‘What happened?’
Yang Shuli frowned and opened her eyes. She saw the interior of a relatively clean van, though for some reason it was covered in dust. It looked like a minivan.
Yang Shuli endured the headache and began to recall what had happened. It seemed she had gone to a newly opened pickup point to collect a package, when she was grabbed. Then she was knocked unconscious and thrown into the van. After that, she couldn’t remember anything because she lost consciousness as soon as she was thrown in, and only woke up now.
She also understood her current situation. She had been kidnapped. This was a terrifying thing, since she didn’t know why they kidnapped her. Even considering the possibility of child organ trafficking, the entire back compartment of the van was too empty. She was the only one. That meant so far, they were only targeting her.
Yang Shuli didn’t recall ever provoking anyone who would be willing to kidnap her. Given her personality, the worst she had ever done was quietly report a teammate after a game.
‘Will I die?’
Thinking this, Yang Shuli couldn’t help but tremble all over. Normally, in such situations, according to the news, you would face a certain amount of torture before dying, right? She was very scared.
Tomorrow she was supposed to treat Xu Nian to a meal. If Xu Nian didn’t get to eat, wouldn’t it seem like she had freeloaded all along? The cherries this season seemed nice, but they were too expensive for her to buy. It seemed she wouldn’t get the chance to enjoy them.
She should find a way to escape. But her hands and feet were tied. In her current position, she couldn’t reach the ropes on her feet or the locked door. She couldn’t even reach the ropes on her wrists. At least her clothes were still intact, and there were no abnormalities elsewhere. It was a bit like sending goods from the seller to the buyer.
What should she do? She lifted her head slightly. The two people in the driver’s seat and passenger seat seemed to be talking about something, maybe in some dialect she couldn’t understand. Now all she could do was wiggle slightly; she couldn’t even move much.
She needed to find an opportunity. The best case would be if the two kidnappers opened the door later and ignored her, so she could roll out of the van, and then there would be a sharp stone on the roadside that would cut the ropes binding her. Of course, such a movie-like scenario was almost impossible, and Yang Shuli knew she couldn’t escape in this situation.
So the suspicion that had been lingering in her mind resurfaced.
‘Will she die?’
Turning. Braking. Even the screeching sound of the brakes overlapped with her memories. The van continued driving, and occasional bumps made Yang Shuli’s head hit the floor of the compartment. Her mind grew clearer, but her thoughts became more chaotic.
She should have died in the first place. In that car accident, she was the one who should have died. But she survived, and she carried an increasingly heavy burden. Maybe this time was good. It wasn’t her fault, and she wasn’t actively seeking death. Someone just came after her and wanted her life. Then let her die this time.
But what was with this trembling and fear throughout her body?
‘I don’t want to die.’
‘But I also want to die.’
Too contradictory. Perhaps a person’s mind and body should never be one.
The van stopped. Yang Shuli closed her eyes, as if to escape all of this.
“What is this stuff you’re bringing to me? This isn’t a garbage dump.”
Outside the van, the two who had just gotten off were talking to a potbellied man.
Unfortunately, even though the two kidnappers got off the van, they didn’t create conditions for Yang Shuli to wiggle out.
The potbellied man waved his hand, seemingly unwilling to accept this delivery.
“Sister Yue sent us. We found a female college student for you. Sister Yue said her parents died in an accident, only two elderly left, usually no one to rely on, and she looks…” The driver gave a thumbs up.
“Go, go, go. I’m busy here. The big boss earlier sent out a missing person notice. If I don’t find the person in the next two days, I might not even keep my position.” The potbellied man still waved his hand.
“Besides, I was just taught a lesson by the big boss. I won’t do forced transactions. I prefer mutual consent in money and body trades.”
Hearing this, the two who had just gotten off the van became visibly flustered.
“Sister Yue told us to bring her here. If you don’t accept her, we don’t know where to take her.”
“Maybe you should take a look first. What if Sister Yue sent something you need?”
Both of their tones carried panic.
The cargo in the van was a hot potato. If neither side wanted it, they would be the ones responsible. They couldn’t bear that responsibility.
“What use is she? She’s clueless about everything. All she did was climb into my bed before, knowing I like to play with women.”
The potbellied man paused. “Forget it, I’ll take a look. I heard that woman recently went to see Master Xu. Maybe there’s something useful…”
The compartment door was pulled open. The glaring light hit Yang Shuli’s face, revealing her appearance and her already disheveled twin tails to the people outside.
“Isn’t she still just a kid?!”
The potbellied man was about to raise his hand to hit the one who brought Yang Shuli.
But then he suddenly froze. He took out his phone and compared it with the photo of the person the big boss was looking for, checking repeatedly. In an instant, cold sweat broke out.
“Are you two fucking out of your minds? Do you know who you kidnapped?”
He gasped heavily. Even though the two in front of him didn’t know what was going on, seeing the man’s expression, they knew this was a big deal.
“Get the hell out of here. This person absolutely cannot stay with me.”
He gave them the boot.
But after the two hurriedly got into the van, he made another call.
“Go, there’s a van about to leave the gate. Stop it outside the gate. Don’t let the people inside get out, and don’t let the kid in the back get hurt in any way.”
Then he gasped for breath, took a while to calm down, and made up his mind. He dialed another number.
“Hello, is this Master Xu? Ah, it’s me. I think I found the person you’re looking for. I’ll go pick you up now.”
But after hanging up, he cursed that reckless bitch in his heart countless times. She had to throw this bomb into his hands. Now whether he could get through this safely depended entirely on fate.
“What exactly is the relationship between that girl and Master Xu? Why all this fuss?”
