Two figures sat across from one another.
“At this point, have you made your preparations?”
“Of course. Everything is ready, just waiting for a spark. As long as you stir up trouble, we’ll respond immediately.”
“Hmph, I hope you’ll keep your word. After all, you’ve already got a record. I don’t want to be made a fool of again!”
“Heh, last time was just an accident. This time we guarantee it’ll be foolproof. Besides, even though we didn’t kill Chu Jiujiu, at least no one suspected us.”
“This— Who!”
The two who had been speaking suddenly turned around. One of them swung a palm backhand and shattered the rock behind him, revealing the figure of a young man.
“It’s you!”
The black shadow said in surprise.
As for the young man’s identity, yes, it was Qin Mu.
After falling into this place, he couldn’t use a flying magic tool. Qin Mu had only walked a short distance when a path appeared before him. He hadn’t followed it far before he heard voices, so he quietly crept up.
He hadn’t expected to be discovered so quickly. Seeing that things had turned bad, Qin Mu didn’t hesitate and immediately bolted.
“What’s going on? How did you not notice someone tailing behind you?”
The thin black shadow said.
Now that their plan had been overheard—although they didn’t know when the eavesdropping had started—no matter how much had been heard, they couldn’t let the other party leave alive.
The black shadow hadn’t expected this either, but right now, he couldn’t make a move against the boy.
“I’ll leave this to you. I can’t act. If I do, my identity will be exposed.”
Hearing this, the thin black shadow didn’t ask further, because the boy had already almost run out of sight.
“For this, you owe me a favor!”
With that, the thin black shadow shot forward.
Huff—huff—
Qin Mu caught his breath and looked back.
‘Oh crap, that caught up fast!’
“Boy, this Elder has sensed the exit to this space. Follow this Elder’s guidance.”
At that moment, the Divine Dragon Senior’s voice sounded like music to Qin Mu’s ears.
“Alright, Divine Dragon Senior! Leave it to me!”
Without thinking further, Qin Mu immediately followed the Divine Dragon Senior’s guidance.
Behind him, the thin black shadow saw Qin Mu change direction. That direction… Not good! How did he know where the exit was?!
If this boy escaped, their entire plan would be exposed. At that thought, the thin black shadow immediately sped up.
When Qin Mu saw the black shadow behind him accelerate, ‘What the hell?! Are you using nitrous boost?!’
Ahead, the space rippled. Seeing this, Qin Mu’s face lit up.
‘Almost there!’
Without the slightest hesitation, the thin black shadow struck. True Qi transformed into a snake and shot straight toward him.
The wave of True Qi came, and the attack was about to land. At this rate, Qin Mu would be hit before he could get out.
“Heh heh, leave this to this Elder. A mere Nascent Soul Realm.”
The next moment, Qin Mu didn’t feel the usual surge of power filling his body. Instead, the golden veins on his arm began to glow.
His arm moved out of his control, sweeping back with a palm strike. Using the force of the thin black shadow’s attack, Qin Mu’s speed increased once more, and he charged straight out.
Pop—
Like a stone thrown into water, ripples spread through the space. When “Qin Mu” went out, he sealed the space as well.
“Damn it!”
The thin black shadow watched helplessly as the young man slipped through his fingers.
Outside.
Thud—
A figure collapsed into the bushes.
“Pah, pah, pah! I got a mouthful of dirt!”
Qin Mu landed perfectly, face-first in the dirt.
He raised his head. It was pitch-black around him, and the sounds of insects reached his ears. Through the gaps in the trees, he could see the lights below the mountain.
“I’m out!”
Qin Mu immediately glanced back, afraid that the other party would rush out the next second. Fortunately, the Divine Dragon Senior had sealed the space in the end, so at least for now, they wouldn’t be coming out.
“Qin Mu!!”
Qin Mu had just been marveling at having barely escaped when the next moment, he heard someone calling him.
He turned his head and saw a white-clad young woman running over.
“Lu Shuanger? Why are you here?”
“I should be asking you that. I searched high and low but couldn’t find you. I was just about to go down the mountain to look for Master when I saw you suddenly appear.”
At first, Lu Shuanger had been startled, thinking some demon ghost or something had rushed out.
“By the way, Qin Mu, where did you go? I searched all around here several times and couldn’t find you.”
Lu Shuanger had not only checked the small building three or four times, but the outside as well.
“It’s a long story. Anyway, a lot happened. Let’s head down the mountain first. I overheard something important.”
He would never have imagined they’d dare to use the Gu Tribe’s Holy Mountain as their meeting point. Was this what they meant by “the most dangerous place is the safest place”?
Qin Mu hurried back with Lu Shuanger in tow, and before long, he saw the courtyard gate.
He pushed it open and shouted, “Aunt Lu! I have—”
Halfway through, his words stuck in his throat. He opened his mouth, but the rest wouldn’t come out.
In the courtyard sat four peerless beauties, each with her own charm, impossible to rank.
When they saw Qin Mu push open the gate, all four gazes snapped to him in unison.
Under the stares of the four great beauties, Qin Mu’s scalp went numb.
‘Why does this feel like seeing my homeroom teacher in elementary school?’
“Miss Mengyu, Senior Chu, Miss Ruoshuang, Aunt Lu…”
Qin Mu greeted each of them in turn.
‘I’m doomed. It looks like they found out that I said I was in closed cultivation but actually snuck out with Lu Shuanger.’
Seeing her disciple return, Chu Jiujiu asked, “Shuanger, what did you and Young Master Qin go out to do?”
Not long ago, Lu Qian had come to her door in a fury and accused her disciple of luring Young Master Qin away, leaving Chu Jiujiu utterly bewildered.
She went to Young Master Qin’s residence, but there was no sign of him. Judging from the lingering aura in the air, Shuanger had indeed been there.
Just as Chu Jiujiu was about to set out to search herself, relying on the powerful Divine Sense of the Tribulation Stage, she sensed Young Master Qin’s aura. He was hurrying back here.
And so, the four of them sat there in unison, quietly waiting for Qin Mu to arrive.
“Master… I…”
Lu Shuanger’s gaze darted away.
‘Why do I feel like I seduced someone’s husband and took him out to fool around?’
“Hurry up and get over here.”
Chu Jiujiu pretended to be angry.
“Oh, okay.”
Lu Shuanger obediently walked over and stood beside her master.
Qin Mu: “…”
‘What am I supposed to do?’
Looking at the scene before him, Aunt Lu wasn’t looking at him, which meant she was upset. Senior Chu was whispering to Lu Shuanger. Miss Ruoshuang was the same as always—cold and icy. Miss Mengyu looked like she wanted to say something but hesitated.
This scene…
It wasn’t a Shura Field, but it might as well be one…
