Chapter 349: The Eight Demon Generals Appear

Su Nian came to a halt in front of Su Changhai.

Her long, snow-white dress fluttered slightly, yet it did not touch a single drop of the thick, foul-smelling blood pooling on the ground. 

She looked down from her height, her eyes—as bright as the stars—gazing coldly at the writhing mass of flesh beneath her feet.

“Uncle?”

When that word fell from Su Changhai’s mouth—a mouth caked in blood and dust—it only served to make Su Nian feel a wave of physical nausea.

Memories she had deliberately tried to forget now surged up with jarring clarity.

When the light dissipated, only a charred, black mark remained on the ground.

Nearby, Chu Tian watched all of this quietly, the corners of his mouth curling into a satisfied arc that no one noticed. 

His little wildcat had finally learned how to show her sharpest claws.

However, at the very last instant before the Light of Judgment fell, a massive black shadow plummeted without warning from the dark vaulted ceiling of the cave.

“Squelch—”

A dull, tooth-aching thud abruptly tore through the deathly silence of the cave. 

The sound was like a giant hammer driving a wet wooden stake into the mud—brutal and absolute.

The Holy Light gathering in Su Nian’s palm suddenly stalled. 

Her pupils constricted as they reflected an extremely bloody scene.

A bone blade, polished from the spine of a giant beast, had ruthlessly pierced through Su Changhai’s back. 

The tip of the blade, dripping with flesh and blood, pinned his body firmly to the cold ground.

Su Changhai’s flesh, his vitality, and even his soul were being maniacally devoured by that sinister bone blade.

To the naked eye, the blood geysering from his severed limbs eerily flowed backward. 

His skin rapidly shriveled and collapsed, clinging tightly to his bones until they turned a deathly gray.

In the span of only one or two breaths, the man who had been writhing on the ground was completely transformed into a desiccated corpse, drained of all moisture.

With a soft “crack”, the dry corpse could no longer bear the weight and shattered into a pile of ashen powder. 

A faint draft in the cave blew it away, leaving nothing behind.

Not even a trace of his existence remained.

Su Nian’s eyes stared fixedly at the figure that had appeared out of nowhere.

Gareth extended a massive hand and slowly pulled the bone blade from the ground. 

There wasn’t a single drop of blood on the blade. 

Instead, it shimmered with a strange, oily luster—the satisfied glow of a blade that had just devoured a complete soul.

Gareth spoke, his voice as coarse as two giant boulders grinding against each other. 

Every word carried the contempt of a high-level predator toward its food.

“What a boring prey. Not even enough to fill the gaps between my teeth.”

As his voice fell, the space in the shadows beside him rippled like water. 

Another graceful figure walked out slowly with elegant steps.

She wore a long purple dress woven from shadows and starlight. 

The hem of her skirt moved without any wind, flowing with a deep and dreamlike brilliance. 

Her face was exotic and breathtakingly beautiful. 

Every feature was so exquisite that she didn’t look human, yet they combined to create a charm that could swallow one’s soul.

[Dream-Weaving Demon Queen] Yousha.

“Oh dear, oh dear.”

Yousha extended a jade-white finger to lightly cover her red lips, letting out a forced, regretful chuckle, “That was such a good show. Gareth, it seems you’ve interrupted them. I’m truly sorry.”

Her voice was sweet and pleasant, every syllable carrying a strange magic that made one want to drown in it involuntarily. 

However, those violet eyes shimmering with strange light were cold and devoid of any mirth.

She looked with interest at Su Nian, at Chu Tian—who had been standing aside watching the show—and at Little Green circling in the air. 

Her gaze was like someone admiring a few interesting collectibles that were about to fall into her hands.

Finally, her gaze settled on the [Energy Gathering Magic Circle] in Su Nian’s hand, which she had only just acquired. 

A flash of undisguised greed flickered deep within her eyes.

“However, your human infighting should come to an end.”

Yousha lowered her hand, and the smile on her face became playful and cruel. 

She paused for a moment before whispering in a tone that declared the final outcome.

“This item, as well as your lives… we of the Demon Race will take them both.”
