“Why is that?” Lu Li couldn’t help but sweat.
“Your high-grade spirit root can’t be hidden for long. Besides, it’s not exactly a secret.” Su Wanqiu sighed.
“And entering a cultivation sect with a virgin body means that once you start cultivating, the Qi inside your body will turn into Pure Yang Qi. This is an essential resource for countless Yin Yang Sect disciples when they need to break through.”
“In other words, I’ve become a treasure.” Lu Li understood immediately.
“And our Yin Yang Sect has a sect sparring every month. The loser… becomes the winner’s cauldron.” Su Wanqiu looked meaningfully at the two books and the long sword on the table next to Lu Li.
“Fortunately, there’s still a month left.”
“If it’s just contributing a bit of Pure Yang Qi, that’s no big deal.” Lu Li wasn’t too scared about that.
“No, if you lose, you’ll become a woman, and it will last even longer than now.”
“Ah?” Lu Li looked at his venerable master. Her expression was solemn, clearly not deceiving him.
Besides, she wouldn’t go that far.
“First, if your Pure Yang Qi from birth is absorbed by someone, the yin-yang balance will be disrupted, and a large amount of Pure Yin Qi will enter your body.” Su Wanqiu explained carefully.
“Second, the cultivation technique you’re practicing is from the Yin Yang Sect, so you will naturally turn into a woman.”
“Then I’m done for…” Lu Li couldn’t help but break out in a cold sweat.
“That’s not true. Our Yin Yang Sect has the Mountain Gate, so we’re not lacking in Pure Yin Qi. Turning into a woman actually allows for faster cultivation.” Su Wanqiu comforted him.
“Then, Venerable Master, what if I only cultivate the Sword Technique Heart Method?”
“That’s one way to think about it, but if you don’t cultivate the Union Bliss Manual, how will you learn the techniques of your fellow disciples and know their weaknesses?” Su Wanqiu countered.
“This month, you should spar well with Qing Luo. She’s at the Qi Refining Seventh Layer, already a mid-grade cultivator, and can teach you many skills.”
“Yes, thank you, Master.” Lu Li’s heart was filled with mixed emotions.
‘After all the trouble to join a cultivation sect and have a promising future.’
‘Even the women in the sect are all over me, senior sisters and junior sisters fighting to be with me.’
‘Two happy things combined… why do I feel so bitter?’
With a sigh, Lu Li watched Su Wanqiu leave, stepping into the small courtyard bathed in the slanting sunlight.
He sighed again, attracting the attention of Qing Luo, who had just finished cleaning.
“Little junior brother, what are you sighing about… no, now it’s little junior sister.” Qing Luo patted Lu Li’s shoulder carelessly.
“Worried about turning into this and getting poked every day, right?”
“Pretty much. But Senior Sister Qing Luo, you’ve become a lot more outspoken.” Lu Li smiled bitterly at the hand on his shoulder.
“Because if I had been like this from the start, would you have been willing to join our sect? You probably would have gone to the Imperial Sword Sect.” Qing Luo glanced at the token at Lu Li’s waist.
“Come on, let’s go get some food, and I’ll teach you the basics of the Yin Yang Sect. Also, we’ll pick up a woman’s robe.”
“No, I refuse.”
“I don’t mind, little junior sister.” Qing Luo grinned mischievously.
“You can drag yourself to the sect in those ill-fitting clothes for all I care.”
“I don’t care either!” Lu Li tied his hair up again and tightened his belt, but his excessively slender waist made Qing Luo click her tongue in amazement.
After a simple tidy-up, Lu Li hung the long sword in his room.
Although this cultivation long sword was lighter than the one he used at the escort agency before, paired with his current clothes, it kept pulling the fabric down, revealing his pale shoulders, and would even slide further down.
To avoid suddenly finding himself naked while walking, Lu Li had to give up.
As for the two books, he left them in the room.
Following Qing Luo, he stepped onto the Light Gauze and soared into the air.
The sun hung high, a gentle breeze brushed his face, and with the fragrance of peach blossoms, his previously low spirits lifted considerably.
In the following time, Lu Li ate the Yin Yang Sect’s meal and learned many important points from Qing Luo.
