After nightfall, the Target Range Knight Order couldn’t find a town to rest in and could only camp in a nearby forest.
Niubao finally got a chance to show off her skills. She pulled out a complete set of high-end camping tools from her Ruby Ring, set up a large tent right there, and even set up a stove to start cooking, with every seasoning imaginable on hand.
The surrounding knights were all dumbfounded. They had never seen storage equipment like this before.
Niubao lit a bonfire outside and continued bustling about, while the other knights could only watch in stunned amazement.
It was a beautiful display of “technological dominance.”
Samimi sat inside the tent, basking in the envious gazes.
“You guys have to gnaw on field rations, but we get to eat stir-fried dishes and stewed meat soup. This is living.”
It wasn’t a lavish feast, but for a wilderness camp, it was the ultimate treatment.
After riding horses all day with sore backs and stiff legs, being able to enjoy a hot meal was pure bliss.
The Target Range Knight Order grew more aware that these two Saint-tier figures were anything but ordinary, far surpassing local knights like themselves. Naturally, they dared not voice any objections.
Still, the most puzzling thing was—why was there a Beastman Nun?
Half-Beasts were common throughout the West Sea, mostly doing low-level labor or servant work, low in status and long exploited.
And if there was one organization best at exploitation and most guilty of racial discrimination, it was the Church.
Yet here the Church had a Beastman Saint within its ranks.
It was hard to wrap their heads around.
But traveling on the road, questions like this would inevitably spark conflict sooner or later.
The next day, the Target Range Knight Order continued their journey and arrived at a nameless town.
Along the way, all the townsfolk stared at the Beastman nun riding a horse, their expressions shocked, even frozen.
“People here aren’t used to seeing Half-Beasts on horseback,” Old Knight Rayne explained.
“What’s with those looks?” Samimi frowned.
“It’s because horses generally have a natural wariness of Half-Beasts, they get spooked easily and don’t like being ridden by them.”
“I see.”
Samimi nodded. She’d originally thought it was just simple racial discrimination, a ban on Half-Beasts riding horses.
“Of course, many lords have also outright forbidden Half-Beasts from riding horses,” Rayne added.
“I figured.”
Samimi’s interest was piqued.
Thinking back, whether in the South or the West Sea, Half-Beasts were everywhere—adventurers, servants—but very few on horseback.
In the Royal City, they were almost nonexistent.
But Niubao not only could ride, the horse was very affectionate toward her, and her riding skill was even better than Samimi’s.
Could it really be “like attracts like”?
The Target Range Knight Order reached the town center.
“Slap! Slap! Slap!”
Rapid footsteps sounded, and a group of middle-aged knights suddenly surrounded them from all sides.
“Damn, it’s the Fat Duck Knight Order!” the Deputy Knight Leader exclaimed. “Their master has a territorial dispute with ours.”
“Stay calm. We have a high-level command letter; they wouldn’t dare act rashly,” Rayne said.
Samimi was inwardly mocking the name “Fat Duck Knight Order” when a knight in specially oversized fat armor stepped forward, his face covered in thick flesh, speaking arrogantly:
“Rayne, what a coincidence. What are you doing here? This is my turf!”
“Mondo, we’re on a lord’s mission. I suggest you don’t start trouble. If something goes wrong, even your master won’t be able to clean it up,” Rayne replied coldly.
“Scared of you? Do I look like I was born yesterday? You’re not leaving until we get this straight!”
“I have nothing to explain, and you have no right to ask, even if your master came himself.”
The two sides squared off, swords drawn and tension high.
The locals scurried away to watch from a distance as a conflict seemed imminent.
Samimi stood to the side, smiling as she watched, with no intention of getting involved.
She felt like she was sitting in the “spectator seats,” enjoying an NPC-driven plot performance up close.
Not long ago, she’d faced enemies on the scale of Abyss Insects, Magic Sword Red, and the Centipede Worm King, even taking part in the great war to encircle the Abyss.
Now, she was watching local knights squabble over territory.
The stakes had plummeted from an epic battlefield to petty everyday squabbles.
She couldn’t even be bothered to comment, just wanting to watch quietly.
It felt like the plot had shifted to another trope—
[Unstoppable Flow].
Now, Samimi and Niubao were overwhelmingly powerful, utterly dominating the entire region, with almost no rivals.
The core of this setup wasn’t about winning—it was about how to “pretend to be weak.”
If done poorly, the protagonist would just seem foolish.
Samimi even wondered if there were any strong fighters in the West Sea like the Hero Sword Saint or the Twin Heroes.
It didn’t seem likely.
These local knights weren’t even worthy of her making a serious move.
Using magic on them would be like using a cannon to kill a mosquito.
“Hey, since when did you guys have Saint-tier people? Who’s this? And why is there a filthy Half-Beast on a horse? When did you become the Church’s lapdogs?”
Mondo taunted loudly.
“Shut up! Don’t you dare insult Miss Shalum!” a young knight shouted angrily.
“Who asked you to talk?”
Seizing the opportunity, Mondo ordered his men to surround them, intending to drag the Target Range knights off their horses.
“Captain Rayne, I just realized your group’s names are quite interesting,” Samimi said with a smile.
“Now’s not the time for that, Miss Shalum. Please step back; we’ll protect you,” Rayne urged.
But it was too late.
A Fat Duck knight leered and reached out to touch Samimi’s black-stockinged leg.
Just as his fingers were about to make contact—
A strong “cow hand” grabbed his wrist.
“Crack!”
A crisp sound of bone breaking rang out.
Niubao merely applied a little force and crushed his wrist instantly.
“Ah—!”
The knight screamed and collapsed, writhing on the ground.
The whole scene fell silent.
What had started as a minor skirmish between knight orders had escalated into a serious injury incident.
Even more shocking—
That Beastman nun had just been on the horse a moment ago, and the next second, she was already in front of her target, moving so fast it was incomprehensible.
Her movements were fluid, and her strength terrifying, breaking bones right through armor.
Was she even human?
“Everyone, please don’t argue. Let’s keep the peace. We have no ill intentions; if there’s something to discuss, we can sit down and talk it over.”
Samimi smiled, her tone gentle.
But her angelic voice, juxtaposed with the screaming knight on the ground, sent chills down everyone’s spine.
And the silent Beastman nun beside her looked like a grim dark guardian.
If she could crush a wrist, she could just as easily crush a neck.
“[Healing Spell].”
Samimi raised her hand, and a healing orb flew out, landing on the knight’s wrist.
“Ah…”
The pain quickly subsided, and the wound mostly healed.
The frightened knight immediately knelt and kowtowed.
“I was out of line! I’m sorry! Thank you, Pastor, for saving me!”
He wasn’t stupid; he quickly understood the situation.
“Get up. Our Church always promotes peace, kindness, and sincerity. This is the new philosophy championed by Archbishop Samimi.”
Samimi said, pulling out her High-Level Saint Certificate to show.
Niubao followed suit, taking out her own certificate and copying the pose.
“She’s the first ever Beastman Holy Knight in the Holy Knight Order. You can imagine just how strong she must be to have made it into the order.”
“So, I advise you—don’t provoke her.”
“Holy Knight Order!?”
The knights erupted in shock, their faces full of disbelief.
