Chapter 187: Sleepy!

“Mm, here, here!  

Right, just like that, An Yu! Aim and throw it!”

Ning Dongli gripped the game controller in her hands, thoroughly enjoying the two-player game with An Yu.  

The two of them sat on the bed, not too far apart.

“Mm!”

Even An Yu’s tone rose unconsciously.  

It was clear the game was really fun.

However, although the game was enjoyable—and one she had wanted to play ever since buying it—Ning Dongli simply couldn’t focus her mind completely on the game.

She had been testing An Yu… but it was her big sister who ended up self-destructing.

She knew her older sister definitely had other feelings toward An Yu.

Ning Dongli still didn’t fully understand what An Yu meant by “like,” but if it were someone else, she might have thought it was just shyness.

But Ning Wanciu was different…

Ning Dongli knew her older sister very well.  

When she showed that kind of expression, things had gotten serious.

She subconsciously glanced at An Yu, who was seriously focused on the game beside her.

If her big sister really liked An Yu, what should she do?

Her heart was filled with mixed emotions.  

Ning Dongli felt somewhat lost.  

She didn’t even know what she was hesitating about.

Hadn’t her goal in testing been to help Ning Wanciu?  

So why had things turned out like this…?

“Ning Dongli?”

“Here!”

Seeing that Ning Dongli had suddenly stopped moving, An Yu called out to her in confusion.

However, Ning Dongli’s reaction was unexpectedly strong.  

She trembled in panic, her face flushing red, nearly dropping the controller.

Seeing this, An Yu narrowed her eyes slightly.  

She placed her controller on the edge of the bed, leaned her body forward a little to get closer to Ning Dongli, and stared intently into her eyes.

“W-what’s wrong?”

Ning Dongli braced herself with her arms behind her on the bed to keep from falling backward.  

She looked at the girl in front of her in a panic, afraid that An Yu might suspect her motives weren’t pure.

“You’ve been acting really strange since earlier.”

An Yu tilted her head.  

Even though they were playing the girl’s favorite type of game, for some reason she couldn’t concentrate, as if her mind was elsewhere.

Thinking this, An Yu expressionlessly scooted closer to Ning Dongli.  

She had even asked that strange question earlier.

“An… An Yu…”

Ning Dongli instinctively wanted to back away, but there was nowhere to go.  

Any further and she would simply be lying down on the bed.

So she could only watch helplessly as An Yu drew closer, staring at her with serious eyes.

Ning Dongli frantically looked away, waiting for the girl’s judgment.

Only after a long moment did An Yu slowly speak:

“Ning Dongli, are you sleepy?”

“I… huh?”

Ning Dongli blinked, somewhat at a loss.

“Have you been sleeping properly?”

An Yu narrowed her eyes.  

She had noticed the dark circles under the girl’s eyes.

Even though her bed was so soft, why wasn’t she sleeping well?

An Yu reached out and pinched Ning Dongli’s cheek, forcing her to meet her gaze.

“Ah… I…”

Ning Dongli wanted to make an excuse.  

She had actually been quite healthy lately.  

It was just that after learning An Yu would be coming today, she had been too excited to sleep, which left her with faint dark circles.

However… if she tried to argue, An Yu might notice what she was really trying to hide.

Ning Dongli lowered her head with an apologetic look and admitted:  

“Mm, sorry…”

There was no helping it.  

Saying too much might let An Yu catch on.  

Her intuition was too scary!

“As expected, that’s it.”

An Yu nodded.  

She knew Ning Dongli hadn’t rested well.  

Otherwise she wouldn’t have been acting so strangely since earlier.

It was the same for her.  

Normally it might be fine, but once you sat on the bed, you would start feeling sleepy.  

That was understandable.

She casually pressed the controller to pause the game, then tugged at Ning Dongli.

“Let’s sleep for a bit now.”

An Yu reached out and gently stroked Ning Dongli’s head, preparing to lie down with her.

“Mm… huh?”

Suddenly patted on the head by An Yu, Ning Dongli felt the touch on her scalp.  

She obediently lowered her head, feeling inexplicably happy inside.

“Lie down.”

Before Ning Dongli could react, An Yu spoke.  

Her voice carried an unquestionable tone, and Ning Dongli almost subconsciously complied.

“O-okay…”

She lay down and slowly closed her eyes.  

With just a slight reach, she could touch An Yu.

Seeing this, An Yu lay down as well.  

The distance between them became very close.  

Ning Dongli nodded in satisfaction and then lay down beside her.

This made Ning Dongli even more nervous.

“An… An Yu…” she subconsciously called out.

Hearing Ning Dongli’s voice, An Yu slowly opened her eyes and stared calmly at Ning Dongli lying opposite her.  

There was no hint of shyness; she even scooted a bit closer.

“What is it?”

Ning Dongli’s voice trembled slightly.  

At this moment, she understood even better why her big sister had reacted that way earlier.

An Yu’s sense of personal space was definitely off!

She could only endure the nervousness and force herself to meet An Yu’s gaze.

“An Yu… how did you and my sister meet?”

“With Ning Wanciu?”

The girl’s eyes dimmed a little, but she remained as serious as ever.  

An Yu blinked, her expression unchanged.

“Because we’re classmates.”

Ning Dongli was stunned.  

She had almost forgotten that An Yu and Ning Wanciu were in the same class.  

Mainly because… there was still a noticeable height difference between the two.

Ning Dongli had subconsciously treated An Yu as someone her own age.  

In reality, An Yu was older than her and could even be considered her older sister.

“Then… then how did you two become so close like you are now?”

“Hmm?”

Rarely, An Yu fell into thought.

How did they become so close…  

She forgot.

Hadn’t it always been like this from the start?

It seemed that ever since An Yu became aware of Ning Wanciu’s existence, Ning Wanciu had always been very good to her.  

As expected of the big pillow she had chosen.

“Has it always… been like this?”

Ning Dongli didn’t understand what An Yu meant.  

In interpersonal relationships, how could anyone be so close right from the very beginning?

It really was like that.  

Come to think of it, in a way, Ning Wanciu and An Yu really had been.  

From the start, An Yu had very proactively initiated intimate actions with Ning Wanciu.

An Yu blinked, looking completely natural about it.  

For her and Ning Wanciu, being close was only right.
