“Ah—! You actually… attacked my weakness!”
Her limbs were bound and suffocated by tentacles like constricting pythons. Tianyu struggled and twisted her body nonstop, but all her resistance was in vain.
Nearby, Qingtian was tied to a pillar, her orange pupils widened as she stared at everything unfolding.
In the night, the Witch let out a soft laugh. “Mm-hmm~ what a stubborn child~”
She put on a pair of dark-toned gloves, flexing her fingers in the air before settling on a gesture—either raising her middle finger or both her index and middle fingers—pointing toward Tianyu, who was desperately struggling in the distance. Her red tongue slid across her lips.
“Which magic should I use? This is such a hard choice.” The Witch extended her hand, palm open.
Instantly, a magic circle unfolded in front of her, wrapped in an aura of destruction, its blue glowing patterns pulsing ominously.
Tianyu stared at the massive magic circle as a sharp, enormous sword slowly took shape within it. The thought of that blade piercing her heart in the next moment made her tremble uncontrollably.
“You bastard! If you have the guts, come at me instead!!” Qingtian struggled against the cross, her snow-white wrists chafed red by the tight bindings.
“Heh, you can’t stop me.” The Witch’s expression shifted. In the next instant, the giant sword turned into a streak of silver light and shot toward Tianyu.
“No, don’t!!!”
“That’s enough!”
At that moment, the direction where all the tentacles converged suddenly warped, as if space itself twisted, and then they vanished into the night sky.
The Witch looked up, her eyes darkening.
“Magical Girl Xi?!”
“Hehe, you still have time to run now.”
A girl dressed in gold-and-white stepped through the air. The Witch lowered her head solemnly, as if facing a formidable enemy.
“Tch, I’ll let you off this time.”
She turned around and flicked her sleeve.
“Farewell, magical girls!”
In the next instant, the light around her body distorted. The Witch’s expression, once confident of victory, changed drastically.
“Y-you… what did you do?!”
“Heh, just a little trick.”
By the time she realized she was trapped, it was already too late. The Witch was caught by Xi’s gravity, unable to escape.
She could only sink bit by bit into the magical vortex, until she was finally pulled into Xi’s embrace.
With a tearing sound, large patches of her fair skin were exposed.
“Let’s take a break. We’ll be right back.”
Just as the plot reached a critical moment, BYD TV Station started running ads again.
Lin Xiaojue stared at the Tianyu milk powder commercial on the screen, falling into deep thought.
She wore bear slippers, and her hoodie with a bear pattern was stretched tight across her chest. Her soft black hair draped naturally over the back of the sofa.
Since returning home, she had been idling at Su Yaqing’s place. Every day, aside from eating, she played around. Occasionally, when Xia Yao came over, the three of them would… try all sorts of things together.
At first, everything felt fresh, but over time, Lin Xiaojue found it increasingly dull. Doing only that kind of thing clearly wasn’t enough to enrich her spiritual life.
She felt she needed something more fulfilling—besides shopping and trying on clothes, maybe livestreaming or gaming.
Or animation.
But due to a magical girl’s natural physique, she picked things up too quickly. Once she mastered them, they quickly lost their appeal.
So Lin Xiaojue dug out the unfinished anime she had watched before.
“Magical Girl Squad” was a TV anime released in two thousand twenty-five, with its opening theme performed by Lacrima Mundi. It originally aired in a late-night slot.
She had discovered it at a gathering once. A few people were chatting in a café when her sharp eyes caught sight of this not-for-children show.
She had only intended to give it a try, but unexpectedly, the plot was quite good—and it was even based on her. So Lin Xiaojue decisively got hooked.
She bought discs, figures, manga, snack boxes… and then when she finally watched it—
“What even is this?!”
Lin Xiaojue grabbed the remote and threw it onto the sofa. It bounced a few times, hit her thigh, then bounced back again.
She puffed up in anger.
Even the remote is hitting me!
Thinking about the earlier plot only made her more irritated.
What do they mean, “I was defeated, but not completely defeated”?
What do they mean, “my teammate An Yuxi turned into Magical Girl Xi to save me”?
And what do they mean, “my teammate captured the Witch, stripped her, and then we all devoured her completely”?
Faced with this kind of storyline, Lin Xiaojue didn’t even know where to begin criticizing.
She was going to file a complaint!
“Sigh, I’m not watching anymore. What kind of garbage is this? And I even liked the plot so much before.”
“Oh~ then why is Xiaojue still sitting here waiting through the ads? Isn’t it because you want to see what happens next?”
At that moment, Su Yaqing poked her blonde head out from the kitchen. She held a spatula, her flawless body wrapped in an apron, with only a thin layer of fabric between her thighs.
Gulp.
Lin Xiaojue kept her eyes straight ahead, as if her gaze had been pulled in by gravity.
Since coming back these past few days, Su Yaqing had become more and more open.
If they hadn’t confirmed their relationship, Lin Xiaojue would never have known how many thoughts were hidden beneath that refined appearance.
Sometimes in the bathroom, sometimes on the bed, sometimes in the living room, sometimes on the sofa, sometimes in the kitchen—they played together with a PS5, wearing VR headsets, playing a game called Beat Saber.
Games really are more fun with VR.
Thinking of the thrilling experience of Beat Saber, Lin Xiaojue often found herself missing blocks and struggling to get a perfect score.
Sometimes, she truly admired those players who could achieve full combos.
Their hand speed and reaction time must be incredible.
“I’m not! I’m just curious what kind of plot comes next. After all, I spent money on those discs,” Lin Xiaojue argued, twirling a strand of her hair.
“Oh? But Xiaojue has quite a few… ‘spicy’ discs hidden at home, right? Aren’t you going to watch those? Or are you planning to watch them alone?”
Su Yaqing suddenly put down the spatula and walked over, bringing a waft of fragrance as she came up behind Lin Xiaojue.
She lifted Lin Xiaojue’s chin, and their eyes met in midair.
Lin Xiaojue pouted unhappily. It was true she had hidden many discs at home—but those were from when she used to be a boy. They had nothing to do with her now.
As people online would say, she needed to make a clean break.
“I’ll watch them alone if I want. What’s it to you? Got a problem? Mm~”
She let out a dissatisfied hum, like a hissing kitten. Su Yaqing smiled and pinched her soft, delicate chin.
“Hehe, then when are you going to pay back the ninety-something photos you owe me? Hmm~”
Lin Xiaojue’s cheeks were squished like buns. She grabbed Su Yaqing’s arm and pinched it hard, but it did nothing—not even leaving a mark.
“You’re so annoying, you know that?”
“Am I?”
Su Yaqing lowered her head and gave a quick peck. Lin Xiaojue’s face instantly flushed red.
“Hey, you—!” Lin Xiaojue flailed.
“Mm-hmm~” Su Yaqing followed her movement, extending her arm downward.
