Why was everyone taking photos?
An Yu held the writing board through her sleeve and unconsciously tilted her head slightly.
But it probably didn’t matter.
She had heard that when you cosplay at a place like this, you were supposed to get your photo taken, right?
Watching the massive crowd gradually gathering around her, An Yu blinked silently.
Her purple contact-enhanced eyes held not the slightest trace of emotion.
“Mm… Ning Dongli is taking so long.”
Meanwhile, not far away, Ning Dongli had successfully bought two drinks.
But she never expected that in the short time she had turned away, a huge crowd would form behind her.
In an instant, Ning Dongli grew anxious.
Her heartbeat sped up rapidly.
The crowd terrified her.
And that wasn’t all—because of how short she was, even when she jumped she couldn’t spot An Yu.
Her instincts told her An Yu hadn’t moved from her original spot.
So she had to push through this sea of people to find her An Yu.
Ning Dongli gripped the two drinks tightly and swallowed subconsciously.
Gulp.
This was really too much for her.
She was someone who got scared just seeing people, yet now she had to face so many of them alone.
Originally, she had just wanted to prove to An Yu that she had the courage to go out on her own.
But she hadn’t expected to underestimate An Yu’s charm.
In just that short while, things had turned out like this!
Ah… damn it, damn it, what should she do?
With her small frame, it would be hard enough to squeeze through, not to mention she didn’t even dare to try.
What to do, what to do!
Would An Yu… be scared being alone over there?
She subconsciously began to imagine herself in An Yu’s position—if she had been left alone and surrounded by so many people.
She would be scared.
She would be terrified.
No, no, she couldn’t waver, she couldn’t be afraid. She had to go save An Yu!
The more Ning Dongli thought about it, the more worked up she became.
Thanks to her overly active imagination, she started worrying about An Yu’s safety.
However, An Yu really didn’t need her to worry.
Because An Yu felt nothing at all. She handled everything naturally.
Whether it was taking photos or group shots, An Yu never let others affect her mood.
But Ning Dongli didn’t know that. She was simply worried about An Yu.
“Mm… An Yu, don’t be scared… Wait for me!”
Filled with fighting spirit, flames seemed to burn in Ning Dongli’s eyes—all of it for the sake of rescuing An Yu.
“Please, please… let me through. The one inside is my friend!”
Unfortunately, she failed before she could even begin.
She still couldn’t overcome her fear of people.
Like a soft, squishy little cake, she could only stand outside and worry helplessly.
Her voice was too soft for anyone to hear, and she couldn’t squeeze through.
“Huh? There’s another one over here?”
Ning Dongli subconsciously looked up and saw a black-haired, red-eyed girl staring at her in surprise.
She was cosplaying the same series as her, and she looked quite pretty.
“Are you… trying to get a photo with the one in the middle?”
The black-haired girl looked at the anxious Ning Dongli and gave her an understanding smile.
After finally seeing such a beautiful cosplayer, of course she would want a photo together.
Though speaking of which, these two together would probably look even better.
“W-What…”
Facing a stranger, Ning Dongli stuttered. “I-I…”
She didn’t know what to say.
Fortunately, the other girl didn’t ask too many questions.
“Alright, I get it! I’ll take you inside!”
With that, the black-haired girl began pushing Ning Dongli through the crowd while shouting:
“Make way, make way! This is a friend of the one inside!”
Although she didn’t actually know if Ning Dongli and An Yu knew each other, their looks were similar enough that saying they were friends would convince most people.
Sure enough, many people stepped aside after seeing Ning Dongli’s face.
Ning Dongli followed awkwardly behind her, her head lowering more and more.
There were too many people, and many of them were staring at her.
She felt an extremely unpleasant sensation that made her feel like she was about to have a breakdown.
Wuu… An Yu…
She really wanted to find An Yu…
Her anthropophobia made her subconsciously want to rely on An Yu, but An Yu wasn’t by her side.
Ning Dongli could only keep lifting her head to search.
Guided by the black-haired girl, she finally parted the crowd and saw An Yu standing at the center, holding her writing board.
The other girl didn’t look uncomfortable at all. Instead, she seemed quite at ease.
The moment An Yu saw Ning Dongli, she raised a hand in greeting.
In that instant, Ning Dongli’s eyes filled with relief. She had finally found her beloved An Yu again.
The corners of Ning Dongli’s lips curved up into a genuine smile.
Her eyes contained only the other girl’s figure, leaving no room for anything else.
“There you go, I’ve delivered you. You two…”
The black-haired girl trailed off halfway through her sentence. She had suddenly noticed Ning Dongli’s gaze.
Those eyes could only hold the girl in the center.
She was completely filled with her.
If there were an award for the most affectionate gaze, the black-haired girl would definitely vote for Ning Dongli.
She had never seen such a look before.
Almost subconsciously, the black-haired girl took out her phone, aimed it at Ning Dongli, and captured the moment.
It also included An Yu’s reaction from not far away.
One waving in greeting, the other staring intently…
So they really did know each other?!
The black-haired girl blinked in surprise.
It seemed that beautiful people were destined to have beautiful friends too.
“Alright, alright, now that you two have reunited!”
The black-haired girl smiled and spoke softly. Hearing her words, Ning Dongli finally realized something.
She broke into a run toward An Yu.
In almost an instant, Ning Dongli had rushed to An Yu’s side.
“I finally found you!”
The fear and relief in her heart reacted at the same time.
Completely ignoring the gazes of others, she threw herself into An Yu’s arms.
“Mm, Ning Dongli?”
Looking at the somewhat emotional Ning Dongli, An Yu had no idea what had happened.
She had only gone to buy drinks, right?
Still, even without knowing what happened, An Yu silently hugged the girl back and gently stroked her head.
“You did very well, Ning Dongli.”
Although she didn’t know exactly what had occurred, An Yu knew that Ning Dongli must have tried hard.
A child who worked hard deserved praise.
“Wuu…”
This nearly made Ning Dongli cry.
But she held it back. Her heartbeat, however, refused to calm down.
She held up the two drinks in her hands and forced a bright, satisfied smile.
“An Yu, An Yu, I bought two signature drinks. Which one do you want?”
Looking at the girl smiling radiantly in front of her, An Yu was momentarily dazed.
The corners of her lips lifted into a faint, almost imperceptible arc as she said softly:
