Time at the pool passed quickly.
It was just a repetition of bouncing a ball back and forth, splashing water, and drinking beverages, yet Amon had never realized how much fun it could be.
Splash!
“You little…!”
Sonia shoved Amon, causing him to fall into the pool.
However, with just one jump, he was back on the ground.
Then, he lifted Sonia up and jumped back into the pool together.
Boom!
A huge splash erupted as the two of them plunged into the water.
As Amon surfaced, Sonia jumped on him from behind, pulling him back into the water.
The two of them emerged again, laughing brightly.
Though they had been embarrassed to even look at each other’s faces when they first arrived at the pool, after splashing around a few times, they no longer minded the physical contact.
Like friends always do, they played harmless pranks on each other.
“Hoho. How about you enjoy this while you’re at it?”
As the two were having a blast, the priest with squinted eyes approached them, offering drinks.
Since they were thirsty, they didn’t refuse.
As she refreshed her throat with the crisp taste of lemonade, Sonia turned to the priest.
“I feel so bad. It’s just us having fun.”
“It’s fine. When would I ever get to come to a place like this? Thanks to Sister’s support funds, I’m just using the excuse of being a guardian.”
Sonia could only give a bitter smile at the priest’s words.
When she first heard that the priest was tagging along on her trip with Amon, she saw him as nothing more than an obstacle.
She thought he would steal away the time she could spend alone with Amon and, if there were any inappropriate contact between them, he’d lecture her about church doctrine to stop it.
But once they arrived, it turned out to be completely different.
The priest had an incredibly open mind.
Whatever Sonia did with Amon, he never interfered.
He simply watched over them from a distance, admiring the scenery like a guardian.
He was, in every sense, their benefactor.
He provided the funds and didn’t meddle in anything else, making him an unexpectedly pleasant presence.
In fact, from time to time, he even brought them drinks or introduced them to various services available.
Rather than a guardian, he was more like a tour guide.
Sonia felt quite apologetic for having initially thought of him as a nuisance.
On the other hand, Amon was indifferent to the priest.
His focus was on his female friend, who was sipping her drink.
A few minutes ago, he had been too shocked to gather his thoughts, but now that he had calmed down, he began to reflect on his feelings.
‘If it’s not just my imagination, the emotion I felt when I first saw Sonia in her swimsuit was not lust, but excitement.’
The moment he saw her, he felt genuinely warm inside.
In this rotten world, a world where you can’t trust anyone…
He truly wanted to be with her.
Immediately after, Amon’s body responded with a rush of blood, his lower half stirred, and his heart pounded painfully.
Naturally, Amon was confused.
‘Could I… really be in love with Sonia?’
Love was truly a difficult emotion.
It had no clear cause, no set pattern, and no principle that could explain it.
Amon was no exception.
What had started as a normal day with his female friend suddenly changed when she showed a side of herself that wasn’t so ordinary, causing his heart to race.
At first glance, one might think this was love, but Amon didn’t see it that way.
He couldn’t help but be cautious.
Love in a peaceful world and love in a world where you constantly live on edge, not knowing when you might die, had entirely different meanings.
In this world, love carried a much heavier weight.
In a world where no one could be trusted, you had to trust the other person, and entrust them with your weaknesses.
It was an act of creating one more vulnerability for yourself.
Even more painful than the fact that you had to reveal your weakness was the realization that the other person would become your weakness.
This garbage world didn’t care about morals—it used any means necessary.
That’s why Amon hesitated to acknowledge the emotion called love.
Could Amon truly love Sonia?
More than that, could he bear the burden of carrying her as his weakness?
But his dilemma didn’t last long.
As he was returning from the restroom, the moment he saw Gold Sun bothering Sonia, fury erupted within him.
‘Ah, it’s already too late.’
His heart had no intention of letting Sonia go.
If this wasn’t love, then what could it be?
There was no longer any hesitation in Amon’s steps.
Just as Sonia had done for him, Amon approached her.
Wrapping his arm around her waist, he said, “Sweetheart, did you wait for me?”
Amon had already made up his mind—he wasn’t going to let her go.
‘Huh?!’
Caught off guard by Amon suddenly grabbing her waist, Sonia almost let out a moan.
Thanks to her quick reflexes, she managed to swallow it, but she couldn’t stop the small hiccup that escaped.
Through the latex swimsuit, which was much thinner than her usual fabric clothes, she could feel Amon’s fingers around her waist.
It was the first time she had felt his fingers on her waist like this.
And that wasn’t all.
As he pulled her closer, his body heat transferred directly to hers.
Amon hugged her so tightly that it could have been painful if it weren’t so comforting.
Sonia didn’t resist.
She leaned into his shoulder, enjoying the firmness of his muscles.
And then, she shot a scornful look at Gold Sun, who had been hitting on her just moments before.
