“Helgort…”
Man En called out in his Spiritual Space, but the space showed no response.
Countless clocks began to dissipate, revealing the space’s original pure white background. It was as if the person Man En had spoken of never existed.
“I’m sorry…”
The space grew increasingly blurry, and Man En’s consciousness returned to his body.
Looking outside the cell, he saw Kan Bei Er kneeling on the ground. His reverent demeanor was as if facing a god he worshipped.
“What are you doing?”
“May I ask what the Holy Son commands?”
“Holy Son? What does that mean?”
“Please allow me to raise my head and explain to you.”
Due to Helgort’s disappearance, Man En felt extremely irritable and just wanted to end the conversation quickly.
“Speak.”
“In this world, only those who can fully recite the name of our Supreme God are called the Holy Son.”
Kan Bei Er looked up and said seriously to Man En.
“Alright, I understand. Go do your own things for now. I’m a bit tired.”
“This subordinate takes his leave.”
It seemed Helgort had only skipped time, but what happened afterward hadn’t changed. That was why, even though he hadn’t finished reciting the name, Kan Bei Er called him the Holy Son. He had avoided danger and gained benefits. Was this considered exploiting a bug? But regardless, it seemed he didn’t need to worry about the Heretic God Sect side for now. Moreover, the position of Holy Son seemed rather high-ranking. He might even be able to use them to achieve certain goals? But he’d set those aside for now.
Man En activated Holy Light with full force. After a long while, the chains binding him were glowing red from the high heat. He gave a hard yank and finally broke free from his restraints as desired. Instantly, Mana began to slowly flow into his body.
“Though its power is weak, there are advantages to weakness. If not for this skill, I probably wouldn’t have been able to break free.”
He closed his eyes again and arrived at that pure white Space of Consciousness. With a thought from him, two black shadows slowly took shape. They were the phantoms of Mei and Dulufu. Looking at these two phantoms, for some reason, Man En’s eyes grew a little moist. He lowered his head and smiled, silently swearing to himself.
“Helgort, wait for me. I will definitely restore you.”
“Hah!”
Man En let out a long breath, and his gaze grew resolute.
“Then, let’s begin!”
In his hand, a dagger instantly materialized, and he charged straight at the two phantoms.

Meanwhile, with Dulufu, Mei and Dan Luo were sitting in a carriage leaving Campbell City.
“That Man En, he really turned traitor just like that.”
Dan Luo said bitterly from the side, clearly very displeased.
“Mr. Dan Luo, Master Man En must have his reasons. Please don’t speak of him like that.”
Dan Luo looked at Mei, and anger flared up inside him for no reason.
“How can you still defend him at this point? Didn’t you hear what he said? Maybe he’s just after Kan Bei Er’s daughter’s good looks…”
“I’ll say this one last time: shut up!”
Mei looked at Dan Luo, her pupils beginning to redden, and her killing intent couldn’t be contained.
Dulufu saw the situation going wrong and quickly stepped in to mediate.
“Dan Luo, shut up. Don’t you think about who saved you? Wasn’t it Lord Man En?”
“Well… yes.”
His momentum immediately deflated.
“Then do you trust Master Man En, Mr. Dulufu?”
“I do trust him, but…”
Dulufu hesitated, unsure whether to tell the situation on the mercenary group side.
“But the Griffin Mercenary Corps has started to suspect him. Because on that Heretic God Sect puppet, they found a letter signed by Lord Man En.”
“You said… a letter?”
Mei looked at Dulufu in shock, even standing up in agitation.
“That was a warning letter to Lord Viscount! Didn’t you read the contents?”
“We read it… but what does that prove? It’s not enough to clear his suspicion.”
Dulufu, knowing he was in the wrong, said while lowering his head.
“But I’ve decided to help him. I just can’t let the mercenary corps know.”
“After all, Lord Man En saved my life. He’s a sincere person.”
“Please take me with you. I also want to do my part for Master Man En!”
Mei said firmly, nodding to Dulufu.
“Um…”
Dan Luo said quietly from the side, looking a bit embarrassed.
“I shouldn’t have insulted Man En. So, even if it’s just to make amends, count me in too.”
Dulufu looked at the two, smiled, and nodded.
“But seriously, if Dan Luo and I lose our jobs, Miss Maid, you’ll have to persuade Lord Man En to hire us, okay?”
“Mm, leave it to me.”
Mei patted her chest and generously agreed to Dulufu’s request.
“Good, then let’s cut the chatter. I’ll explain Lord Man En’s plan…”
—
At Campbell Castle, Li En’s room.
“Lord Ge Rui En? If I recall, your task was to organize an investigation into whether there were any people from the Griffin Mercenary Corps in the vicinity. So what business do you have coming to my place now?”
Li En slowly turned around, staring at Duke Campbell, who had abruptly appeared in the room.
“Don’t be so cold, Lord Li En. I just came to check on your condition, nothing more.”
As she spoke, Campbell dispelled the Disguise Magic on her face, revealing her original appearance.
“Oh? Are you trying to break the contract? Should I take this as a provocation?”
Instantly, the space began to warp, and the two’s killing intent erupted violently.
“Taking you back right now seems like a good idea, doesn’t it?”
“Heh, interesting. If you’re tired of living, by all means try!”
The next moment, Ge Rui En charged at Li En at incredible speed. A pitch-black short knife reached his neck in an instant.
“Coincidentally, I was just thinking the same.”
With a loud crash, Li En was sent flying. Behind him, Ge Rui En pursued relentlessly.
Li En looked above Ge Rui En, and with a shift in his gaze, the space around Ge Rui En began to rapidly compress inward.
But the next instant, Ge Rui En’s figure vanished. Then, Li En felt his vision go black as something was thrown onto his face. The sound of a blade cutting through air followed immediately. It actually shook his ears so much that blood seeped out.
“It’s over! Seems easier than I thought.”
But reality quickly shattered Ge Rui En’s confidence.
The blade stopped just an inch in front of Li En, unable to advance any further no matter what. With the sound of metal shattering, the pitch-black short knife broke into several pieces.
“How is this possible?”
Sensing the anomaly in the surrounding space, Ge Rui En immediately retreated.
“Want to leave? Then die here!”
As soon as the words fell, a pressure like the sky falling bore down on Ge Rui En.
“Earth… Earth Burrowing!”
“Hmph! Naive!”
Even though Ge Rui En burrowed into the ground, the immense pressure not only didn’t decrease but began to increase.
But just as she was about to be crushed, all the pressure inexplicably vanished.
Ge Rui En naturally wouldn’t let this opportunity slip. She immediately emerged from underground and, while Li En was still stunned, sliced off one of his arms.
However, she didn’t linger to fight. Under Li En’s gaze, she left with the severed arm, striding away triumphantly.
