Chapter 7: Do You Even Know the Rules?

Li Xian had no idea why he had come to this world.

The body he now inhabited wasn’t even his own.

But there was one thing he was certain of.

Even though he could clearly feel more than one seal within his body, based on what he had learned over the past few days, he still possessed power strong enough to crush even the peak-level experts of the human race.

He let out a sigh and reached out to gently wipe away the tears on her face.

“Don’t cry.”

But Sara flinched away from his hand, biting her lip hard.

“Mr. Li Xian, it’s all my fault. I’m sorry… Maybe I should’ve never tried to escape. If I had just obediently gone to my death, none of those people would’ve had to suffer…”

The painful words left her mouth one by one.

Through her eyes, Li Xian could see her doubt—her doubt in him, her confusion about this world.

“Mr. Li Xian, if there’s a next life… I’ll be your servant, your slave, anything you want. I’ll make up for all the mistakes I made… I’m really, really sorry…”

Li Xian couldn’t help but smile bitterly.

He reached out and gently patted her head.

“Then you better keep your word. But I don’t like the idea of ‘next life.’ I don’t have the patience to wait that long. I want you—this life, this world, for the rest of our days. How about that?”

Honestly, this was the perfect time to raise her favorability.

“E-Eh?” Sure enough, Sara froze at his words.

She looked up at him, her cheeks slightly flushed.

But the color quickly drained from her face.

Because in her line of sight, the scar-faced transcendent warrior was already charging toward them, sword in hand, killing intent blazing in his eyes.

“Mr. Li Xian, look out!” she cried, her pupils contracting in terror.

But it was already too late.

With the transcendent-level warrior’s speed, the short distance between them would be covered in less than a second.

The bloodstained blade was already descending, aimed straight for the back of Li Xian’s head—about to slice him cleanly in half from top to bottom.

Just imagining that exhilarating moment made the man known as the Savage Blade tremble with excitement.

He could already see it—the blood of that arrogant brat splattering all over Sara’s body.

He imagined the look on the daughter of his sworn enemy as she watched her last hope get sliced open before her eyes, tortured to death in a haze of overwhelming fear and despair.

He hated these self-righteous punks the most.

And he never missed a chance to kill an enemy.

Even if the target seemed like a lowly novice warrior, he would seize the perfect opportunity and strike with ruthless, merciless force.

That was the origin of his nickname—Savage Blade.

He had no regard for life, only cruelty and brutality.

But just as that vicious grin twisted his scarred face, just as fear widened Sara’s pale eyes, the boy in front of them still wore a gentle smile.

His eyes were full of comfort and pity as he looked at her.

One hand rested softly on her head, gently stroking her hair.

The other hand—no one had noticed it had moved behind his back—was now effortlessly pinching the incoming blade between two fingers.

Silence.

The entire forest fell into dead silence.

Only Sara’s disbelieving gaze and the scarred man’s look of horror could explain what had just happened.

The man gritted his teeth and pushed down harder on the blade, but it was no use.

No matter how much strength he used, he couldn’t make those seemingly fragile fingers budge—not even a millimeter.

He couldn’t even pull the sword back.

Cold sweat broke out across his back.

A fear far stronger than what he had felt when facing the Afra couple wrapped around his heart like a death shroud.

“Hey, listen,” Li Xian finally turned his head and looked at the man’s ugly face, his expression shifting into one of open disgust.

“Don’t you know anything about proper timing? When the protagonist’s flirting with the girl, you’re supposed to log off or something. If you jump in, don’t blame me when you get written out of the script and sent to pick up your funeral box…”

He scoffed.

“And with a face like that? Should’ve never taken off the mask to begin with. Now get lost!”

He kicked the scarred man, sending him flying through the air until he crashed hard against a tree.

Without even looking, Li Xian casually tossed the blade after him.

It landed with a thunk, embedding itself into the ground just two or three centimeters from the man’s most vital area.

The scarred man’s mouth filled with blood as he stared blankly at the thin blade lodged so close to his crotch.

Beyond it, Li Xian had already turned around again.

He reached out and gently pinched Sara’s cheek, her face still frozen in wide-eyed shock.

“Ehehe… I knew it. Dumb, sweet, rich, and cute… just my type.”
