Beneath the night sky, Luo Xiya wandered through the empty manor grounds, her delicate face appearing and disappearing in the moonlight, shadowed by a somber expression.
She raised her right hand.
The silver-white chain on her wrist had lost its former luster.
Even under the moonlight’s reflection, it remained dull and lifeless.
The Transcendent Relic, “Linge,” was originally a sacred artifact of the Moon Elves, with the power to purify all darkness and corruption.
This was the true reason Luo Xiya had gone to the auction.
Her Sacred Seal could at most prolong Catherine’s life, but only a relic of sacred-domain caliber could truly eradicate the long-entrenched toxin within Catherine’s body.
However, the moment she obtained Linge, Luo Xiya had clearly sensed that the magic within the chain had mostly dissipated.
That meant its uses were extremely limited—and so was its effectiveness.
As expected, even after she used her Sacred Seal to push Catherine’s physical state to its optimal peak, Linge’s purifying power still couldn’t fully eliminate the deeply rooted poison.
The exhaustion she felt wasn’t just physical—it was emotional, mental.
Pushing open her door, Luo Xiya returned to her room and immediately reached behind her to undo the thin ribbon.
The black evening gown slipped to the floor.
Her smooth, delicate skin was instantly exposed to the air.
Right now, she only wanted to throw herself into bed and get a good night’s sleep—anything to stop thinking about these burdens.
Pulling back the blanket, Luo Xiya climbed into bed and pulled the covers over herself, ready to pass out.
One second, two seconds, three…
Her eyes suddenly flew open. Luo Xiya reached into the blanket and tugged at the soft thing in her arms.
What she felt was silky hair.
By the moonlight, she saw Roman’s sleeping face—peaceful, holy.
What the hell…
Whatever drowsiness she had vanished almost entirely.
Breathing in the gentle fragrance from his body, feeling a sensation more comforting than any pillow, Luo Xiya didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
It didn’t take much to guess this was Elise’s doing.
None of the other maids would dare.
Hmph…
Mentally snorting that she’d be giving Elise a little punishment tomorrow, she silently wrapped her arms around Roman and closed her eyes comfortably.
He really is so soft…
Luo Xiya thought, feeling her whole body become light.
The weight of exhaustion transformed into gentle sleepiness.
As a child, her favorite thing was to sleep holding Elise.
Her mother had always been busy and rarely had time for her, so she’d clung to the young maid beside her instead.
It wasn’t until she’d grown older that she broke the habit.
Now, sleeping while holding Roman had dispelled much of the negative emotions festering inside her.
Slowly, the two of them drifted together into a sweet dream.
The next morning, it was Roman who woke her up.
“Don’t move…”
Luo Xiya furrowed her beautiful brows and pulled the squirming Roman tightly into her arms, refusing to let him escape.
Roman had woken up early in the morning, groggy and half-asleep.
At first, he thought he was sleeping in a bed of cotton—soft, warm, fluffy, and sweet.
Then he opened his eyes and saw Luo Xiya right in front of him.
Her warm breath brushed gently against his face, and her long black hair shimmered with a silvery gloss in the sunlight, intertwining with his silver strands until they were indistinguishable.
What was worse… Luo Xiya was wearing nothing but her bra and panties.
At some point, both of her long legs had wrapped themselves around his body.
The way she hugged him was just like those otaku guys cuddling their waifu pillows.
Feeling uncomfortable, Roman tried to wriggle away—only to be held even tighter.
Luo Xiya, stirred by the movement, opened her eyes and looked at him with displeasure.
“What are you resisting?” she asked.
Roman closed his eyes gently, his lashes fluttering, refusing to answer.
Tch…
The remnants of Luo Xiya’s negative emotions from the night before had now transformed into a bodily craving.
It was early morning, and her energy was high—suddenly, she wanted to do something else entirely.
“You crawled into my bed yourself. If you’re craving something, just say it. What’s the point of pretending to be reserved?” she whispered by his ear, then stuck out her fragrant tongue and gave his earlobe a light lick.
“I didn’t even know what happened last night…”
“And yet, here you are. When I came back to my room last night, you were already lying in my bed—warmed it up for me, too. So tell me, how should I reward you?”
Luo Xiya pressed Roman’s cheek and leaned in to plant a kiss on his face.
Her hands weren’t behaving either, reaching behind his neck to search for the thin ribbon that held his gown together.
Amusingly, both of them were technically virgins.
No matter how bold Luo Xiya sounded, her hands were clumsy and awkward.
After fumbling for quite some time, she still hadn’t made any progress.
Moreover, she seemed to be holding back in some way—perhaps out of principle.
She never stole Roman’s first kiss, only trailing kisses from his forehead to his neck.
When she reached the white flower on his right eye, Luo Xiya paused.
Her lips gently brushed across its petals, and Roman couldn’t help but wrap his arms around her, trembling softly against her neck.
So that’s it…
Lightly patting Roman’s trembling back, Luo Xiya finally found that pesky ribbon.
With a soft tug, she effortlessly loosened his gown.
A mischievous thought sparked in her heart.
Curling a finger at him, she motioned for Roman to come closer.
Climbing out from under the blanket, Luo Xiya pointed to the bra on her body and said, “Since you’re next to me today, come help me get dressed.”
Roman followed her gesture and opened the wardrobe, staring blankly at the dazzling array of clothes inside, unsure of what to choose.
“Any color is fine. Hurry up,”
Luo Xiya’s lazy voice called from behind.
In the end, Roman, blushing furiously, closed his eyes and randomly picked a set.
Purple lace trim—and the kind that used thin strings for support.
“Didn’t expect you to go for this kind of style…”
Luo Xiya teased with a grin as she sat on the bed, but she didn’t take the lingerie from his hands.
Instead, she reached behind her and, with a simple motion, unfastened the bra she’d worn to sleep.
Her pale, perky breasts bounced free.
Compared to Elise’s, Luo Xiya’s were clearly a bit smaller, but firmer in shape.
Apparently, in Luo Xiya’s world, this kind of thing wasn’t something to be embarrassed about.
She signaled for Roman to help her dress.
Standing behind her, Roman draped the purple lace bra over those snowy breasts and, hands trembling, began to tie the delicate strings—sweat beading on his forehead.
Once he was finished, Luo Xiya hooked a finger under the purple panties and gave him a meaningful look.
She patted the bed and offered a ‘kind’ suggestion, “If you’re really too embarrassed, you can get under the covers and help me put these on. I don’t mind.”
