Lu Yunze realized he was still too inexperienced. After receiving the lead from Lin Ying, he began his action almost immediately, quietly slipping out of the Luo Family Residence and heading toward that suspicious bar.
Lu Yunze stood at the main entrance for a moment before deciding to head inside, where he was nearly swept away by the crowd.
After finally breaking free, he arrived at the counter, and the bartender immediately stepped up to ask what service he needed.
Looking at the wide array of items on the menu, Lu Yunze ordered a mid-priced drink and began observing his surroundings while he waited.
The first floor showed no obvious clues; the lighting was so dim that even if there were suspicious figures inside, he would not be able to spot them immediately.
“Here you go, sir, this is the drink you ordered.” The bartender pushed the cocktail over with a smile.
Lu Yunze pretended to taste the drink carefully, then the bartender spoke again:
“It seems you came here alone, sir. We also offer escort services so you can have someone to drink and chat with until you leave.”
I hope it is just simple drinking and chatting.
In a place like this, Lu Yunze was truly worried that if he kept chatting, he would be drugged by something in the drink.
If he were to wake up, he would likely become a hostage used to threaten the Luo Family for money… If that actually happened, Lu Yunze felt that even if he were rescued, he would have no face left to see the others in the Luo Family.
“No thank you, I prefer to be alone.”
“Understood, I will not disturb you further, sir.”
After the bartender turned and walked away, the smile vanished from his face, and he picked up a walkie-talkie:
“A suspicious guy just arrived on the first floor. Investigate his identity immediately and see if he is a cop in disguise.”
After sipping his drink a few times, Lu Yunze planned to leave the first floor and check out the upstairs.
It was exactly then that he keenly noticed a few “waiters” making their way through the crowd, surrounding him in a stealthy manner.
Lu Yunze only hesitated for a brief moment before he sprinted up the stairs.
As expected, those “waiters” immediately accelerated and quickly caught up to the second floor.
I was actually found out?
It was the first time in Lu Yunze’s life that he had tried to play at stealth, and it had taken only a little over 10 minutes from walking in the door to being hunted down.
The “waiter” trailing behind him actually pulled a silenced handgun from his jacket.
“Hey, stop right there!”
He pulled the trigger directly at Lu Yunze.
The bullet grazed his ear and left a clear hole in the wall.
They are actually using firearms out in the open?
Lu Yunze moved even faster, leaving them behind in short order.
Fortunately, it seemed the other side did not want to make a scene about the intruder, otherwise, it would not have been so easy for him to shake off his pursuers.
Even so, as they locked down the entire floor, Lu Yunze was forced to keep moving to avoid patrols, occasionally bumping into small squads and having no choice but to fight directly.
When there were only 2 or 3 of them, he would strike without hesitation to take them out quickly, keeping the noise to a minimum so he could continue hiding his location.
“Whew, I suppose I should just keep heading upstairs.”
Just as Lu Yunze clapped his hands together, preparing to move on, a voice came from behind him—
“Found him, that guy is right there!!”
Again?!
Lu Yunze had originally wanted to use his fists to shut them up, but after seeing a row of hollow gun barrels pointed at him, he chose the more reliable method—run!
But, where else could he go?
Just then, a small gap appeared in the door of a private room ahead, and a small, fair hand reached out, gesturing for him to come in.
Lu Yunze did not even think; he rushed straight inside.
“Where is he?”
“That leads to a dead end, search the rooms one by one, we will find him eventually.”
“Agreed, check your ammunition, don’t let him run out again.”
The killers disguised as waiters began chambering rounds into their silenced pistols and started clearing the rooms one by one.
Some rooms contained only guests, while others were completely empty.
That meant—only one room was left.
The killers stood at the door, exchanged a glance, and then slammed the door open to rush inside.
Just as they raised their guns to fire, they froze upon clearly seeing the scene inside.
“Brother, I… I am so tired. Brother, be a little faster…”
On the sofa, a man and a woman were tangled together.
The girl was wearing a waiter’s uniform—short skirt, black stockings, and high heels—and was currently riding on top of the man, her long purple hair swaying gently with her movements.
She twisted her waist while letting out rapid, breathless gasps.
