What’s going on? After Via passed through the fissure, the communication device went completely silent. No matter how much Sashaya called out, there was no response.
Sashaya stared at the communication device in her hand, her heart burning with anxiety.
She had no idea what had happened inside.
She was so worried. What exactly lay behind that fissure? If Via had run into danger, why hadn’t she used the teleportation scroll?
“She’s here, she’s here!”
While Sashaya stood puzzled, the dolls surrounding her began bouncing around excitedly.
“Huh? Via!”
Sashaya looked forward. Sure enough, a figure was walking toward her in the distance.
The dolls raised their lanterns high together. Only under the light could she clearly make out who it was.
“Lady Sashaya, I’m back.” Via smiled and greeted her.
“You’re… Via?”
Sashaya’s expression filled with surprise.
The Via standing before her now had undergone a massive change compared to when she had gone in earlier. Sashaya took a careful look before finally confirming that this was indeed Via.
Via casually tossed the communication device over.
“Who else could it be besides me?”
“You… turned from a human into a demonkin?”
“Not exactly. After all, I was already a half-blood with both human and demonkin lineage. It’s just that I fully awakened the Demon King bloodline earlier, so my demonkin traits have become much more prominent.”
Via replied.
“Demon King bloodline…?”
Sashaya latched onto the key phrase.
“This matter is a bit complicated. Where should I even start?” Via found it a little difficult to explain.
“Let me ask the questions instead. What exactly exists behind that fissure?”
Sashaya asked, her voice clearly excited.
The secret she had been investigating for many years was finally about to be revealed.
“It’s a meteorite from outer space.”
“A meteorite from outer space? What do you mean?”
“This might take a while to explain. It all started in a very distant era—”
Via gave Sashaya the shortest possible summary of the meteorite’s origin.
After listening, Sashaya blinked. “The origin of abyssal aura, the origin of demonkin, and the reason behind the Thousand Sea Abyss… So that’s how it all happened?”
“Yeah, pretty unbelievable, right? If you told most people that demonkin and humans originally came from the same source, probably very few would believe it.” Via shrugged. “But that’s reality.”
“So my previous actions were actually very dangerous? I kept thinking about crossing that fissure to uncover the secret behind it…”
“However, as long as my father is there, he won’t let others approach the meteorite from outer space casually.”
“Father?”
“Yes. He is the first-generation Demon King—the very first demonkin to touch the meteorite from outer space and survive,” Via explained. “After his power grew strong, he chose to become the King of the demonkin and rule over the entire demon race to resist the humans of the ancient kingdom in the north of the Desolate Fallen Continent. Knowing the danger of the meteorite, he came to the Thousand Sea Abyss and sealed it here, preventing others from getting close.”
“Your father was actually the first-generation Demon King? No wonder your affinity with abyssal aura is so extraordinarily high.”
Sashaya quickly accepted this seemingly bizarre explanation.
After all, even as a Legendary-tier demonkin, she couldn’t withstand such high-purity abyssal aura, yet Transcendent-tier Via had managed it.
It would have been strange if someone without Demon King bloodline could endure one hundred percent pure abyssal aura.
“But how did your father end up developing feelings for a human?”
Via didn’t want to reveal all her family matters to others. “Lady Sashaya, that’s private family business. I’d rather not go into detail.”
“In short, to prevent the disaster from recurring, my father chose to remain in the Thousand Sea Abyss and guard the meteorite from outer space. Lady Sashaya, the reason you couldn’t approach the fissure is also my father’s decision. He doesn’t want others to get close and risk being tempted by the meteorite’s power, losing themselves in the process.”
“Fine.”
Sashaya felt a bit regretful. She had really wanted to study that meteorite from outer space.
However, with her current ability, it was indeed impossible.
“Via, your bloodline awakening—was that thanks to your father’s help?”
“Yes. Lady Sashaya, you should be able to sense it, right? Compared to before I went in, my strength has increased quite a bit.”
“It has increased a lot. At this rate, you’ll break through to Legendary tier very soon. I previously said whether you could reach Legendary tier would depend on you yourself, but now it doesn’t seem like an issue anymore.”
Sashaya raised her staff and lightly tapped Via on the body.
A ripple of demonic energy spread out. She quickly sensed that the abyssal aura inside Via had undergone an earth-shaking change and become far purer.
“Lady Sashaya, I’ve investigated the truth of the forbidden zone as you requested and brought you this valuable information. In that case, shouldn’t you also fulfill your promise?” The corners of Via’s mouth curved upward slightly.
“You’ve decided to establish your royal court, correct?”
“Of course. After awakening the Demon King bloodline, I’m even more determined.”
To others, Via now looked completely like a demonkin.
She no longer needed to hide her identity. She could act openly in her current form and reclaim everything she had once lost.
“Alright, alright, I know.”
Sashaya hugged her staff. Although she wore a rather reluctant expression, she still gave her answer.
Her research had reached a stage of results, and it was time to find the next interesting goal to pass the long years of a Demoness’s life.
“I, Abyssal Demoness Sashaya, am willing to join the royal court being established by Via Shirleyford. I will help you defeat the other contenders and assist you in becoming the new Demon King, ruling over the Desolate Fallen Continent.”
Via extended her hand.
“Welcome to the team, Lady Sashaya.”
She had gained a powerful ally. With Sashaya’s help, she would be able to achieve her goals much faster.
“Let me see just how far the original Demon King bloodline can go.”
Sashaya took Via’s hand. In her heart, she felt a growing sense of anticipation toward this extraordinary girl before her.
“Via, don’t disappoint me, okay?”
I am waiting for Via to let Ville in the past and rise as the new Demon King Via, to be honest. She should accept her new life as her new self already.
Think about it. The ideology of humans and demons are incompatible, Ville was based on, no longer has any logical standing. Her very parents are the example.
yeah i find that’s definitely the case isn’t it
