.
“Shining · Healing Art”
This is a high-tier healing spell, one that only a rare few exceptionally gifted clerics can master at LV7, and it’s one of the key conditions for determining whether a cleric can reach the eighth tier.
“Shining · Gale Covenant”
A high-tier speed enhancement spell, a mandatory course for high-tier clerics, though applying the Shining prefix to it is quite challenging.
“Shining · Holy Descent Barrier”
A high-tier defensive enhancement spell, also a mandatory course, and similarly difficult to imbue with the Shining prefix.
The sword spirit spared no effort in casting the strongest support skills she could currently use on Yvette.
“Shining · Strength Resonance”
“Shining · Fountain of Life”
Colorful halos stacked layer upon layer, transforming into specks of light that flowed into Yvette’s body.
Yvette’s stats swelled at an unimaginable rate.
“Want to give it a try?”
“Sure.”
Yvette, gripping the longsword, took the initiative to charge forward.
The twin-headed tiger, intimidated by Yvette’s rapidly rising aura, halted its pounce.
It cautiously eyed this white-haired hamster it had toyed with moments ago, now testing her with a tentative claw swipe.
The blade clashed with the tiger’s claw, producing crisp sounds.
At first, they seemed evenly matched, but after just a few exchanges, the tiger’s sharp claws were hacked to pieces by the blade.
The twin-headed tiger seemed to realize something—there was something wrong with that person, no, that sword, no, both of them! It didn’t dare engage in close combat anymore.
The twin-headed tiger retreated, its two distinct heads taking turns spewing fireballs.
The fireballs roared toward Yvette’s face, only to be sliced apart by the blade she wielded.
Until the fireballs’ heat rose to a level Yvette could no longer withstand.
Yvette chose to dodge, abandoning her earlier stance of tanking the attacks.
Sidestepping, rolling, leaping… she used every trick in the book.
These were combat methods Yvette had never considered before, but now they flooded her mind like a gushing spring.
“It’s Sword Mastery LV8, shared with you the moment you held me.”
“…”
“So~ shall we continue?”
“Sure.”
Yvette nodded, entering a strange state.
The twin-headed tiger’s movements seemed to slow down before her eyes, allowing her to clearly see every detail of its attacks.
“Flow state?”
Eleanor marveled inwardly.
If this was indeed the flow state, this girl’s talent was somewhat terrifying.
At least, Eleanor’s fragmented memories told her that very few people could enter the flow state.
And indeed, that was the case.
Yvette pressed forward again, dodging the twin-headed tiger’s attacks with the finesse of a swordsman with LV8 mastery.
She slipped to its side and slashed at its forelimb with force.
“Break!”
With a fierce shout, the silver blade struck the twin-headed tiger’s right arm, blood spraying and exposing stark white bone.
This slash didn’t sever the bone, and unfortunately, her blade got stuck in it.
Despite the immense pain, the twin-headed tiger didn’t wail.
Instead, two electric orbs shot out from its mouths in quick succession.
Its instincts told it that if it had wailed instead of attacking, that blade would have pierced its heart in that fleeting moment.
“Roar!”
The electric orbs shot toward Yvette, who was momentarily stunned as her blade remained lodged in the bone.
Her swordsmanship was indeed LV8, but her strength and speed were not.
Despite the top-tier enhancements granted by Miss Eleanor, her LV3 foundation was still a limiting factor.
As a result, the twin-headed tiger’s forelimb was only half-severed, trapping the blade in the middle.
Her strength was, after all, too low.
Yvette froze, but Eleanor did not.
It wasn’t easy for someone to draw her out, especially such an adorable girl. If she died right in front of her, Eleanor would be overwhelmed with guilt.
“Grant me a shield that blocks all!”
A golden light flared from Eleanor’s blade, and a sturdy black-purple shield materialized in front of Yvette.
The electric orbs collided with the shield and dissipated instantly.
Eleanor spoke up.
“What are you spacing out for? If you want to keep fighting with me, pull the sword out and keep going!”
Her soft, loli voice carried a hint of irritation.
“Swordmaster.
You.”
But Yvette’s focus wasn’t on that.
Instead, she asked, “Will you really be willing to keep fighting with me afterward?” Her emotions were tinged with dejection. Eleanor was an incredibly powerful sword, with absurd LV8 stats across all classes, even capable of sharing them with her. Would such an extraordinary sword really choose to stay with a lowly slave girl like her?
She felt a bit greedy.
“What are you thinking about, you idiot! Pick me up properly and chop that thing down! If you perform well, I might consider sticking with you!”
“Okay.”
Yvette shook her head, casting aside her bitter emotions.
Indeed, one shouldn’t lose focus in battle—it was a basic tenet for any swordsman, regardless of rank.
Yvette felt a bit ashamed, but the twin-headed tiger clearly wasn’t giving her time to dwell.
The twin-headed tiger moved again.
Perhaps due to the failure of its electric orb attack, it opted for close combat once more.
Its claws came down, and Yvette raised her sword to block.
She couldn’t hold out for long, but the twin-headed tiger was clearly in worse shape.
Yvette keenly noticed this and adopted a more agile combat strategy—she would drag this out and wear the beast down.
But… the tides of battle shifted.
Just like a video game boss unleashing a screen-wide ultimate move when its health drops to 20%, the twin-headed tiger, a sixth-tier magical beast, evidently possessed such a skill.
Even at great cost, it had no choice but to unleash it now.
Yvette was swatted several meters away by the claw, but she stabbed her blade into the ground to stabilize herself.
Then she saw the twin-headed tiger, heads raised, seemingly preparing a massive ultimate move.
The twin-headed tiger was smiling, a hint of human-like mockery in its eyes.
But the girl’s next move stunned the beast.
Instead of retreating, Yvette advanced.
Rather than dodging or defending against this unknown, wide-ranging “ultimate move,”
Yvette wanted to seize this moment of preparation to slay it.
Using the momentum from pushing off the ground, Yvette darted to the twin-headed tiger’s chest, thrusting her blade fiercely into its heart.
The sword pierced through its chest, ran through its heart, and sliced down to its abdomen, splitting its entire torso open, spilling its entrails onto the ground.
The twin-headed tiger froze.
Normally, when a boss unleashes its ultimate move, don’t players choose to dodge or defend?
How could someone take advantage of a boss’s ultimate to strike at its vital point?
The twin-headed tiger couldn’t comprehend it, and so, it died.
Its massive body collapsed with a thud, its wide-open eyes filled with disbelief.
The battle was over.
But it wasn’t entirely safe yet.
A delicate magical array formed beside the fallen “tiger tail.”
And then~~~
“Crackle! Pop!”
A burst of fireworks-like explosions rang out, and the air began to fill with the aroma of roasted meat.
The battle, at this moment, truly came to an end.
