Transmission Portal?
Both Jin Luan and Huan Hong of the Sisterhood thought of the same thing. It could appear and disappear in an instant—what else could it be but a Transmission Portal?
Unfortunately, Yin Lin was still under crowd control over there and couldn’t free a hand to check the situation.
Her Spear of Creation struck again, taking care of the Demonic Creature that had been roaring to attract enemies. It was dealt with without any incidents. That thing might have been somewhat special, but it was just a Low-level Demon.
Yin Lin still couldn’t leave. She was surrounded by a large number of Mid-level and Low-level Demons.
She also tried to escape, wanting to go back to the entrance, crawl through the hole, reset aggro, and then come back to deal with the Demons slowly. Being under crowd control the whole time was unpleasant; she was jostled until her head spun.
The idea was nice, but she still couldn’t escape. She had just flown a few meters when a Demon caught her and smashed her into the ground a few times like the Hulk.
The stone ground was cracked open. It was as if they were using Yin Lin as a quality inspector, testing whether the stone ground was hard enough to serve as a qualified road foundation.
Feeling that countless Demons had appeared around her, Yin Lin had no choice but to go all out and begin charging her Magic Power Cannon. She would have to AFK for a while.
Jin Luan and Huan Hong also sensed what Yin Lin was doing.
Over there, for some reason, Jin Luan’s heart skipped a beat again, and goosebumps rose on her skin.
From the side, there was a stone statue. She could barely make out its general shape. Something about that statue was drawing her in.
She glanced roughly at the surroundings. It looked like a place of worship for a Religion, but the scene before her was crude, not as refined as human architecture.
Suddenly, Jin Luan grabbed Huan Hong’s hand and pushed her aside.
Jin Luan crawled through first, looking very anxious. Sometimes her clothes got caught on something, but she ignored it and forced her way through. More scratches were left on her body.
After she had passed through, Huan Hong looked back.
The sounds of battle in the cave were loud. The Demons roared and howled as if they wanted to devour Yin Lin alive. Huan Hong was terrified and worried just listening to them. Unfortunately, the battle situation there was not something she could handle. She could only pray for Yin Lin.
She got down, crawled through the hole too, and entered a place that resembled a great hall.
It was very spacious, employing architectural knowledge unique to humans. There were many Bearing Pillars used to counteract the soil above, to prevent collapse.
Huan Hong’s attention was still on the architecture until she noticed Jin Luan standing completely still, which was unusual.
Only then did she shift her focus to Jin Luan. She was staring at the statue in the great hall.
That statue was five meters tall, enormous. It depicted a very ferocious-looking Demonic Creature.
The carving technique was somewhat crude, roughly displaying the Demonic Creature’s image and a few identifiable features. It was clearly a Cadre-level Demon. It wore a necklace, held a Shield in its left hand, and in its right hand, it held something like a Wand that could be used for both Melee Combat and spellcasting. The Wand had a socket, but the thing inside it was missing.
This thing was already very attention-grabbing, but there were other equally attractive things.
Jin Luan’s attention was right there. The Demonic Creature in this statue was fighting something. It wasn’t the usual storyless illustration-style display statue. This statue seemed to be telling a story.
Below the Demonic Creature statue were many corpses. Corpses of Demonic Creatures and Magical Girls. These were all roughly carved, making details unrecognizable.
The most special part were the two remaining Magical Girls. One of them was half-kneeling, as if injured. This Magical Girl’s image was slightly clearer—enough to make out her uniform and see her weapon.
This Magical Girl was at position three of the statue. The Shield-Wand Demon of the statue was at position one.
So what about position two?
That was a Magical Girl with wings. More accurately, it looked like a pair of magical wings, not real wings. She wore a uniform with regional characteristics, many ribbons fluttering around her, like a figure from a myth. Compared to current Magical Girls, it was like the highest SSR level from a gacha—too gorgeous.
Suddenly, a dazzling light appeared before their eyes. It was Jin Luan using an Illumination Spell.
Huan Hong’s eyes almost went blind; she hurriedly removed her Night Vision Device.
Jin Luan had already reached the statue and touched the Magical Girl at position two, whose face couldn’t be seen clearly, with her hand.
She touched from head to leg.
Huan Hong also recovered her eyesight and noticed what the Magical Girl at position two was holding.
“Holy crap!”
She couldn’t help but exclaim.
At that moment, Jin Luan suddenly raised her knife and cut down, destroying the entire statue.
She added over a hundred slashes, even using skills, completely obliterating the scene until only debris remained.
“Don’t tell anyone about what you saw here.”
Jin Luan issued a stern warning.
“Okay, but… what’s going on? Am I the same as Li Xiang?”
Huan Hong was very curious.
“I… don’t know.”
Jin Luan was also full of confusion. Maybe the statue was just carved randomly?
“Don’t overthink it.”
Huan Hong didn’t even believe her own words.
They checked the great hall a bit more but didn’t find anything else.
The Transmission Portal hypothesis was wrong—there was no Transmission Portal here.
The investigation was mostly done. They wanted to leave through the main entrance, but found that the place had no gate—it was sealed.
Feeling that Yin Lin’s accumulated Mana was increasing and had already reached a very dangerous level, the two had no choice but to quickly leave the area and run back.
Before Yin Lin blew this place up, they had to hurry and get out.
