Thud.
Chang Hansui’s mouse slipped an inch from his hand, and his mouth fell slightly open.
Good grief, what had her fans devolved into?
It annoyed Chang Hansui so much that he posted directly.
[What ‘big sister’? She’s definitely some scheming snake.]
‘Hmph, let’s check out her friend “Sunflower”‘s section instead.’
‘Whoa…’
Now this matched his stereotypes.
Half the posts were pent-up venting, and the other half were relatively normal support threads.
Like fans pooling money to buy prime-time LED screens at the busiest downtown intersection, looping a high-octane battle montage of Sunflower swinging her giant scythe all day.
Or buying Sunflower merchandise and arranging it into altars.
Alright, at least this forum looked decent.
He closed Sunflower’s board and switched back to Mizuki Hana’s forum, ready to see if anyone had taken the bait he’d cast.
Sure enough, those rabid female fans had been completely ignited by his lighthearted remark.
The private message red dot in the bottom right was blinking like an alarm, and the comment section had exploded.
[AHHHHHHHHH! How could you say that about Lady Hana! Lady Hana is absolutely not that kind of person!]
[Who do you think you are, coming here to run your mouth?]
‘That got a laugh out of me.’
Classic opening taunt.
Jia Xin: [Honestly not as good as Sunflower… looks-wise.]
[What the heck! You’re a hater sent from the other side, aren’t you!]
Jia Xin: [Follow Sunflower, thanks meow. Way better than that woman who likes to act cool while secretly doing shady stuff.]
[You! You better have proof! Lady Hana’s swordsmanship is so gorgeous, do you even understand beauty and elegance!]
Chang Hansui casually searched for Mizuki Hana’s battle videos and started critiquing.
Jia Xin: [Also, sure, it’s a bit elegant, but is she trying to give monsters a light massage with that Western sword?]
[What do you know! That’s the art of thrusting! If you don’t get it, don’t run your mouth!]
Jia Xin: [Art? That scraping is way too slow. Even the scrubbers at a northeastern bathhouse have more strength than this Mizuki Hana, right? What a legend, this is basically a cheerleader, isn’t it? Waving a silver sword around and dancing on the side, then shouting “666” while relying entirely on teammates for damage. That’s what you call elegant? I’m dying of laughter, that’s hilarious.]
The comment section fell into dead silence, then erupted into even fiercer abuse.
Exclamation marks flooded the screen so thick they nearly overflowed.
But Chang Hansui didn’t stop.
His eyes were locked on that “elegant” figure on the screen, channeling all the frustration buried in his heart into words.
Jia Xin: [By that logic, I could do it too, honestly. While the magical girl fights monsters, I just wiggle around and dance on the side, and I’m done. Elegant? Elegant my ass. Someone who looks so proper on the surface is definitely full of schemes underneath. What a mess. Might as well stop calling her Mizuki Hana and rename her “Silver Sword Cheerleader Scrubber” instead.]
The instant she pressed Enter, the “ding-dong ding-dong” of private message notifications came crashing down like a sudden summer downpour.
Chang Hansui didn’t bother opening those frantically blinking red icons.
He let go of the mouse, and his whole body seemed to go limp as he leaned back into the plush gaming chair, letting out a long sigh.
‘Man, cyberbullying.’
Chang Hansui decided that next time he needed to vent stress, he’d come here too.
‘It’s not like anyone can ban my account. I’m the one with admin powers.’
Alright, after roasting them a bit, Chang Hansui felt satisfied, and his pent-up mood had been released.
“A-Sui, you’re out here starting flame wars and fishing for reactions again.”
A soft, slightly helpless voice rang out in the quiet room without warning.
Chang Hansui’s whole body stiffened, and he bolted upright.
“Who? Who are you?!”
He turned his head and saw, by the desk lamp on the edge of the computer desk, a round, chibi-style blue-white sheep creature floating in midair.
It blinked its big eyes at him.
“You’ve been fishing on the forums every day lately. Even the Magical Girl Association can’t stand it anymore.”
The blue-white creature let out a soft, plaintive sigh.
Cold sweat instantly broke out on Chang Hansui.
He quickly looked away, guiltily staring out the window.
“I-I-I-I… I didn’t do anything. I’m just a senior civil engineering student stuck at home waiting for a job, okay? You’ve got the wrong person.”
“But… your screen is still on.”
The blue-white creature extended its short, adorable little paw and pointed at the monitor, which was still on the Mizuki Hana board.
Chang Hansui, panicked, scrambled to grab the mouse, clicked around frantically, and switched back to that volunteer-recommendation teacher’s livestream from earlier.
“You can’t out-eat me, believe it or not! Come on! Assistant, give me ten Qiaolezi ice cream bars!”
The streamer’s loud, aggressive voice instantly filled the room, trying to ease the awkwardness.
Chang Hansui cleared his throat, forced himself to calm down, and sized up the creature before him with a complicated look.
“So? What are you?”
“As the actual administrator of the biggest magical girl forum by traffic right now, the mix of true and false info on your forum has always given the Association a headache.”
The blue-white creature spun around in the air and explained slowly.
“However, when the Magical Girl Association tried to use its authority to investigate the domain owner, it found that the registrant wasn’t you.”
Chang Hansui remembered now.
His server had been expanded as user numbers grew, and the server itself was in his hands now.
But the domain was bought for ten years by his good buddy back then.
Since it was a hassle, they never transferred it to his account.
At most, when switching servers, he’d asked her to change the IP resolution.
Thinking about it that way, didn’t that mean he dodged a bullet?
The doxxing weapon had struck with precision—but it hit the former forum admin instead!
The blue-white creature nodded.
“Fortunately, the domain owner turned out to be a retired former magical girl. She now works in the Magical Girl Association’s logistics department. We asked her for your contact info, and that’s how we tracked you down.”
Chang Hansui’s pupils shook violently, ‘Wait.’
The good buddy who stayed up late with him playing games, obsessed with katanas, and constantly dropping f-bombs… was not only a woman, but also a retired magical girl?!
“What? Don’t tell me you’re planning to rob me outright?”
“Hmm… Actually, your problem is neither big nor small. I just want to invite you to become a magical girl.”
“What?!”
At that moment, the streamer’s abrupt, arrogant laughter came through the speakers: “Hahahaha! So what if you’re a 985 music major? You can’t out-eat me, believe it or not!”
The air in the room froze for a few seconds.
Alright, let’s set aside whether he could out-eat anyone.
Chang Hansui swallowed hard and pointed at his own flat chest and clearly visible Adam’s apple.
“Wait… can guys even become magical girls? If they could, it’d probably be heavily advertised everywhere.”
The blue-white creature tilted its head slightly.
“Theoretically, no. However, you seem to be a special exception.”
