This woman probably isn’t dangerous.
Her combat ability definitely posed a threat… but there was a high chance she wouldn’t hurt him.
The way this woman looked at him was somewhat similar to the kidnapper’s, but she was dumber and more straightforward than the kidnapper, easier to lead around by the nose.
Rina confirmed this judgment and let out a sigh of relief.
Then she raised her head.
Her sky-blue eyes looked at the person from between her silver bangs as she spoke again.
Her voice carried a hint of impatience.
“Hey! Why did you barge in here?”
Qiansui was immersed in the ultimate blissful afterglow of “being stepped on the face by a little girl’s foot while being called a weirdo in a disgusted tone.”
Her entire being was in a soul-leaving-her-body state.
Then the girl’s voice pierced through that pink mist.
“Why?”
Qiansui’s body jolted, and her soul returned to its place.
She quickly pulled back the half-melted infatuated expression on her face, forcefully wiped away the suspicious glistening trail at the corner of her mouth with the back of her hand, and then composed herself.
Though she was still kneeling, her back straightened, her hands rested on her knees, and the obsession in her green eyes was replaced by a serious, earnest light.
“Ahem.”
She cleared her throat.
“Hello, my name is Nanase Chitose. Twenty-three years old. Unmarried.”
Rina blinked.
“I have a car and a house. No car loan or mortgage.”
“I have stable employment income, earning over two hundred thousand a year.”
Qiansui’s voice grew more serious, and her speech faster.
“I don’t smoke, don’t drink, and have no bad habits.”
“My hobby is observing…”
“Stop! Stop stop stop!”
Rina crossed her arms in front of her chest to make a big X, her sky-blue eyes wide round.
What the hell was this?
Who asked you?
Who asked if you had a car, a house, or a loan?
Who asked about your annual income?
Who asked if you were married?
Who cares about your hobbies!
She was furiously venting in her head, but only said the most critical sentence out loud.
“I don’t want to hear anything besides your name and your purpose. If you’re a human who understands, then speak properly!”
Qiansui shut her mouth, and a flash of satisfaction at “being scolded by a little girl” flickered in her eyes, but she quickly suppressed it.
She put on a serious expression, the expression a demon hunter filled with a sense of mission should have.
“Actually, you’ve been kept captive by a vampire. I came here to save you.”
The air was silent for a moment.
Then Rina let out a confused sound from the depths of her soul.
Rina tilted her head, her sky-blue eyes filled with incomprehension.
The kidnapper was a vampire?
Like… one of those fantasy creatures that bites people’s necks, sucks blood, and transforms into a bat and flies away?
“A vampire… you’re saying the kidnapper is a vampire?”
Rina chewed on those two words, then the corner of her mouth twitched.
“Are you trying to fool a kid? Why should I believe a weirdo like you?”
Upon hearing this, Qiansui knew that this little girl who had been abducted into a vampire nest was being blinded by the vampires’ lies, and she had to make her see the truth.
“I’m not lying to you.”
Qiansui’s voice dropped all its unseriousness and became the voice of a demon hunter seriously stating the facts.
“I am a vampire hunter.”
“There have been multiple cases of young girls being abducted recently.”
“During our investigation, we discovered a large number of vampire traces.”
She paused, her green eyes looking straight at the girl.
Rina opened her mouth… preparing to refute, but the other woman beat her to it.
Qiansui looked around the living room, wherever her gaze landed, and then she placed her hand on the three-seater sofa nearby, the one Rina had been lying on eating a sandwich not long ago.
Then she lifted the sofa with one hand.
“Look.”
“A normal person can’t do what I just did.”
Then she gently set the sofa back in place.
Rina stared at the sofa that had been lifted and set down with one hand, then looked down at her own two hands.
She was silent for a long time.
The kidnapper didn’t eat human food.
The kidnapper’s strength was absurdly great.
There were dozens of bottles of thick, dark red liquid with a strong rusty smell in the fridge. Last time she broke a bottle and got the liquid on her finger and smelled it, the rusty smell had made her scalp tingle.
Rina ran through all these clues, then reached a conclusion… “No way, that’s too fantastical.
Reality isn’t a fantasy novel, where would vampires come from?”
Rina was in the middle of denying it and throwing that conclusion into the trash can.
Now that conclusion she’d thrown away was being pulled out of the trash can by a weirdo demon hunter who could lift a sofa with one hand, and slapped right in front of her.
Those bottles contained blood.
The kidnapper only drank blood.
The kidnapper was a vampire.
Vampires really existed in this world.
Rina suddenly raised her head.
So the kidnapper could always find her…
She didn’t need phone tracking at all, didn’t need to plant trackers on clothes.
She only needed to close her eyes, and she could follow the trail of her scent through the air.
“Then what the hell am I even running for!!”
Rina’s voice exploded through the living room, startling Qiansui.
Rina began pacing back and forth in the living room, each step carrying extremely intense resentment.
As she walked, she frantically complained at the air, as if confronting some invisible culprit.
“You damn System, you never said this yandere was a vampire!! You bastard!!”
In her head, she cursed the System from head to toe.
You told me to escape from the yandere, you gave me one hundred million cash and a healthy body as rewards, you told me the punishment for failure was returning to a hospital bed…
But you forgot to tell me that this yandere wasn’t human!
This wasn’t increasing the game difficulty!
This was the game balance being completely broken!
Then she thought of an even more terrifying problem.
If the kidnapper was a vampire, if vampires really had the ability of scent tracking, if some kind of mark had already been placed on her body, then escaping was fundamentally a false proposition.
She could run to the ends of the earth and it wouldn’t matter; the kidnapper would definitely find her.
She stopped walking.
Then turned around to face this woman named Chitose.
The anger in her sky-blue eyes from cursing the System moments ago had faded.
In its place was a thin layer of fear that wasn’t fully formed yet but was gradually deepening.
“I’m not leaving.”
Her voice became resolute.
“I’ll just stay here. I’m not going anywhere.”
Qiansui blinked.
“The kidnapper treats me very well.”
“I’m not leaving. You should go, or else I’ll call the kidnapper back!”
Rina’s speech was getting faster and faster. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to be saved.
She did.
Something deeper was being activated in Qiansui’s green eyes.
What had that vampire done to her to make her this terrified?
Terrified enough to rather stay beside her abuser than accept rescue from the outside.
