Chapter 61: Victory

“Luo Shangyu, I already have Qin Yu in my hands. For her safety, you should surrender.” Chen Yufei tapped Qin Yu’s armor with her dagger, producing a clear sound.

Qin Yu shouted to Luo Shangyu, “Don’t worry about me! We’re about to win! Securing victory is the only priority!”

The blood that had flowed was already dried. 

Qin Yu felt the blood on her neck had clotted and was a bit hard. 

She wasn’t worried that Chen Yufei would kill her, because that would only stir up her soldiers’ fighting spirit.

Luo Shangyu rode to the front of the formation, “Chen Yufei, as a general, you actually need to take the enemy commander hostage to force surrender in order to win?”

“I’m just giving you an excuse to surrender. Do you really think I can’t defeat you?”

“Then come on.” After Luo Shangyu said that, the soldiers behind her shouted in unison and charged toward Chen Yufei’s formation.

Luo Shangyu took the lead, swinging her long halberd, cutting a bloody path through the formation, and attacking directly toward Chen Yufei.

Chen Yufei, holding Qin Yu hostage, was unable to move freely and could only dodge desperately. 

But in the end, she couldn’t avoid it and Luo Shangyu got close.

She hastily resisted Luo Shangyu’s attack. 

Qin Yu took this opportunity to snatch the dagger from her hand.

For a moment, Chen Yufei was caught in a two-sided attack.

Chen Yufei sensed something was wrong. 

Just then, Luo Shangyu swung her long halberd again, thrusting at her. 

Chen Yufei simply grabbed Qin Yu’s waist with both hands and used her as a shield in front of herself.

Qin Yu was very light, and caught off guard, was easily lifted by Chen Yufei. 

Seeing Luo Shangyu’s long halberd about to stab at herself, she shouted loudly to warn Luo Shangyu, but it was too late.

Luo Shangyu’s strike was aimed for a killing blow, with great force.

It wasn’t something that could be stopped easily.

Under Luo Shangyu’s magic amplifying her own strength, the long halberd pierced through Qin Yu’s chest, came out her back, and then stabbed into Chen Yufei’s chest.

With one halberd strike, both Qin Yu and Chen Yufei were pierced. 

The soldiers who had come to support Chen Yufei were shocked by Luo Shangyu’s attack.

Luo Shangyu was also startled. 

She hadn’t expected that Qin Yu would be used as a shield by Chen Yufei!

Without time to think, she pulled out the long halberd. 

Qin Yu nearly fell off her warhorse.

Luo Shangyu grabbed her and brought her onto her own horse.

Meanwhile, Chen Yufei, clutching the wound on her chest, lay on her horse’s back and couldn’t straighten up for a long time.

Luo Shangyu’s strike had pierced her lung, making it hard for her to breathe. 

Every exhalation carried a strong smell of blood. 

The sweet, coppery blood surged in her throat, causing her to cough violently, nearly suffocating her.

Chen Yufei frantically searched for her healing potion. 

Her fingertips had turned white and were trembling slightly.

Due to excessive blood loss, her body gradually grew cold. 

The sharp pain in her chest tore at her consciousness. 

Chen Yufei’s vision blurred, and her movements became stiff and slow.

She raised her head. 

Luo Shangyu was commanding the troops to launch the final attack on her forces. 

Wounded, her army’s morale plummeted, and coupled with battle fatigue, they had almost no resistance.

Qin Yu lay on the back of Luo Shangyu’s warhorse, holding a small bottle of potion containing life elements.

Although this potion wasn’t as effective as the Jade Cong, it could barely treat the wound and relieve pain.

“Is it over?” Qin Yu looked at the one-sided battlefield situation and asked Luo Shangyu.

“It’s over,” Luo Shangyu said calmly.

At this moment, Chen Yufei’s forces had completely collapsed, suffering a total defeat.

Luo Shangyu led her army in hot pursuit behind Chen Yufei.