Because of the cover provided by the sofa back, they could not see the details, but they could clearly see her hands pressed against the man’s chest in an intimate gesture.
The moment the killers burst in, the girl stopped moving and let out a sharp cry.
“Hey! Why did you stop? What are you doing? Shut the door and get out! Didn’t I say nobody was allowed in? Do you want me to report you?”
“S-sorry!”
The killers hurriedly closed the door, their expressions stiff.
Once silence returned to the room, both of them let out a sigh of relief.
Lu Yunze, who had been pinned underneath, sat up immediately, nearly causing the girl to fall off the sofa.
“Ow, how rude. Even though I saved you, couldn’t you be a little more gentle?” Jiang Sui pouted.
“Couldn’t you have used a more normal method?” Lu Yunze recalled the scene from a moment ago, his heartbeat quickening.
“It was an emergency, and instead of a thank you, you’re scolding me? Lu Yunze, is that how you treat your savior?”
Half a month later, and the “Hidden One” still had such a sharp tongue.
Furthermore, her method of saving someone was truly hard to accept.
Jiang Sui picked up the stockings from the table, put them back on, and deliberately stretched her foot out in front of Lu Yunze.
“I made such a big sacrifice, yet you still treat me with a cold face?”
She gave a faint smile, her tone playful:
“But even if your face is cold, something hot was pressing into me earlier; your body is still quite honest.”
By the time she finished, even she could not help but blush.
“Go away, don’t mess with me.” Lu Yunze pushed her foot away, turning his face aside, “What are you doing here?”
“I should be asking you that. If it weren’t for Jiang Sui, I wouldn’t have bothered saving you.”
The girl hummed, rising from the sofa to straighten her uniform.
“I am naturally here to investigate this place,” Lu Yunze said.
“What a coincidence, so am I.”
She finished adjusting her skirt, not in a rush to put on her shoes, but instead climbed back onto the sofa and approached him step by step.
Until she had backed Lu Yunze into a corner, she leaned her body forward like a cat, revealing a playful smile.
The refreshing fragrance on the girl made Lu Yunze feel slightly flustered, but her words pulled him back to reality:
“Since our goals are the same, why not cooperate?”
Lu Yunze’s gaze moved downward involuntarily—her neckline was slightly open from their “act” earlier.
He quickly withdrew his gaze.
“Better not.”
“I just don’t want to cooperate with you, the last time was also a forced necessity.”
Lu Yunze felt instinctively that nothing good would come from getting mixed up with her, and this “Hidden One” clearly harbored hostility toward the Luo Family; she was a dangerous person.
If it were not for the sake of Jiang Sui, he would have attacked already.
Jiang Sui whispered, “It was an emergency…” then laughed.
Lu Yunze ignored her and walked straight to the door.
Cooperate? What a joke.
Lu Yunze would never change his mind, not even if he died.
As soon as he opened the door, he saw more and more killers gathering outside.
He almost locked eyes with them.
Bang!
He slammed the door shut and leaned his back against the door panel.
Jiang Sui sprawled over the back of the sofa, swinging her legs as she watched him:
“What is wrong, Lu Yunze? Are you not leaving? Don’t tell me you are scared?”
Lu Yunze took a deep breath and sat back down on the sofa.
“So, do you have any way to help me avoid them?”
Jiang Sui was not surprised at all and switched to a semi-reclined position, resting her two long legs directly on his lap.
“I suddenly remembered that I still have some old injuries that never healed from when we dealt with the Mistmaster last time.”
She blinked her eyes:
“Can you help me massage my legs?”
Lu Yunze was silent for a second, then said heavily:
“…Fine.”
Jiang Sui rested her chin in her hand, smiling to herself:
I love watching that expression on your face.
Ten minutes later, a male waiter came to the door of the private room and knocked.
“Sir, the drink you ordered has arrived.”
After entering, he only saw Jiang Sui sitting on the sofa alone.
She beckoned to him with her finger:
“Thank you for the delivery.”
“Huh?”
Bang.
The door closed.
Lu Yunze, who had been hiding behind the door, appeared, rubbing his fists as he walked slowly toward the unlucky fool who had fallen into the trap.