The look said it all: ‘I already have someone, so back off.’
But unlike the women who had previously flirted with Amon, Gold Sun’s attitude was a little different.
He acted as if he had something to rely on, continuing to throw glances their way with a cocky smile.
“Why are you playing hard to get? Oh, right. Your friend over there is pretty decent, too. How about we all have a little fun together?”
He pointed at the women he had brought along, making a vulgar gesture with his fingers.
Amon’s disgust doubled.
As revolting as it was, he knew he couldn’t resort to violence.
With a voice dripping with obvious displeasure, but keeping his words polite, Amon rejected the offer.
“Sorry, we’re not interested.”
But Gold Sun wasn’t the type to give up easily.
Whatever Amon’s answer sounded like to him, Gold Sun let out a laugh.
“Kid, you must not know who I am.”
His pupils expanded with a mechanical sound.
Scanning Amon’s body, he realized there had been no modifications done and a smirk crept across his face.
He couldn’t help but laugh at Amon’s relatively weak body.
‘Is this guy seriously trying to act tough in front of a woman? Does he really think he can protect an S-rank girl with that kind of body?’
While mocking Amon inwardly, Gold Sun introduced himself.
“I’m a Gold-rank adventurer, kid. Do you even know what that means?”
Gold Sun’s arrogance only grew as he introduced himself.
‘Well, little guy, do you get it now?’
He stared down at Amon with a haughty expression.
But Amon and Sonia’s reactions were far from what he expected.
“So what?”
“Oh, we don’t care. Move along.”
They didn’t care in the slightest.
In fact, Gold Sun revealing himself as a Gold-rank adventurer only made Amon feel relieved.
If he had been the son of a corporate chairman or a gang leader, that would be different.
But an adventurer? That’s a job with no real backing.
And calling himself an adventurer was just a fancier way of saying he was a mercenary.
‘What a joke.’
Adventurers didn’t have anything to their name except their own money, lawyers, and bodies.
There was no reason for Amon to be afraid of someone who couldn’t pull strings over a petty poolside quarrel.
Clearly unsatisfied with their lack of reaction, Gold Sun raised his hand to target Amon’s shoulder.
He figured that with Amon’s fragile physique, just pressing lightly on his shoulder would be enough to dislocate it.
It was a good way to teach him a lesson without spilling blood in the pool.
But before his hand could reach Amon’s shoulder, reinforcements arrived.
“Is there a problem, young master?”
The squinting priest approached them with a gentle smile.
It was hard to tell when he was wearing his priest robes, but the priest had quite an imposing build.
If he claimed he performed exorcisms by cracking open demon skulls, anyone would believe him.
Gold Sun’s mechanical eyes scanned the priest’s body.
Most of it was human, but his left arm was unreadable.
Not because it was unmodified—but because it was unscannable.
Perhaps it was due to the atmosphere simulating summer weather, but sweat began to roll down Gold Sun’s spine.
‘Shit. He’s from a special forces unit?’
Equipment that couldn’t be scanned was typically high-end military gear, used by secretive units.
They were usually the type of monsters that once fought, could rip out your spine and put it on display without anyone knowing.
And someone like that was calling Amon “young master”?
Gold Sun shifted his eyes toward Amon.
Amon, noticing the change, played along with the priest’s act.
“This person kept offering me some… troubling suggestions.”
“Hmm…”
The priest rubbed his chin, eyeing Gold Sun up and down.
It was clear to everyone that he was calculating how best to deal with him.
Even mercenaries didn’t want to die meaninglessly.
Gold Sun immediately lowered his stance and pleaded with Amon.
“I’m sorry! I didn’t know what I was doing. Please, just spare me!”
“Did I say anything?”
“No, you didn’t. Yes, yes, I was just spouting nonsense.”
Exhausted from the entire encounter, Amon waved him off, signaling for him to leave.
Gold Sun, with no objections, quickly retreated.
He fled to the farthest corner of the pool, and the priest muttered as he watched him go.
“Mercenaries… they really are savage.”
Certain that Amon and Sonia would end up in the Vatican, he spoke with complete confidence.
And for once, Amon agreed wholeheartedly.
“People scraping by in dungeons are all like that.”
As they said, adventurers were just mercenaries who ventured into dungeons—collapsed corporations that had fallen victim to their own dangerous experiments.
Experiments like biological weapons going out of control, magic studies gone wrong, or energy entities escaping and destroying their facilities.
When these companies failed overnight, there was no one left to hold accountable as the staff had all become victims.
So instead of demolishing the dangerous buildings, the government sealed them off, letting new ecosystems form inside.
This vicious cycle created a new kind of dungeon—a place with no productivity that only lowered property values.
And despite being troublesome, dungeons had demand, which is where the mercenaries came in.
