“Run!”
Those eyes—the rescue team knew them all too well.
Wen Shu’s voice cracked in terror.
The memory of being chased by the Ruin Serpent God and nearly dying flooded his mind…
This was the Ruin Serpent God! An invincible existence! Even if they ran at full speed, escape wasn’t guaranteed!
“Captain, wait!”
A teammate suddenly grabbed his arm.
“If you want to die, go die! Why drag me?! You—”
Wen Shu turned back in fury, cursing viciously, but out of the corner of his eye he caught sight of the Ruin Serpent God “bursting out” from the darkness of the cave.
A few tiny figures stood in front of the Ruin Serpent God, ropes on their shoulders, panting as they dragged it outward.
Dragging?
Was he seeing things?
Wen Shu stared dumbfounded at the figures in front of the serpent god. Three Human Cultivators, five Demons—and one of them was still unconscious…
And they were, without a doubt, dragging the Ruin Serpent God. They weren’t being chased, nor were they controlled… They were simply pulling an enormous, motionless serpent head forward.
As they drew closer, everyone could finally see clearly.
The legendary Ruin Serpent God’s head… was crushed.
“Come and give us a hand!” Li Lao’er shouted, while eyeing Wen Shu cautiously. “Humans, stay back! This is a kill by the Demon Race!”
“You…” Wen Shu pointed at the Ruin Serpent God’s head, stammering, “…killed the Ruin Serpent God? Impossible!”
“Nothing is impossible in front of our Little Monster,” Li Lao’er said, puffing out his chest proudly, as if he himself had slain the Ruin Serpent God.
“Wait…” Wen Shu caught some crucial subtext. He asked Li Lao’er, even more disoriented, “Are you saying killing the Ruin Serpent God… was done by one demon alone?”
“Of course!” Li Lao’er raised his head arrogantly, then made a respectful gesture toward Jiang Ke’er.
“This right here is the Newbie Hunter who single-handedly slew the Ruin Serpent God. If you doubt it, you can ask your own clansmen for the details… Now, you may worship.”
Under normal circumstances, if someone had put on such a self-satisfied display in front of him, Wen Shu would have punched the guy’s nose flat.
But right now, he was still reeling from the shocking news: “The Ruin Serpent God is dead.”
And after accepting reality, Wen Shu was frantically considering the implications—and what he had to do next.
Clang!
Weapons on both sides were drawn almost simultaneously. Wen Shu and Fei Ling sent out communication signals at the same time, streaks of light shooting off in two different directions!
“Kill all Demons!”
“Kill all Humans!”
The rescue teams of both races had been exchanging pleasantries a moment ago.
The next second, they erupted, unleashing their deadliest techniques against each other!
The significance of the Ruin Serpent God’s corpse was simply too great.
Currently, research on the Void King-level Void Gods in the entire Realm of No Regret was still pitifully lacking.
All existing study records only described the living habits of these ultra-powerful Void Kings, and most of that was merely speculation based on traces—never direct observation. It was impossible to distinguish truth from falsehood.
As for the research on the physical structure of the Void Gods, it was a complete wasteland—utter ignorance.
That was precisely why the Void Gods had remained unvanquished for so long.
Each Void God possessed its own powerful traits, and their weaknesses and methods of defeat had never been discovered…
So they continued to rule over their territories, a shadow looming over all cultivators in the Realm of No Regret.
If they could get their hands on a Void God’s corpse and study it, the situation would change dramatically.
The corpse represented not only an enormous trove of unique, never-before-obtained materials.
It might even be possible to find the weaknesses of other Void Gods through study, defeat them, and create a virtuous cycle.
The benefits were virtually limitless—enough to let a race soar in the Realm of No Regret!
And whoever brought back the Ruin Serpent God’s corpse would also receive immense rewards!
So… monopolize it!
They had to monopolize the Ruin Serpent God’s corpse as much as possible… Even if they couldn’t, they absolutely couldn’t let their opponents have it alone!
What had started as a rescue mission instantly turned into a scramble for loot.
In the face of such terrifying profits, all friendship became worthless. The only path to survival was to kill the enemy.
The clanging of weapons rang out without pause. The battle immediately escalated into a life-or-death struggle, aimed solely at killing the opponent.
Li Lao’er’s expression shifted. He pulled Changsun Qingyue and Mu Guoguo behind the giant serpent head and whispered, “This snake definitely can’t be kept. There’s only one medium-sized Demon town nearby, but the Humans have two large towns. Once reinforcements arrive, we’ll be completely outmatched…
We can’t help here.
We need to run, at least make sure Qing Yi doesn’t fall into their hands. Unless Qing Yi recovers to full strength right now… How much longer until she wakes up?”
“Not for a while. She’s too badly injured.” Changsun Qingyue shook her head worriedly, but she showed no fear or panic.
Instead, she said, “Maybe there’s another way.”
“What other way?” Li Lao’er gave a bitter smile, already sneakily picking up seemingly valuable items from inside the serpent’s head to prepare for a retreat.
“Qing Yi is here, so Qiao Xiaoxian must have come too.” Changsun Qingyue smiled gently.
“They were probably forcibly separated by random teleportation, but it’s been a long time now. She should be arriving soon…”
“Silly girl, how can you be sure she’ll come?” Li Lao’er found this reasoning laughable. “What if she’s still outside the area?”
“Woman’s intuition.” Changsun Qingyue blinked and answered very seriously.
“Even if she did enter, she might not find this place in time.” Li Lao’er dismissed her idea.
“Counting on reinforcements isn’t reliable. We can only rely on ourselves… Let’s run. Once Qing Yi wakes up, we can take it back anyway. No one here can stop her. As long as she’s not captured, we’ll be fine.”
Changsun Qingyue had to admit that Li Lao’er’s logic was more solid.
Her own idea was too emotional and idealistic…
Besides, scanning the surroundings, there was indeed no sign of Qiao Xiaoxian.
It seemed she had guessed wrong.
“No need to run… and no need to wait for her.”
Jiang Ke’er suddenly opened her eyes and staggered to her feet.
Her condition was still terrible, but at least her body had returned to normal—not a puddle of flattened flesh anymore.
“No! Your bones haven’t been reset yet!” Changsun Qingyue said anxiously.
“If you move too violently, the bone spikes stuck in your organs could cause massive bleeding again! It’ll be bad!”
“It’s fine. To deal with these guys, I don’t need to move violently.”
Several strands of Jiang Ke’er’s hair turned feathery again, and a barely perceptible fine texture appeared on her skin.
With a light leap, she landed on top of the serpent’s head.
Looking down at the chaotic battle below, the cultivators still hadn’t noticed her.
She gave a faint, cold smile.
“Welcome to True Ke’er Unrivaled.”
