Setting aside unnecessary thoughts, Lin Mo cautiously surveyed their surroundings and led the group toward Building A of the teaching complex.
“Wait…”
Suddenly, his footsteps halted.
In the distance came the piercing screams of girls, interspersed with cries of agony and the familiar growls of zombies.
And the direction of those sounds… seemed to be precisely Building A!
The group exchanged uneasy glances.
Though apprehension gnawed at them, they had come this far—they had to see for themselves, or they’d never rest easy.
After advancing a short distance, Building A loomed before them, the chaotic noises growing increasingly distinct.
Peering through the dense grove of trees toward the teaching building, Lin Mo nearly gasped aloud—over a dozen zombies had gathered at the entrance.
“This…”
Lin Mo pondered.
Why had these zombies clustered together?
Did zombies even coordinate like this?
The undead were charging toward the building’s entrance, where a group of students—mostly male-stood guard.
Armed with makeshift weapons like mops, brooms, and even chairs, their numbers lent them an imposing presence.
They held the entrance against the zombie onslaught, managing to repel the creatures and even kill several.
Yet the horde was relentless, and screams periodically erupted as defenders fell victim to attacks.
This survivor stronghold was impressive-organized enough to mount a defense against the undead!
Lin Mo’s eyes gleamed.
Among these survivors, there had to be at least one capable leader.
This was exactly the kind of group worth joining!
Without hesitation, Lin Mo saw the zombie horde as an opportunity.
His experience bar now read 3/10-just seven more kills until his next level-up and power boost.
Wordlessly, he charged into the fray, cleaving through one zombie’s skull with a single strike.
“Swish-!”
The blade split the creature’s head clean in half, ensuring its demise.
Lin Mo didn’t pause, immediately pivoting to decapitate another zombie.
Two more experience points registered as the corpse collapsed.
Onward!
Like harvesting cabbages, Lin Mo mowed through the undead with terrifying efficiency, leaving the defenders at the entrance gaping in awe.
“Where did this beast come from? This is insane!”
“He doesn’t even look that strong-more like some pretty-boy with a skinny frame…” mused a burly man, scratching his head.
“Yet he’s clearly better than you!” retorted a petite girl who barely reached five feet, her adorable appearance belying her sharp tongue.
Despite their banter, the defenders fought fiercely—particularly the muscular man and the tiny girl, who dispatched zombies with ruthless precision.
Within moments, the area before Building A was cleared, leaving only reeking corpses behind.
A cleanup crew promptly began removing the remains.
“Hey, you…”
After the battle ended, the short girl wiped the sweat from her forehead, ignoring the blood all over her, and ran straight up to Lin Mo.
“What’s your name?”
“Me?”
Lin Mo wasn’t used to being approached by girls and was momentarily stunned before answering somewhat awkwardly, “I’m Lin Mo.”
“Lin Mo?”
The little girl frowned.
She didn’t recall anyone by that name in her memory.
But how could someone this skilled have remained completely unknown until now?
