“Looks like… I really have become an old relic, huh?”
She looked down at her involuntarily trembling body and muttered self-deprecatingly.
Still, it wasn’t entirely her fault.
She didn’t dare use Demon Realm magic freely, and relying only on the limited human magic she had obtained through unorthodox means… while sufficient for most situations, it still wasn’t enough to dominate the battlefield.
After a brief rest, Dekalorin set off once more.
She had to locate the core totem, figure out their objective, and then… destroy it!
Meanwhile…
Movira was frantically darting around the town like a headless fly.
Due to her unfamiliarity with the area, her restricted power, and the fact that she was currently only a “shadow,” she had completely failed to keep up with Dekalorin.
With no other choice, she could only head toward the nine totem locations.
Along the way, she spotted many suspicious figures, which made her even more worried about Dekalorin.
“Seriously, she’s running way too fast…”
That foolish Saintess was still the same as back then.
Once she set her mind on something, she would charge straight in without any regard for potential dangers!
Did she think this was still the battlefield where she could rampage freely in her prime?!
Even though Movira was cursing Dekalorin to the depths of hell in her heart, she still had to go help her.
It wasn’t just because of that “old-era friendship” she was unwilling to admit existed, but more importantly, to protect Seraphina.
If things went wrong, Seraphina would definitely be affected.
Even though she was currently in “shadow” form, she could still clearly feel the gentle rhythm of Seraphina’s breathing and the warm breath brushing against her from the other side.
Damn it! At least give me some guidance or leave a damn marker!
Who was she? The majestic Demon King of the Demon Realm.
When had she ever been this frustrated?
Reduced to scurrying through shadows like a rat.
She secretly swore in her heart that if she found the mastermind behind this, she would stab a thousand holes in him!
She couldn’t use Demon Realm magic, and her human magic was heavily weakened because her main body wasn’t present.
The debuffs were stacked to the max!
The old square was located in a remote corner of the town.
Weeds grew wildly, and the broken statues twisted into eerie shadows under the moonlight.
Dekalorin slipped in silently and hid behind a half-collapsed low wall, her eyes locked onto the center of the square.
There, an enormous and complex totem, reeking of thick blood and ominous energy, was slowly “rising” from the ground.
It was far larger than any of the previous totems!
The dark red lines resembled massive blood vessels, as if they were growing directly out of the earth.
Around this totem stood three mages in black robes, positioned in a triangular formation.
Their staves pointed downward toward the center of the totem as they chanted incomprehensible incantations.
They were clearly removing the final sealing restrictions on the totem and infusing it with activation energy.
Additionally, dozens of well-equipped individuals—many armed with standard-issue weapons and armor—were scattered around the square on high alert.
These were clearly no ordinary thugs.
Just as expected…
Dekalorin’s heart tightened.
She didn’t know how long these people had been preparing for this day, but she knew she had to stop them!
Once the totem was activated, the consequences would be catastrophic!
She tried to look for Movira’s figure, but the other woman was nowhere to be seen.
It looked like she would have to handle this alone.
Truthfully, she hadn’t been counting on Movira to be of much help right now anyway…
The best-case scenario was that she could nip the danger in the bud.
By dawn, no one except her and Movira would know what had happened tonight.
With that mindset, she prepared herself for a fight with zero reinforcements.
Leaning against the stone wall, she exhaled slowly to suppress her fatigue.
A gentle, non-blinding light flashed. From within that radiance, she drew a heavy greatsword with a broad blade covered in glowing runes!
Then, she moved.
Instead of releasing any flashy magic, she simply charged forward and smashed straight through the low wall with her sword!
The impact sounded like a thunderclap.
Dekalorin shot forward like an arrow released from a bow.
The stone slabs beneath her feet cracked with every powerful step as her figure left afterimages behind her, charging directly toward the center of the square!
“Stop her!”
The subordinates were shocked but quickly reacted, raising their weapons.
The gleaming blades reflected a chilling light under the moonlight.
But Dekalorin gave them no chance to surround her.
Her greatsword swept out with overwhelming force in a simple yet domineering horizontal slash!
Boom—!
The few people at the front, along with their armor and weapons, were sent flying.
Clear sounds of bones breaking rang out!
At their wounds, holy light scorched the flesh, producing hissing sounds.
Dekalorin’s momentum didn’t stop.
She swung her heavy sword, slashing and chopping with each strike carrying immense power.
She tore a path straight through the crowd, charging toward the three mages.
One of the mages stared at her in horror as she advanced with her greatsword, radiating a ferocious aura, and immediately identified her.
“Is that… Dekalorin?!”
After all, she was the only person in the world who had learned magic yet fought like a knight or swordsman, while still possessing overwhelming offensive power.
“Quick, protect the formation!”
Another mage stopped chanting, thrust his staff into the ground, and raised a dark shadow shield.
“Get out of my way!”
Dekalorin snorted coldly from mid-air.
She raised her greatsword high, and holy light began gathering frantically along the blade, forming a massive sword of light!
NO MERCY!
The pitch-black shield was no match for absolute radiance.
The moment they made contact, the shield shattered with a sharp crack!
The mage maintaining the shield was blasted backward several steps by the impact, his internal organs screaming in protest.
Yet a flicker of delight flashed in his eyes.
Dekalorin didn’t give the other two mages any time to react.
The greatsword, which should have been incredibly heavy, felt as light as a feather in her hands, almost like an extension of her arm!
With a diagonal upward slash, she forced another mage attempting a sneak attack to dodge in panic.
Her greatsword danced impenetrably, leaving no room for the enemy to cast spells comfortably.
Although occasional weaker spells managed to graze her body, as long as they weren’t fatal, she ignored them completely.
This was her unique style—a close-combat, life-for-life fighting method she had been forced to develop back when facing Movira.
Every swing of her sword was infused with holy light, forcing the mages to constantly move and dodge, preventing them from chanting the powerful spells that required time to cast.
Even after all these years, her fighting style remained brutally savage…
