Enya had nothing to do, so she tidied up the house a bit.
She even prepared fresh clothes for Rosily and Estelle to change into after their bath, stacking them neatly on the bathroom bench.
After finishing these chores, she waited in the living room for a moment.
As if anticipating something, she walked to the front door and stepped out into the front yard.
The carriage had just come to a stop.
Even before the carriage driver could step down from the seat, the door was pushed open.
Rosily was the first to step out, followed by Elqi.
The clothes on both of them were full of tears, and they looked quite disheveled.
However, Rosily didn’t look bothered; instead, she was very happy to see Enya.
But today, she seemed to be carrying some kind of burden, as she didn’t immediately throw herself onto Enya to replenish her mental energy.
‘This child…’
‘She’s usually so clingy, but she starts acting differently in front of her friends?’
Enya blinked, a gentle smile appearing on her face.
“Rosily, you brought a friend. Won’t you introduce her to Mother?”
“Um…”
Rosily turned to look at Elqi.
Elqi looked restrained and shy. She seemed very embarrassed to appear before Enya in her current state.
First impressions are often the most profound and can even become a person’s label.
Therefore, visiting a friend’s mother for the first time should definitely not involve wearing tattered clothes.
One must maintain an elegant posture and a clean, beautiful image when meeting someone for the first time.
This was what Elqi had been taught by her family.
It seemed she hadn’t managed that very well.
This was mostly because Rosily had dragged her along, giving her no chance to resist.
Or perhaps Elqi had been torn about whether to refuse, and before she could decide, she was already on the spot.
Elqi felt like she was breaking out in a cold sweat.
She lowered her head and spoke shyly.
“A-Auntie, hello…”
“Hello there. Don’t be so nervous, little girl. Treat this place like your own home.”
“By the way, you’re the Elqi that Rosily told me about, right?”
Enya smiled brightly. Her graceful figure, exquisite face, and maternal aura caused Elqi’s face to flush red.
‘She’s an elder… she’s an elder!’
Elqi replied shyly in a low voice.
“Okay, Auntie…”
“Wait, Mom, when did I say that?”
Rosily was puzzled. She didn’t remember mentioning Elqi to her mother.
Enya reached out and patted her daughter’s head.
“You said it in your sleep. I heard everything.”
Rosily’s watery eyes blinked in confusion, while Elqi lowered her head even further.
It was already shameful enough to meet her best friend’s mother looking so unpresentable.
To hear that Rosily not only dreamed about her, but that Auntie had overheard it…
AAAAAAAAAAAAAH— The shame!
The others on the carriage also got off at this time. Estelle slowly stepped down, followed by Susia, who was holding Lilith.
After stepping down, Estelle looked first at Enya, then at Rosily and Elqi. A hint of doubt flashed in her eyes.
‘Why did my sister bring that classmate here?’
‘Is it for sparring?’
‘If we spar in person, would the gains be greater than in the Bone World? Should I try it too?’
Estelle thought about these things as usual.
Susia’s pink eyes locked onto Enya the moment they met.
She scrutinized Enya from head to toe.
Her gaze was very blunt and undisguised.
A normal person would feel uncomfortable being stared at like that.
Even under such scrutiny, Enya’s expression remained unchanged.
She glanced at Susia and Lilith, then asked her eldest daughter, Estelle, in a very gentle tone.
“Estelle, who are they?”
“It’s Auntie.”
Estelle answered bluntly.
Enya smiled at Susia and repeated the words.
“Oh, so it’s your aunt.”
“…”
Susia froze for a moment. Once she realized what was happening, she responded with a smile.
“Hello. I am the sister of Estelle’s mother. It is a pleasure to meet Mrs. Phil. I actually came specifically to pay you a visit.”
The reason she came to Red Pine City was because she knew Estelle was staying here, looked after by a woman named Phil.
This was a decision made by Susia’s sister, Vivienne.
This naturally led to many questions. Who exactly was this woman, Phil?
Susia didn’t bother guessing.
She simply skipped school and sneaked over just to see this woman named Phil for herself.
“Mrs…”
Enya murmured the word, as if savoring the meaning behind Susia calling her that.
After greeting the carriage driver, she led the group into the house.
“Please, make yourselves at home.”
Upon entering, Rosily took Elqi to her room.
Enya told Estelle to take a bath first.
She obeyed obediently. Thus, only three people remained in the living room.
Enya moved back and forth in front of the kitchen stove, busy with preparations.
Today there were many people, so it would be harder than usual.
Susia sat on a chair by the dining table, holding Lilith, staring blankly at the graceful figure busily working.
After a while, Estelle finished her bath. She had changed out of her academy uniform and into a cool white dress.
Returning to the living room, she sat upright on a chair.
She looked at Enya and the others, watching the strange scene they formed.
‘What is the relationship between Auntie, Aunt Phil, and Mother?’
Estelle was puzzled, but she didn’t think too much about it. She closed her eyes and continued to refine her Magic Power.
Enya turned on the stove, stirred with a spoon, and covered the pot. Turning around, she happened to meet Susia’s gaze.
She gave a faint smile as a response to the long stare.
Susia watched as Enya approached, picked up Lilith from her arms, and placed her next to Estelle.
“…”
“We need to talk.”
Enya spoke indifferently and then turned to walk toward the backyard.
Under the curious gazes of Estelle and Lilith, Susia stood up and followed behind Enya.
Lilith wanted to follow, but Enya suddenly turned back and looked at her.
“Estelle, why don’t you play with little Lilith for a while? Take her to your room. Dinner will take some time.”
“Okay.”
Estelle was a good girl.
She opened her eyes, turned around, and caught Lilith, who was about to run away.
She held her the way Susia did and walked quickly toward the stairs.
Lilith puffed out her cheeks in anger.
She had come for Lady Phil; she didn’t want to sit at the kids’ table!
Susia glanced at the resentful Lilith, then at the beautiful lady’s back.
She pursed her lips and opened her arms, wanting to hug Enya from behind.
Unfortunately, Enya dodged.
Susia pouted, looking as if she were about to cry.
“Sister Enya…”
“…”
Enya didn’t respond. Once Estelle had taken Lilith away, she led Susia through the living room to the backyard.
The two stood on the backyard porch. Enya used the [Authority of the Dream World] to create a barrier to block out sound.
Only then did she turn to look at Susia. Without saying anything, she reached out and pinched Susia’s nose, giving it a sharp tug.
Enya glared at her and said with great displeasure.
“What are you doing? Do you want your sister to kill you?”
“How could that happen…”
Susia’s lips were turned up high. It wasn’t that she thought Vivienne wouldn’t hit her, but she didn’t think Vivienne would actually kill her.
Seeing that Enya wasn’t very happy to see her, Susia instead put on a smile and leaned close to Enya.
“Sister Enya, if you don’t tell and I don’t tell, how will my sister know?”
“…”
Enya felt a headache coming on as she looked at Susia’s pestering behavior.
She really wanted to throw Susia right out of Red Pine City.
Vivienne was easy to deal with.
As long as Enya said a few kind words or showed a bit of softness, she wouldn’t make things too difficult for Enya.
Susia, on the other hand, was hard to handle…
To put it simply, she was the type of sister who liked the “things her sister liked.”
Whatever her sister had, she wanted too.
Whatever her sister liked, she liked as well. She aimed to be exactly like her sister.
