“I found him!”
A crisp voice sliced through the noisy crowd in front of the Trial Tower.
Mo Qingqing was standing at the tower’s entrance, lost in thought as she held Su Yun’s small head. Hearing the commotion, she subconsciously looked up.
She saw three little girls — Su Miaomiao, Ning Die, and Chu Yu’er — walking quickly toward them.
Ning Die led the way, wearing a sharp, light blue mage robe with her long hair tied in a high ponytail. Her features carried a bright, heroic aura as she walked up to Mo Qingqing and gave a slight nod. “Hello, are you Su Yun’s master?”
Chu Yu’er followed beside her, dressed in a light pink gown while clutching a thick magic book. Her expression was gentle, and she stood quietly with a faint smile, giving off a very comfortable vibe.
Since Su Miaomiao had met Mo Qingqing a few times before, she wasn’t as restrained. She chirped, “Hello, Sister Mo Qingqing!”
Her little face was full of joy, her eyes sparkling. Her gaze kept drifting toward Su Yun, clearly having wanted to find him to play for a long time.
“Oh? You must be the friends Su Yun has been mentioning,” Mo Qingqing said, raising an eyebrow. A rare smile appeared on her usually cold face.
She looked down at Su Yun in her arms, a hint of amusement flashing in her eyes.
‘One is a friend’s child, one is the child of the original host, and another is a Dominator’s child… This little thing’s social skills are truly absurd.’
Not to mention the others.
Just take Ning Die, for example.
According to the rumors Mo Qingqing had heard, this girl was famous for being aloof and indifferent. Many people had been rejected by her. Yet, Su Yun had managed to get her to come to him of her own accord.
Held in her arms, Su Yun’s fluffy little ears twitched slightly. He looked up at his three companions with a bit of anticipation in his heart, yet he didn’t dare show it too clearly. He could only blink his eyes obediently.
Although he tried his best to suppress it, his body was that of a child. He still possessed a child’s temperament, even if he usually kept it well under control.
Just then, a slow voice drifted from behind the crowd, carrying a hint of lingering sleepiness.
“Don’t… run off so suddenly…”
The group looked toward the sound and saw Su Qiuyue walking slowly toward them.
She wore a moon-white mage robe with her long hair loosely pinned up. Her expression was lazy, but the aura radiating from her was far more powerful than before.
It was the pressure of a High Mage. Though it felt somewhat relaxed, it was very real.
Level 50.
She had successfully broken through to the High Mage realm and had even mastered the ability to swap between reality and illusion. She could sink her true body into a dreamscape while letting a dream clone walk through reality.
Therefore, the Su Qiuyue standing before them seemed awake, but her true body was actually deep within a dream, fast asleep.
“Cute little Su Yun~”
Su Qiuyue walked up, reached out, and gently patted Su Yun’s small head. The sensation beneath her fingertips was soft and fluffy, making her unable to resist ruffling it a few more times.
“Come over to my house to play with Miaomiao when you have time.”
The realistic touch and warm breath prevented Su Yun from noticing anything unusual. However, the Law he was faintly perceiving within his body trembled slightly at that moment, silently warning him.
The person in front of him was not a true living lifeform.
Su Yun was slightly startled. He looked up at Su Qiuyue, but she still wore that lazy, gentle expression, showing no flaws. He had no choice but to push down his doubts and nod obediently.
After petting Su Yun’s fluffy head for a while, Su Qiuyue finally looked up at Mo Qingqing and asked plainly, “The requirement for becoming a High Mage is sensing a Law. Haven’t you prepared yet?”
Hearing this, a deep meaning flashed in Mo Qingqing’s eyes. She nodded slightly. “…I’ve already decided to switch to the Path of Command.”
As soon as she said this, the surrounding air seemed to go silent for a moment.
Only Mo Qingqing knew that she had obtained a piece of vital information from the old mages at the academy that could change her destiny.
Every High Law had a unique way of advancement.
For example, the Life Law might require one to cultivate their own body to the Dominator level. But the Path of Command Law inevitably required one to command a Dominator.
If Su Yun could break through to the Transcendental rank first, then as a Mid-rank Mage, she could rely on the bond of commanding Su Yun across ranks to gain the favor of the Path of Command Law. This would allow her to receive the Law’s grace directly and comprehend a portion of its essence.
More importantly, when Su Yun eventually ascended and became a true Dominator, she would receive the complete Path of Command Law directly because she had the experience of commanding a Dominator!
Though a Law comprehended this way would have flaws…
While other Dominators needed only a few seconds to perfect their own Laws, she would need to spend dozens of years.
But even so, she would become a legitimate Dominator. This was an opportunity countless people dreamed of.
However, the previous Dominator of Command had fallen because an enemy caught a weakness during those few seconds of Law perfection.
If she wanted to avoid the same fate — if she wanted to compress those dozens of years of perfection time into a few milliseconds — she would have to borrow the power of the Sovereign of Time.
So, from the moment she decided to specialize in the Path of Command, she was tied to Su Yun for life. In the days to come, she would spare no effort in raising him.
Later today, she would find Lin Mo to ask about the feasibility of this plan.
While Mo Qingqing was lost in thought, Chu Yu’er stepped forward. She looked at Mo Qingqing and Su Yun, offering an invitation with anticipation in her voice. “The Trial Tower is open. We plan to head inside. Do you want to join us for the challenge?”
Su Yun immediately looked up at Mo Qingqing with puppy-dog eyes, his big tail wagging slightly behind him. He didn’t dare make the decision himself; everything depended on Mo Qingqing.
Mo Qingqing looked down at his sparkling eyes, and her heart softened.
She knew that keeping this little thing restricted by her side wasn’t beneficial for his growth. The Trial Tower was a good place; he could earn school credits and gain practical combat experience. Why not?
Furthermore, because their levels were different, they wouldn’t even use the same entrance.
She pondered for a moment before nodding slowly. “Go ahead. Have fun. If you can fight for first place, do it.”
“Thank you, Master!!”
Su Yun’s eyes lit up, and he nearly jumped out of Mo Qingqing’s arms.
Su Miaomiao was even more excited as she grabbed Su Yun’s hand. Ning Die and Chu Yu’er shared a smile. The four children chattered away as they quickly pulled Su Yun into the crowd in front of the Trial Tower.
“Su Yun, you have no idea how generous the rewards are this time!” Su Miaomiao held Su Yun’s hand, her pace fast and her face full of excitement.
“I heard from my sister that the rewards for the first twenty floors include rare materials in addition to credits! I also heard that the higher you go, the more absurd the rewards get. You might even find purple Soul Beads!”