For example, spirit roots, according to cultivation world classification, have five grades: miscellaneous, mortal, low, mid, and high.
Lu Li’s high-grade spirit root was indeed exceptional talent.
“Is there a grade above high-grade?” By now the two had returned to the room and were sitting in the main hall discussing.
“There is. It’s said to be immortal-grade, but only some hidden sects or descendants of great nations have that.” Qing Luo waved her hand.
Her slightly carefree manner, occasionally gentle, helped calm Lu Li’s mood.
“Immortal-grade spirit root…” Lu Li narrowed his eyes, imagining himself having one.
“But it’s strange.” Saying this, Qing Luo leaned in close, her ruqun naturally drooping at the chest, causing Lu Li to look away again.
“I have a low-grade charm spirit root, junior brother… hehe, junior sister, you have a high-grade charm spirit root. It’s normal that you’re not influenced by my seduction.”
“Just call me junior brother.” Lu Li’s head started to ache.
“Okay, no problem… my cute junior brother.” Qing Luo giggled, her gaze sweeping across Lu Li’s chest, making him instinctively cover himself.
Then he could only sigh.
“It’s only one day… after cultivating the technique, I’ll turn back.” Lu Li comforted himself.
“And my spirit root is really good.”
“Right, a high-grade spirit root that appears once in a thousand years.” Qing Luo nodded.
“The enchantment arts of the other senior and junior sisters are completely useless on you.”
“Yes, so when we went out today, many senior sisters… their plans failed.”
Lu Li remembered that during the meal, many senior and junior sisters—or perhaps “senior sisters” and “junior sisters”—had come to him in droves, inviting him to “visit Mount Wu.”
It seemed wonderful at first, but a simple thought made his hair stand on end.
“But according to reason, junior brother, you have a high-grade charm spirit root, so you should naturally emit charm power. How come I don’t feel it?” Qing Luo examined Lu Li closely.
“Maybe it’s because you haven’t cultivated yet, but that shouldn’t be the case.”
“How strange…” Qing Luo thought for a moment.
“Forget it, let’s cultivate!”
“Right.” Lu Li nodded and walked to the right side of the main hall, to his own small room.
After placing his sword on the bed, Lu Li sat cross-legged.
But sitting cross-legged now only made his heart restless.
Alone in the room, he looked down and could see a pair of tall peaks he had never seen before.
And fingers as slender as scallions, skin like jade and silk, all made Lu Li feel…
But there seemed to be no reaction.
‘Could it be that turning into a woman… not only the body, but also the heart changes?’
Thinking this, Lu Li couldn’t help but sweat, and quickly closed his eyes to focus his mind.
He didn’t want to accept that.
After thinking for a moment, Lu Li picked up the Sword Technique Heart Method.
“Harness the power of the sky, condense the Qi of the dantian…” As he read slowly, Lu Li followed the book’s instructions, slowly sensing the drifting Qi in the room, then gently drawing it into his body and storing it in his dantian.
With each breath, Lu Li inadvertently closed his eyes.
But before his eyes, he could still dimly see faint specks of light.
With his breathing, these specks gently came to his side, becoming warm balls of Qi within his meridians.
With a slight mental command, these Qi balls quietly settled into his meridians.
This feeling was amazing—just by thinking, these Qi balls would move and change within his meridians.
At the same time, each movement brought a unique sense of comfort and pleasure.
It was like entering a warm hot spring in the middle of winter.
Or like soaking in a cool stream during sweltering heat.
This feeling made Lu Li unable to stop.
“Mm?” While absorbing, Lu Li suddenly felt a distension in both arms and opened his eyes.
The sky, which had been midday, had already turned to dusk.
“This… no wonder they say cultivation is timeless.” Lu Li sighed as he watched the sky change.
He lowered his head to look at the description in the book, and his eyes widened.
“If you feel your meridians distending, then you have reached Qi Refining Layer 1.”
“That fast?” Lu Li looked at his hands in disbelief. In just a few short hours, he had become a Qi Refining cultivator?
And this was only from practicing one of the books.
He swallowed.
Lu Li looked at the other manual at the head of his bed.
The Yin Yang Sect’s cultivation method.
“Maybe… I should give it a try?”
