Hertitz did not sit still and wait for death.
She crushed a palm-sized stone tablet hidden at her waist.
After a blinding flash of light the magic arrays actually began to crack and finally disappeared completely.
The magic arrays on the walls did the same.
“This is Dream Roselin’s ability. You really have more than just Flame Lock…”
Olivia slowly walked over her gaze sharp.
“I didn’t want to use it originally but Lord Olivia’s power is simply too strong~ You know probably only Elsa among the Heavenly Oracle Envoys can stop me. If it’s you and Creis together it would indeed be very troublesome.”
“Who is your leader? Is she hiding in the Church?”
Hertitz remained silent refusing to answer.
If this dragged on any longer the situation would become even more complicated.
Olivia clearly had no intention of using her full power yet.
Although she could resist to a certain extent there was still Creis to deal with making it extremely difficult to handle.
Moreover Olivia was not their target to begin with.
Hertitz’s eyes narrowed.
She took out another stone tablet from her waist and crushed it.
Immediately a surge of exhilarating and comfortable power flooded her entire body.
Her magic power skyrocketed in a short period of time.
She charged toward Olivia at extreme speed almost disappearing from her original spot in an instant.
Under the combined boost of the phoenix robe and her own power all her strength gathered into her palm.
In almost an instant Hertitz was covered by a giant silver-white bell.
It was airtight and even external sounds could not be heard.
Her attack struck the inner wall of the bell producing a deafening roar and violent tremors as if it could tear a person’s body apart.
But that power simply vanished.
Only a few milliseconds later the bell began to emit a strong light.
A heavy sensation never felt before surged from Hertitz’s body.
It was as if an ant was carrying a thousand-jin iron ball.
But she relied on sheer willpower to avoid collapsing immediately.
Hertitz had been waiting for this critical opportunity.
She crushed another stone tablet to restore her strength and removed the crystal pendant hanging from her neck.
The crystal emitted a warm and gentle red glow.
In just an instant it condensed in her hand into a longsword with a blue-gray metallic luster.
It looked like a longsword forged from some ancient metal simple yet heavy.
Hertitz slashed in the opposite direction.
This time her magic power was not restricted by the giant bell.
Instead she cut the giant bell in half at the waist.
The ear-piercing explosion and the flames erupting from her entire body were like a volcanic eruption.
In just a moment she charged toward the enemy.
The sword in her hand had already condensed violent flames.
The patterns hidden beneath the blade suddenly emerged telling of some kind of ancient magic.
This sword was called “Soul Severer”.
It was one of the weapons left behind by God Successor Lartomia.
It was said that by attaching fairy souls to it the weapon could become an even stronger god-slaying armament.
The humans of that time had used such weapons in alliance with the fairies attempting to resist the gods.
At that time the Heavenly Oracle Envoys as the Celestial God’s weapons slaughtered the resisting humans and hunted Lartomia.
Later only a few people understood the historical reasons behind it all.
The Heavenly Oracle Envoys controlled the Church.
When the Church’s upper echelons learned that calamity was descending they actually planned to build high walls to prevent any commoners from entering.
Only the chosen were worthy of the right to survive.
Thus the leader of humanity known as the [God Successor] Lartomia allied with the elves.
The former dispatched the fairy race to fully assist humanity.
Using fairy contracts they attached souls to weapons for forging creating this terrifying armament.
If it were not for the help of the Heavenly Oracle Envoys the Church’s holy capital would have been conquered within a week.
And this sword was said to be the very weapon Lartomia herself had used.
It was a divine weapon capable of cutting through all things.
One of them had disappeared.
The other was the one currently used by Flame Saint Hertitz.
Although it lacked fairy power after being reforged by certain powerful individuals among the Heavenly Oracle Envoys Hertitz could still wield it at one hundred percent of her strength.
Her flame tail dragged into a straight line.
In the rotating and howling gale it transformed into a tornado like a train speeding toward Creis.
Her target from beginning to end had always been Creis.
Boom——!
Before the giant sword could touch Creis’s body the violent impact seemed about to flip over half the city.
The air temperature rose sharply.
Some rubble instantly turned to dust and completely vanished in the flame tornado.
This was her only chance.
But suddenly Hertitz discovered that she had stopped.
It was not that she had voluntarily withdrawn her power.
She had hit but it had no effect at all.
It was as if she had only struck a piece of cotton absorbing all her power… No it was far worse than that.
The moment her ability activated she had sensed something wrong.
All her attacks were clearly at a level capable of burning half the city yet inside this alley they had no effect whatsoever.
Rewind?
If it were merely rewinding objects to their original state this Authority would not be frightening.
But Hertitz had miscalculated.
The Celestial God’s power was not rewind at all.
It was something far more complex…?
At this moment she was floating in midair.
Her speed seemed to have been drawn away out of nowhere and vanished.
“You were hiding from beginning to end just for this one strike right?”
Creis walked forward stopping at a distance of three steps from Hertitz.
She looked at her who had already collapsed to the ground with an expression devoid of emotion.
“Soul Severer” fell to the ground emitting a crisp sound before transforming back into the pendant crystal and returning to her neck.
How dangerous it was.
Hertitz drew in a sharp breath of cold air.
Only now did she understand the situation just now.
“Your power is gravity.”
She slowly stood up.
Having lost her weapon she no longer had any room to resist.
The sealing magic array beneath her feet that suppressed magic power had already formed.
This time she had no chance at all.
“Mm.” Creis only nodded admitting it.
From beginning to end she had possessed no ability beyond common understanding.
She simply controlled gravity.
There was no so-called rewind nor any more terrifying Authority imagined to exist only in legends with power sufficient to destroy the world.
However Celestial God Creis’s control over gravity had reached a level of precision that was horrifying.
Just now Hertitz had personally witnessed the stone walls shattered by the shockwave return to their original positions as if time had flowed backward and rejoin together.
Probably even discovering her whereabouts had been accomplished through this power.
After learning this Hertitz immediately took out a dagger and stabbed it toward her own chest.
Swish——!
At the critical moment Olivia’s light beam precisely struck the Flame Saint’s dagger knocking it away and cutting off her suicidal intent.