Amon and Gold Sun’s scuffle was just a part of this larger system.
Sonia, still nestled in Amon’s arms, blushed as the sun began to set.
Instead of taking her back to the pool, Amon suggested the place the priest had mentioned.
“Shall we go back to our room?”
“…Yeah.”
Sonia shyly nodded.
Amon and Sonia had no particular feelings about sharing the same room.
At least, that’s what they thought until about eight hours ago.
But ever since Amon became aware of his feelings for Sonia, he could no longer see her in the same light.
‘Why does this hotel have a shower visible from the bedroom?!’
Technically, it was frosted glass, but that only made his imagination run wild.
Shhh
Sigh
Splash, splash
Whoever designed this shower had clearly not bothered with soundproofing.
‘Whoever you are, thanks a lot, you bastard…’
The rented swimsuits, the double room layout, the shower’s design—everything about this resort seemed to have been designed by some kind of perverted genius.
Amon tried to distract himself by mentally reciting sutras, desperately avoiding looking at the silhouette in the shower.
But his nature kept betraying him, and his gaze kept drifting back to Sonia’s figure behind the glass.
The frosted glass provided endless fuel for his imagination.
As she tilted her head back, letting the water run through her hair, her full breasts formed beautiful curves that demanded attention.
When she began washing her body, every movement caused her soft flesh to jiggle.
Amon’s gaze followed her hands as they started from her neck, moving down to her waist and over her hips.
When she bent over to wash her legs and calves, her backside was emphasized.
Amon’s eyes strayed from her hands, admiring the beautiful curve of her waist and hips.
Her round breasts, now hanging slightly due to gravity, remained the center of his attention.
But this blissful moment came to an end as she straightened her back.
Before he could even feel disappointed, her hands moved to the highlight of the show.
Raising one arm, she began washing her armpits.
Because her chest was so large, she had to support her breasts from below as she cleaned.
Amon could faintly see her breasts squishing under her arm.
“Hmm~♪”
She hummed while repeating the same motion for the other side.
When she finished with her armpits, her hand moved to a more intimate area.
Supporting her chest with one hand, she began cleaning beneath her breasts.
The shadow of her chest shifted with her movements—squashing, bouncing, and spreading apart with every touch.
Amon’s gaze was thoroughly captivated.
Finally, her hand moved toward her most private area—between her thighs.
Amon barely managed to stop himself from thinking any further, forcing his gaze away.
Soon after, Sonia finished her shower, marking the end of Amon’s “happy time.”
Once Sonia was done, Amon took his turn in the shower.
Just as Amon had admired her silhouette, Sonia indulged in watching his figure behind the frosted glass.
After their showers, the two of them sat on the edge of the queen-sized bed, facing each other.
Freshly showered and dry, they sat close, both silent as they took in each other’s presence.
Their bathrobes had parted slightly, revealing glimpses of each other’s chests.
Their pale skin was a devastating blow to one another.
With both of their faces turning as red as tomatoes, neither could turn away, even though they remained silent.
Their hearts fluttered, they felt shy, dizzy…
Normally, such sensations wouldn’t be pleasant, but in this moment, they were.
After a few minutes of silent staring, Amon broke the awkward tension.
“Sonia.”
“Yeah?”
“I’ve been thinking.”
Amon’s confession came out of nowhere.
Until this morning, he had thought of Sonia as just a friend.
But when he saw Gold Sun hitting on her, he realized he couldn’t let her go.
And he knew that he could trust her with his life.
“I’ve been thinking. Maybe I was just attracted to your looks. But that’s not it. I realized that I like you, Sonia, as a person.”
Throughout the time they spent together at the pool, Amon’s heart hadn’t been swayed by any of the other beautiful women around.
In this place filled with influencers and models showing off their bodies in skimpy swimsuits, his gaze hadn’t wandered to anyone else.
That was when he knew for sure.
He liked Sonia as a person.
“Let me make it clear. I love your pretty face. Your voice is lovely too. Your warm hands…”
Amon’s words stumbled as he tried to find the right expression.
“I love the way you’re usually bright and cheerful, but sometimes you show a cold side—it’s charming. I love how you always believe in me, how you trust me, everything about you.”
He paused for a moment to catch his breath before continuing.
“But more than anything else, I love the fact that I can trust you… that you…”
Huff
Amon took a deep breath.
Just as he was about to say the final word, Sonia interrupted him.
“I love you.”
With those words, Sonia leaned closer to him.
Their breaths mingled in the small space between them.
Before Amon could even process what was happening, Sonia demonstrated her full knowledge.
‘Wait… her tongue…’
Amon’s thoughts stopped altogether.
Instead, he focused on the moment, determined never to forget it.
His first kiss was something that would forever be etched deep in his soul.