Chen Yufei finally found a magic potion. 

The magic potion was slowly restoring her body, but she knew it was useless. 

Her defeat was only a matter of time.

“Your Highness!” Qin Yu snapped back to reality.

A nearby soldier offered her his warhorse.

“Thank you…” Qin Yu climbed up weakly and rode slowly alongside Luo Shangyu.

“No pursuit?” Qin Yu asked Luo Shangyu.

“Don’t pursue a desperate enemy.”

“But I want to get revenge on Chen Yufei! She used me as a shield! How despicable!”

“But your body…”

Qin Yu looked down at her chest. 

The armor had self-repaired, leaving only terrifying bloodstains. 

The pain in her chest had largely subsided under the effect of the potion.

“Wait, I’ll go with you…” Before Luo Shangyu could finish, Qin Yu had already galloped away.

Carrying Qin Yu’s fury, her speed was like flying, and she quickly caught up with the fleeing Chen Yufei.

“Chen Yufei!” Qin Yu shouted, raising her modao and thrusting at Chen Yufei.

Chen Yufei was already near death. 

Luo Shangyu’s earlier attack had pierced her right chest. 

She had only managed to hold on until now thanks to a mage’s strong physique and the support of magic potions.

The guards nearby were completely intimidated by Qin Yu’s vengeful aura and couldn’t even think to rescue Chen Yufei.

After dodging for a while, Chen Yufei exhausted her last bit of strength.

She simply reined in her horse and turned to face Qin Yu.

The sudden change surprised Qin Yu: “Do you want to fight again?!”

“There’s no way I’ll survive today, so I’ll take you with me to die!” With that, Chen Yufei counterattacked Qin Yu with her lance.

Her movements were fluid and powerful, showing no sign of being severely wounded.

“Is this a last burst of energy?” Qin Yu blocked Chen Yufei’s attack with her horizontal blade. 

She felt the force was even stronger than before.

Chen Yufei was, after all, seriously injured. 

After just two exchanges, her stamina began to fail.

Qin Yu seized the opening and thrust her mo dao directly at Chen Yufei’s left chest.

Chen Yufei’s sturdy armor was as brittle as a cookie before Qin Yu’s modao. 

It was pierced through in one blow, exposing Chen Yufei’s vulnerable chest.

Qin Yu urged her horse forward, and the blade completely penetrated Chen Yufei’s left chest, with only the hilt exposed.

Qin Yu could even feel Chen Yufei’s fading heartbeat through the hand holding the blade.

Chen Yufei’s head tilted back, a trace of blood seeped from the corner of her mouth, and she slowly closed her eyes.

Qin Yu pulled the modao out of her body. 

Chen Yufei, like an ordinary ornament, wobbled twice and fell straight off the horse.

Luo Shangyu came to Qin Yu’s side. 

She had witnessed the entire fight.

“She was a warrior,” she said in a deep voice.

“Did we win?” Qin Yu looked at Luo Shangyu and asked.

“We won…” Luo Shangyu said slowly, looking at Chen Yufei’s army being slaughtered in the distance.

It had grown dark. 

Qin Yu and Luo Shangyu gathered their troops. 

Of the 40,000-strong army, only 30,000 remained, with heavy casualties. 

Chen Yufei’s forces, having lost their commander with the command system in complete collapse, numbered less than a few thousand.

Chen Yufei’s deputy general, seeing that they were unable to continue fighting, chose to surrender to Qin Yu and Luo Shangyu.

“The military exercise should end now…” Luo Shangyu looked up at the sky and said leisurely.

A buzzing sound came. 

Chen Yufei slowly opened her eyes, looking at the lid of the simulation pod. 

Her chest still ached faintly.

She touched her chest. 

The smooth skin looked especially sleek in the viscous liquid.

The fluid around her was slowly draining away. 

The buzzing of the main console outside the simulation pod was gradually quieting down.
