Granny Qian leaned against her bamboo stool, a blue and white porcelain bowl resting steadily on her knees.
Hearing this, she slowly raised her eyes.
“For the soul damage, I have already prepared a solution for you.”
She paused, her voice carrying a hint of gravity.
“However, to fully recover, you must still go to Hundred Flowers Town and combine it with the Hundred Flowers Dew.”
“Hundred Flowers Town? Which way do we go?”
Mu Yingying asked hurriedly, her eyes bright and filled with anticipation.
Granny Qian lifted the porcelain bowl and took a sip of water before continuing.
“Head east.”
“There is a place where a hundred flowers are always in bloom; that is Hundred Flowers Town.”
“Artisans gather there, and while news travels fast, it is also a dangerous place.”
“You must find the beekeeper within, and it must be a master of the craft.”
“Only they can formulate the true Hundred Flowers Dew.”
She explained patiently, not forgetting to warn the three of them about the perils of the journey.
“However, there are conditions for outsiders to enter the town.”
“What conditions?”
“They don’t take money; they take labor.”
“You must help the town with work before you can get in.”
Little Frost silently kept this information in her heart.
White Night stayed quietly in the basket, listening to them talk, and felt much more settled.
Having a direction was better than running around like a headless fly.
Mu Yingying chewed on a cracker, wiped the corner of her mouth, and asked casually.
“Granny, have you ever seen other powerful artisans before?”
“I mean ones with unique abilities.”
“I have.”
Granny Qian’s tone was flat.
“I once knew a tailor whose scissors could cut through spatial rifts.”
“People could crawl inside to reach other fragmented worlds, but I don’t know where he drifted off to later.”
“There was also a pharmacist who could cook anything into medicine.”
“When he tried to cook himself, he was surrounded by little lantern ghosts and eaten until not even a scrap was left.”
She spoke of these mind-boggling past events without a single change in her tone.
Mu Yingying felt her heart tighten.
A tailor cutting open space, a pharmacist stewing himself? These abilities were simply inconceivable.
The two aunts felt their determination to learn mechanics grow even firmer.
If they became artisans, they would have more powerful strength to protect White Night.
“By the way, Granny Qian, what was the preparation method you mentioned just now?”
“You haven’t told us yet.”
Little Frost was very concerned about healing White Night and urged her to explain.
Granny Qian carefully took a small porcelain bottle from her bosom.
This bottle was only as large as a palm, yet it was made of the finest jade.
The bottle emitted a warm, greenish luster, and the contents within were extraordinary.
“This is a treasure passed down by my master, called Ten Thousand Moistening Oil.”
Granny Qian stroked the surface of the bottle with affection.
“If this oil is applied to the vehicle, it can nourish and heal its soul.”
“Of course, if combined with the Hundred Flowers Dew, its soul can be completely healed.”
The eyes of both aunts lit up at the same time, and they reached out to take it.
But when they saw the other also extending a hand, they couldn’t help but glare at one another.
“What are you reaching for? You’re so clumsy; let me do it!”
“If you mess this up, you better believe I’ll punch you to death!”
Little Frost threatened.
“What’s so great about you, you big fat butt with all that strength!”
Mu Yingying grumbled dissatisfiedly, but she could only shrink her hand back regretfully.
She was truly afraid that Little Frost might actually punch her to death.
“Whatever, bear it for a moment and the sea will be wide and the sky will be clear…”
Mu Yingying muttered to herself.
Granny Qian looked at their behavior and her face twitched, but she didn’t say anything more.
She simply placed the small porcelain bottle steadily on the workbench.
“So, shall we go apply the oil now?”
“Are we going to apply the oil to Little White Night?”
Mu Yingying asked excitedly.
“No! You haven’t even learned how to repair the vehicle yet, and you’re already going to waste the Ten Thousand Moistening Oil. That is a total outrage!”
Granny Qian said with a stern face.
“You will learn from me first; learn to fix the vehicle. You will be learning for a full day today.”
“I will be leaving, so how much you can learn depends on your own skill and aptitude.”
“You all better take this seriously!”
“I will teach you everything I know, but your talents are simply too poor.”
“How much you learn will depend entirely on how hard you work to compensate for your lack of skill.”
“Then let me smash this vehicle into pieces so we can fix it,” Little Frost said as she nodded, donned her gloves, and swung her fist to smash a rickshaw into a complete mess.
Granny Qian watched from the side, not stopping her, but instead speaking up.
“Smash it up even more. No matter how badly smashed it is, I can repair it.”
“If you want to learn, you have to start by repairing a vehicle that has been smashed to bits.”
“This way you can see things more clearly and understand more thoroughly.”
“Understood, Granny Qian.”
Little Frost continued to swing her fist, crash, crash, smashing the rickshaw until it was unrecognizable.
While she was at it, she glanced at Mu Yingying.
Mu Yingying shrank her neck and hummed in dissatisfaction.
That big fat butt was threatening her again; had she sensed that she wanted to swipe the oil?
After the vehicle was smashed, Granny Qian began to repair it.
“Can this really be fixed? It’s smashed so badly…”
Mu Yingying couldn’t help but whisper.
“Are you doubting my skills?”
Granny Qian scoffed, and to prove herself, she immediately set to work.
She began to repair the wreckage of the smashed item.
Furthermore, she intended to repair this rickshaw into a bicycle, identical to the one Little White Night had.
“You two, watch closely!”
Granny Qian said with a stern face.
Granny Qian let out a huff and flicked both hands, and the pile of rickshaw debris suddenly flew up into the air with a rattle.
The parts floated and rotated in mid-air.
“Watch closely!”
As soon as she finished speaking, her entire aura shifted drastically.
Her originally hunched back instantly straightened, and her withered, thin hands made a grasping motion in the void.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
A series of crisp yet thunderous sounds of impact exploded.
There was no hammer, no wrench, and she didn’t even touch the parts with her fingers.
Granny Qian only pointed her fingers in the air.
Those rusted spokes, distorted wheel rims, broken frames, and scattered bearings…
All of them flew, collided, and spliced together automatically in mid-air.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
The sound of the hammering grew more and more dense.
Little Frost and Mu Yingying opened their eyes wide, their heads unable to keep up with the speed of the parts.
“God… is this repairing a vehicle, or is this magic?!”
Mu Yingying opened her mouth wide, and her voice wavered in pitch.
Little Frost was also stunned, her eyeballs darting back and forth with the parts.
“Granny… this skill of yours… is just too…”
White Night’s soul body poked half of its head out from the basket, its little mouth hanging open in an ‘o’ shape as it watched.
“Granny… it’s too fast! My eyes can’t keep up…”
The three of them called out at the same time.
“Slower! A bit slower!!”
“Granny, please slow down!! We can’t see clearly!!”
Granny Qian huffed, and her movements did indeed slow down, but the air of pride about her was still unmistakable.
